The ability to "fold" or otherwise pack up armoured rigs, so that we can store them in-raid

Pretty much the title, for the sake of convenience. It'd also be useful for putting armoured rigs away in the stash so we dont need to reserve a big block of space that could be used for containers.

Placing "rig" armour in bags or containers was a thing but there were issues with it so it was temporarily removed so it can be fixed.

I do agree that it's quite difficult to bring any of these armours out of a raid. Currently he only real option is to wear non-rig armour into the raid and swap it out for rig armour if you find any, then wear that out. If you have bag space you can stash your original armour in your bag and bring it out, too, then wear that back in again during the next match.

I think certain armour and other items take up a lot of room precisely so we can't stockpile huge amounts of them. If they do add a function to pack armour so it takes less space I doubt it will be a huge reduction in size. At the very least I think they will re-implement placing rig armour inside bags and containers, probably with a similar "fold" system that bags have so you can't stack items inside it while it's inside another container.

right now if you drop your bag on the ground and open it on the ground it'll let you place an equipped rig into it btw

does this bug out or as far as you know it works OK? and does it have to be empty?

i would say it works but i did get a visual glitch one time from doing it mid raid, it doesn't have to be empty but i wouldnt store anything valuable in the rig just incase

i would say if you want to try it to use it just to store the rig with nothing in the rig itself, doing so would let you say be able to store a panzer rig in a light bag and store in your stash for use later

Hi! Just a clarification following the second main paragraph of your response:
When I say "fold," I'm not talking about compressing the size of the armour. I am talking exclusively about the folding mechanic which allows bags to be stored in containers and other bags. I think the ability to disable a rig's storage slots similar to "folding" a bag would be a good QoL improvement, allowing us to store rigs in raid and out of raid in containers, without a change to their inventory size. I don't have any issues with the armour sizes in this game, the size of good equipment is an effective balancing factor imo. Ultimately I just want the ability to take an armoured rig (like the panzer rig) in the same fashion as a piece of panzer armour. My bad for not being very clear around my use of the word fold lol
