i agree with @ebon grail it was so good before now its hard to tell where people are and most guns are unrecognizable by the sound. The game sounded so good before my favorite audio amongst games but this update was a huge let down.

...I haven't been able to play since patch did they change how sound actually works or just weapon sounds

cause watching a couple streams it seems like footsteps are MUCH quieter now

footsteps arejust not where the player actually is and also sounds like your head is underwater lol

the footsteps... yeah something's weird there but not all the time, very strange

I had to turn on 3D virtual audio it sort of fixes it... but not really

i toyed around with different audio softwares and it barely maade it better. its 100% possible its just in my head that it got better though lol also all guns sound damn near identical to me with the exception of a couple

agree. it also feels like they reduced the radius of what you can hear- players, AI, etc. I breached someone and heard a player was straight ahead of me behind a wall, but they were flanked to my left and caught me off guard bc it didnt sound like they were there lol

The audio right now is so freaking bad. Had an MG Commando SPRINT up to me today with zero footstep audio, or if it was there it was so quiet it blended in with all the other muddy audio. I've praised this game for having the best audio. Was literally god tier audio, and I hope they fix it.

Yeah they definitely messed with the distance. If you’re on the second floor of a rust bucket you can’t hear someone pod put lol

I have absolutely zero issues with the audio now. Can hear 3d audio direction perfectly.

I would say you are in the minority, unless you have a super audio setup you are not sharing.
