#Key cards should display dock number

I think they need to make sure the keycards don't bug out and stop working entirely, but I like that they don't show the airlock number.

the lack of total information is essential to this genre imo. it's currently way too slow to brute-force every single dock, but if some property of key cards gave away that they worked on one out of maybe 2 or 3 possible (randomly chosen) docks, then players could use deduction to figure it out if they paid attention to where the captain had come from etc.
I like this! Like if the map is Terraformer the card would only say "Research Docking Bay" or "Maintenance Docking Bay". Spaceport could have the docks re-named to 1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, etc. and the card would say "Docking Bay 1" and so on. Enough to give you a general idea of where to look instead of just having to try every single airlock.
All you gotta do is turn around and look at the top of the Door.

this isn't for the owner of the captain card; this is for the people who killed the captain and are looking for the ship they now have access to
I could get behind this, something like the area it came from, like canteen, or gym if you're at prison for example
In my opinion that makes it too easy, it should be hard.
- If it's your dock, simply remember where your dock is.
- If it's an enemies dock, time for you to go and try all the docks. It keeps you in the raid longer and makes you more vulnerable because it gets you close to each dock.
there's only so many ways they can make this forcibly harder though, and i'd rather an increase in difficulty elsewhere than trying every airlock, that's not really hard it's just frustrating
If it's not your ship, it shouldn't say "Hey your dock is in 5E". If you find someones house keys randomly... does it tell you their street & house number? No, because that information should only be known to the owner.
I don't really feel like this situation is comparable to finding someone's house keys on the street though, if you want realism there's a colossal list of changes to be made before this too.
It's exactly comparable. It's supposed to be hard to find someones ship, how hard is it to run to all the spawns and check the docks? On most maps you can check them all within two mins and most of the time you can work out "oh they came from security side of Asteroid, they should be one of the docks on the right side"
direction they come from means naff all unless it's at the v v beginning. i disagree i think there's ways to make a game more interesting and challenging with difficulty, and ways to make it frustrating, to me it's the latter, that's fine if you disagree.
Nothing can beat the relief trying out Cpt. Cards on an Airlock while being low Health , full with Loot and Gunshots behind your back.

id like the key card bug to be fixed first i had three caption kills and couldnt use any of the airlocks
make foreign keycards a different color so you know which is yours and such
