💡 What is motivating this suggestion?
The restrictions on movement regarding flying your ships in space makes piloting them feel lackluster and the ship-to-ship combat could be a bit more fleshed out.
💡 What is your proposal?
Improve the maneuverability of ships by granting them the ability to roll and freely move in all directions. Give pilots the ability to free look when piloting the ship so that a solo could fly in one direction and shoot in another.
💡 Exactly and specifically, what should be changed and how?
Pic related. If I were to attempt an Immelmann turn in my ship I wouldn't be able to complete it properly as the ship is prevented from going upside-down. I would be able to fly straight up but I would not be able to go from position 2 to position 3 as the camera / ship is restricted from going upside-down. Removing this restriction and granting pilots the ability to roll manually so that we may be able to perform sweet ship maneuvers would make space combat feel more dynamic.
Touching on a post made by SavageSlavic, the ability to free-look for the pilot of a ship would be nice. Perhaps this could be implemented in a way that would even allow for a solo to fly in one direction and shoot in another so that it's less obvious they're a solo.
