Hi all,
I've obtained a chainsaw to help me process down 2 trees worth of firewood (my housemates are good at obtaining it, but not so much the chopping...)

I'm looking now for a facemask / facemask helmet.
One restriction is, has to be XL size (63cm head size, I haz big head)

Now, I've found these 3 as starter research

Now, these any good, which is the best? (Cost up to a reasonable price is not a problem)

Anyone got some insight?

Don't forget the cut proof pants/jacket unless you already have those. Facemasks I have no idea we don't have these at home.

Already selected the pants.. just got no idea on the facemask ..

Id recommend still wearing safety glasses. Ive had chips ricochet up into my face in the past with shields.

Preferred goggles when it wasn't too humid.

Good point, thanks Shaman

Side note, eletric chain saws often have more torque than gas saws and you need to look into chap ratings because eleteic saws can cut through some chapps

This guy has a good bit of chainsaw instruction/saftey content that should be watched if you have not used chainsaws before

Whatever you do do not fuck around with chainsaws.
It is super easy to loose a limb or be otherwise maimed

Yeah and maintenance is extremely important. I had a chainsaw fall apart on me while in use while cutting trees for road clearance during an emergency response. The guy who was doing weekly maintenance on them didn't fasten it together properly and I wound up getting sprayed with metal and rocks.

A piece of metal somehow went two inches into my leg, I lost a sliver of that ridge between nostrils and gave me a limp. I still don't know exactly how all that happened because of how quick it was but that guy wasn't around anymore afterwards.

I got peppered pretty good.

Not trying to be spooky about safety, as long as you're a thorough person you'll be safe.

That was kind of a weird situation because we were supposed to confidently grab the saws and put them to immediate use in an emergency. Some dummy just didn't do their job.

Anyone else, as long as they just double check their equipment, will be fine. But it just adds into the 'respect your tools' deal.

And khai to my knowledge has never used a chainsaw before

keen frigate

Not yet. Used many other power tools, so I do have respect for tools, but I'm not going to underestimate a chainsaw

I would not be this ping happy if I wasn't aware of how fucking dangrous chainsaws are

Not a problem. I totally get it. And thank you. It means a lot
