Does anybody have any suggestions on how I could restore this plug without replacing or damaging it I thought of a vapor rust but I'm not sure if that would stay or stay in the cord it's a fabric cord for an antique drop light

It is possable to get modern plugs that look exactly like that
Looking at the plug, I would guess that the cord likely needs to get replaced too

They make replacement braided Cordes for lamps like that
