Allow AI-Forms to call "Assistants" as well.

Being able to call custom assistants (which customization happens in OpenAI's side) besides the base models would be very helpful. The use case for all of us using AI-Forms is clear: developers would be enabled to do many more things (customizing the assitants with context, decision trees, etc) but keep the inputs asked from end users as simple as possible (the value of AI-Forms is this, end users not having to interact with a chatbot, just copy your inputs and submit).

As a bonus, being able to call different "assistants" based on the user logged in, would open many business opportunities. The same applies for AI-Forms, fine-tuned models, etc. Developers could charge for user-based customization and serve the different models/assistants/prompts to each user separately. That revenue potential is now not possible unless you get deep in custom code. @weak cedar, please think about it, it's not just custom context anymore, it can now be extended to assistants and client-level customized models. Solving this bottleneck, that requires coding otherwise, would be huge for AI-Engine.

How will you use this? I am just curious, if anyone can upload files, it can become quickly quite messy. Of course, on an Intranet or with very specific users, I could understand, but still - do you have any examples on how it could be used?

Thanks Jordy - it could summarise SEND (special education needs) documents for school leaders to summarise the main points and actions. One of the other benefits would be to critique documents. My site is for school senior leaders so they could upload their schoool improvement plan and get suggestions to improve. They could upload documents from the DfE (Department for Education) and ask questions about it or provide a summary. There are lots of really positive benefits.

I think, if I do this via the OpenAI assistant, documents are deleted after 1 hour to keep things cleaner.

Just by curiosity, have you tried to upload a file, and ask question about it right away?

Because I think it might not; it might take some time to process, maybe even hours, and and then every files uploaded by everyone would be "together" available in that a assistant

I've tried it in the assistant - it worked pretty well. Took a minute or so. Saying that I only asked it to summarise a 2 page document....

But this would be amazing in the free chat but also in the forms.

I have 45 forms on my site that my users love because they don't really know how to ask the right questions so the forms are brilliant for supporting them

Are you sure about this? I thought there are 2 kinds of files for assistants. One is general for the assistant und the other one is separate for each chatsession. Or am i wrong?

Yes @weak cedar, i think the benefit to upload files from the assistant/forms are amazing for users. For schools or e-learning business, student need to upload files. With this option, it will be possible to grade papers immediately. It will be awesome.
And thank you for your job, AI Engine is a disruptive plugin for us👍

Actually @hexed isle, it's not related to the thread, but with the message; so we would need to upload the file(s), then every time, we need to link them to the messages. ChatGPT seems to keep the uploaded file all along, after it has been uploaded, but it's not clear (and there is no way to tell ChatGPT to stop using it). For the Forms, of course, it would be straightforward. @primal frigate I can also see a lot of use cases 🙂 It's actually quite a big development because it impacts many parts of AI Engine, so I really need to take some time for it, even though it looks like a little feature 🙂

Grading assignments based on previous ones/structured instructions would be a game-changer. Even with a custom snippet code would be enough for me. Have anyone found the way for that? I was hoping to make this assistant to work outside my website, so when anyone uploads a file this assistant send a message with corrections to the teacher/admin

Of course i understand it's a huge development Jordy. And why not to sell the "upload button" like an option ? It's normal to pay you back if you decide one day to work on it. 🤑
