The kill house is such a cool area of Navy Base that could have some awesome fights but nobody goes there.
Why? Because there’s no reason to go through the maze when it doesn’t really connect to anything important. It’s at the edge of the map.
Solution? Move the vault to the back wall of the kill house. The vault is a great gameplay device to lure players into a deeper or more dangerous part of the map (Think: drill pit or the marketplace in spaceport). The kill house could hide potential enemies in the various obstacles and plywood walls, plus the upper areas on the side could house opposing snipers.
The current location isn’t bad but it also feels like an afterthought location. The high command is a great central location with good loot and then right next to it is the vault in one of the random wings. Just feels like everything is too centralized.
One could argue that the current spot is good because it’s in the middle and therefore more dangerous areas. Plus there are catwalks above that people could use to ambush vault robbers.
My counter argument would be that gameplay-wise, that place is already going to be luring people because of high command and all the large containers on the ground nearby. However, if you have the vault on the opposite side of the high command, it counter-balances its weight. People might choose to avoid high command and sneak to the vault. It would increase the foot traffic of players going to and from the kill house and high command
In conclusion, Moving the vault on Navy to the unused masterpiece that is the kill house would kill two birds with one stone.
- The vault gets moved to a spot more fitting for its status and purpose.
- A really cool set piece will finally get some action.
