I like the first two rules
gives martial classes a means of scaling their damage through levels, like caster classes
normally, a lv20 barbarian pretty much only does the same damage as a lv1 barbarian- if the lv20 haven't found a better weapon by the grace of the dm
though of course they get "extra attack" to kind of make up for it
also makes gold actually meaningful
just important to make sure the tiers kind of goes with the levels
so you "might" be able to get a +1 fairly early if you gather gold- but you couldn't get a +2 before maybe around 10
and only later, reach +3
Caster relics also had a similar treatment, if someone spent 400 gold on their focus or their quarter staff they had a chance to roll a d8 and regain spell slots

I like Grievous Wounds as a punishment of when a character had to do death saving throws
Not a permanent thing
There is a home brew shock mechanic for when a character loses over half their Max HP in one go
But something to overcome and live with for a little while after they have nearly died
Oooh

I think I may have heard about it once
Oh I love these guys
They make great videos
you all talking about grievious wounds and shock mechanic reminded me of one of their bits in the video I sent
where one of them is at 1 hit point, but still wants to do physical work

There's also things like aimed shots and whatnot
But too many rules and it doesn't become fun
I'm a huge fan of aimed/called shots when I play archer classes- specifically the homebrew "zen archer"
I believe Rob is the one who says that BG3 is a horrible showcase of D&D and I agree with him on certain things
also because archers speficially get the "archery fighting style"
that elevates their "to hit" rolls by +2, over what other weapons can reach
so I like to take advantage of that extra "to hit" chance

I'd like to play the zen archer in a campaign, but it's homebrew
so have to get permission each time
the one I posted here is essentially a revamped "kensei" made for archery
I will do aimed shots so much with my Sorcerer/Warlock character and do all of them with Eldritch Blast

anything else than archery still suffers all the disadvantages of called shots
only archery gets an extra +2 to hit, that nothing else gets
but it's fun when it works
Yea but what do I care it's a cantrip so whatever
@dark stream I have at some point written a Japanese vampire campaign set during the 1st Mongol invasion-
Kyuketski clans working under the shotgun to fight the fleet and the yaoguai that have joined the fight
I think I made my final "average" Sanguine Warforged

my primal spirit barbarian-- the bear is supposed to be a giant red panda
but you can't make red pandas in heroforge
I could also make it an owl, but I don't think you can have a big owl besides your character in heroforge either
proper beast master class
Run an ancestral barbarian archer that has high dex and rages with archery
Ancestral protectors means you can snipe an enemy and they are forced to target you
Yea and since it cam be a large animal you can ride on it too as a Gnome/Dwarf/Halfling
One of the coolest things is also that you can have it be literally anything
It can look like a Dragon or Bear or Shark
A giant Owl
And you can change its form everytime it dies too
Man this gives me now ideas
You can make an Orochimaru
Now have a spellcaster who casts enlarge on it and have everyone ride on it
could I do some relic stuff before we leave?
I got almost 500gp
Uhhh not before you leave no
It usually requires a dedicated blacksmith
Here lemme get the stats
50gp makes it +1
100gp makes a 20+ a crit
200gp gives an additional damage dice
300gp gives it a relic trait at my discretion
And a questline to get it
could M31 serve that purpose? having expertise in smith's tools

making ordinary items into magical ones is what she does, after all
I mean we're basically gods at this point
Oh the hubris
The DnDBeyond website is ass
Anyway this
and
"You get an +2 to Constitution and a plus 1 to any ability score of your choice"
"Sanguine Warforged have a weakness to poison"
"You get the Crimson Lash spell at level 1 and the Sense Lifeblood spell at level 3. You can cast these spells once before you have to take a long rest to replenish them. You choose the spell modifier for these spells at level 1 when you choose this race."
Mom Jo-rah's hyperfixating on Crimson Lash again
puts a curse on jo-rah so he can't use crimson lash
Nah just the best 1st lvl sangromancy spell to give
Blood Rush is a heal that's cool but not enough flavour to me and Consumption is too strong for my feeling to be for free but also just not fitting well into the flavour of the race
Blood Rush is a heal that's cool but not enough flavour to me and Consumption is too strong for my feeling to be for free but also just not fitting well into the flavour of the race
You're getting 2 consecutive Circle of Scarlets and a sense lifeblood empowered Magic Missile
ill just ask for future - if we continue we use same characters or make new?
I don't thinl Cannon got it in him to go for a fully new campaign
No but in all honesty I don't think at all that you will make new characters
this sounds like you think i cant make new characters.
I don't think you can't just that Cannon won't ask you to

I wanna bring dota items and spells to D&D. "This item makes me magic immune for two rounds, except to gorgons and really fat undead." "This item drains my HP to raise my strength stat." "Once per long rest I can turn everyone in my party invisible." "The more enemies my AOE spell hits, the more powerful it becomes."
Don't know what dota means but yes those sound all very cool
Realizing DnD doesn't have to be completly be uptight but you can add small stuff here and there to make it more interesting
dota is a game
Mirana also tosses a stun in a straight line which has a disadvantage to hit. There's a character who can cast mirror image on everyone he is hunting and swap places with any image, like a weird ranger ability. And there's a dude whose main damage is glyphs which he can also move very slowly.
Been binge watching Vox Machina Season 3 a good bit today
In this video, I will be going over the top 10 feats you can hand out to players that wonโt break the game at your table. Feats can be incredibly powerful, but not all feats are created equally. Some of these feats are low enough in power to be able to be handed out as a reward to one of your players without disrupting the game any more than g...
Man I'm looking through the Grim Hollow subclasses again and damn the Circle of Blood Druid is perfect
The abfliegen are all amazing and build on each other and are just cool
And Rite of the Blood Moon is so strong and flavourfull
I am still a bit mad that Sangromancy wizards didn't get a real life drain feature and even their lvl 6 feature is still a bit boring while good (although the hp you get through the Lvl of Sangromancy spell you cast could be a tad bit higher in my opinion)

Hmm I like this a lot
Although I imagine it may be a bit harder for beginners but I think that's nit the case since they say they got traditional ones too to just take
I am excited for the next book a lot
Benjamin Huffman - Ghostfire Gaming https://share.google/ecHth8Vx9FeXNORVs
Game designer & ENnie silver winning writer. Author of Villains of Grim Hollow and the pugilist class available on Dungeon Masters Guild.
Cool stuff
Factions of Grim Hollow - Ghostfire Gaming https://share.google/JPjqWppjyC0AATZiG
Ooh even cooler
Lore on the factions
Kicking my feet and giggling like a school girl under ny blanket

may not is also part of that statement
Well you could have just said that we won't encounter them for sure and just be in a Dungeon for the rest of the campaign
So a may or may not is hype

may or may not means I'm not telling you shit
oops, no more campaign now
If it's like this then
I CAST
CATCH THESE HANDS
Cannon can i have the other slipper
yep
Well fuck, I watched all of Vox Machina (the animated series)
What am I gonna watch now for DnD stuff?
Well i could
Although it's not the same
But atleast I wouldn't have to watch that weirdo and cheater who was at the beginning of their live show with them
By the way I learned about Ghostfire Gamings Heritage System and I love it
Excited to see what traits and all the Grim Hollow races will have in GH Transformed

Been watching more Ghostfire Gaming videos
Man I love them
I think the cult one was a really good video that I can recommend to anyone DMing or just interested in the writing stuff
Now I also found out what the Heritage system is
I love it
My only concern is how it will be to implement races that aren't on the list to the system
The Accursed are there for that but I fear that the different races not from the system will not be able to translated as well in it
And making them all feel less special or unique

Look at this sexy art
Look at those Ostoyans
I got today an idea for a new character. Highway Rider Rogue and Disembodied race.
Got a good story or moreso character, personality and some core events
Depending on it I might not have a full on backstory in the classic sense with going all the way back to the childhood

What are the rules on guns in Grim Hollow and in general?
ohh, that's sick
have you seen the one that turns it into a rogue-like?
i have, yes
Updated the look of my god of peace
work is underway
refined version
This will probably help yall when following the paper trail of plot points
So looking through Highway Rider and how Rogues generally work
So going on from level 3 I would be able to nearly always do sneak attack
Since all I need to do is just walk 20 feet
Which is even easier to do as a Rogue since I can do the dash action just with a bonus action
So a pistol and sneak attack
At lvl 3 is 1d10 and 2d6
At lvl 4 I can take a frat to ignore the loading of Guns
So I can dual wield pistols
Multiclass artificer to make gun
1d10 and 2d6 + proficiency bonus and another 1d10 on bonus action if I don't want to dash/disengage/hide
And the longer I go in the class and get stronger sneak attacks the more damage per turn I will be able to make
And that damage every turn I hit
And if I miss first attack I can still try to do sneak attack with bonus action gun
Meh not needed I think
Though I wonder how it is? Will I have to hope that DM lets me buy pistols since I don't think you can start with them as a Rogue
Could maybe ask if it's alright to just start with pistol and give up crossbow or bow up for it
Or even the longsword option
Now besides all that Rogue gets out of combat stuff with skills and expertise which is pretty cool
just keep in mind you aren't proficient in dual-wielding without a fighting style
so you won't be adding your ability mod to the damage of the off-hand weapon
Read AIzo

Yea I know no ability modifier on them
Hmm proficiency bonus still applies to offhand weapons?
you won't be proficient with guns
he's talking about the highway rider subclass- automatic "blackpowder pistol" proficiency at lv3

but of the grim hollow rogue subclasses, I'm more interested in the misfortune bringer
seems hilarious
then where is this 1d10 coming from?
the black powder weapons don't deal 1d10 damage
I looked up guns in DnD and on the wikidot renasaincee pistols are a d10
that's not what grim hollow black powder weapons do
I don't know if there are special ones for Grim Hollow cause in the server I asked no one answered it
Ah guns are among the advanced weapons?
simply cause all the enemies to be.. "unlucky" during combat

So Grim Hollow blackpowder pistols are 2d4
Yea still nothing denstrumental
There is only one thing I think the highway rider or specifacally any build using the blackpowder weapons are really annoying at
That being that they are fucking loud
Like once you go into combat you can bet your ass you won't be leaving it until all enemies in the vicinity of 300 feet are dead
Got it already
I only gotta think of feats to take now
And also I found out Rogues get 6 feats I thin in total
More importantly they get at lvl 10 a feat too
So on blackpowder weapons I still get dexterity ability modifier on it?
If that is the case I did some test rolls
2d4 + dex 4 + pb 2 + sneak attack 2d6
All on lvl 3
On average they end up to an 17 atleast or to an 20
Beginner concept
Not sure about the Background yet but the skills will probably all stay the same cause I'm stuck between 3 backgrounds who all are in a similiar vein and therefore similiar skills
The more lvl1 character concepts I make the more I notice that the average character roll isn't that great cause look at that
Only 2 for dex and 1 for con
Everything stuck around 12 or 11 without race modifiers
Compare those (to me) abysmal stats to Jo-Rah
I really was lucky on my first rolls while making Jo-Rah
Where are you getting this from?
I have never seen this before, that's honestly kinda frightening
If you went human too, that's technically seven feats
Right and depending on vversion of 5e you can ahve kinda lawys a feat at from lvl 1
But yea to me the important thing is a feat on lvl 10
I expect the average go to be till lvl 13 or 12 so everything there from lvl 1 to lvl 13 is the important stuff to me
4 feats if the campaign goes to lvl 12
Nice
because nobody plays rogue, and those that do never make it to level 10

knocks on woods
Val was trying to accomplish that too but hasn't succeded yet
What do you mean no one? Isn't Rogue like one of the most popular subclasses?
It's a class that gets thrown into the limelight for all the jokes about stealing, robbing, stealth etc but past that point people either multiclass or uh. Die from their shenanigans
I had a single rogue go up to level 12 arcane trickster but he was more of a pirate than a thief
the rogue I almost played was going to be almost a ranger/tracker
I won't die i got M31 to shield me
the rogue's I'm looking at are "mastermind" and "misfortune bringer"
and then I'd basically play support rogue
seems like fun
mastermind can do the "help" action from 30ft range, and as a bonus action
for the misfortune bringer, you can just make enemies fall over on their turns, and lose their movement

I would've taken Scout at 3rd level
https://dnd5e.wikidot.com/rogue:scout
would be really fun in like, a jungle campaign

Her backstory was gonna be that she was trained as an army scout
Mastermind I heard was pretty bad
maybe for meta nobodies who only powergame
zero personality

point is, is fun for roleplay
Whatever you say Mr Bigbrain
super charismatic rogue who manipulates peepos through charisma/deception and aids allies as such
seems fun

the different "misfortunes" the misfortune bringer can conduct upon targets of their evil eye

also
for some reason, when I go to the site, the top 6 options are smooshe together and it's impossible the read XD
oh for me as well, I went to this one instead https://www.worldanvil.com/w/diabboru---grim-hollow-diabboru/a/misfortune-bringer-article

feels like an alternative to the arcane trickster- you're a rogue, and then you have a few resources
for a little shenaniganery
Scout can sneak attack twice in a turn

the evil eye let's the misfortune bringer sneak attack regardless of advantage or not
as long as you don't have disadvantage
when you attack as an action, you can make an additional attack as a bonus action which can benefit from sneak attack
You also get advantage on initiative and if you hit someone before their turn in the first round, you get advantage
Scout has one of the best capstone features imo
just double attack and sneak attack on a class that is always one and done is so good
scout seems fun both mechanically, but also roleplay wise
sneaking ahead, making sure there's no traps or ambushes and such
yee, I've wanted to play one for a while
but then SOME OTHER PLAYERS
made a party that would have had 4 lv1 rogues in it

the misfortune bringer rogue feels a little bit like battle master-
you also recover the jinx points on short rests
of course it's still a rogue, so not a toe-to-toe battler
Looking at Scout and it seems ok
more classes should get stuff from short rests
Not ehat I'd want to play but cool
you can add 1d12 necrotic damage when something gets hurt within range for only 1 jinx point
but like, it's also just damage, and could risk it only being 1 damage
on the other hand, can spend 3 jinx points, and make an enemy who tries to move
fall over their own feet and go prone/lose remaining movement
seems more fun, and potentially give advantage to allies hitting them

Highway Rider does the samw but instead you just need to move 20 feet
my vision of a misfortune rogue, they wouldn't use daggers
but rather either thrown weapons/knives, or hand crossbows
You know the Sanguine Thief that is coming out is supposed to have an ability making yourself blood daggers and he seemingly can be really good at knife throwing
something sneak and devious, maybe with a history in the faewild
the subclass itself does mention being the child of a hag or witch and such
could possibly pick up the "lucky" feat early on
and roleplay that your character is inherently blessed with luck
but they're only lucky because they drain the luck from those around them

quick 5 min mini

Hey there still is an open place if you wanna play
ALthough I know currently is not the time for you ans you might not wanna play with someone who is still new

Kenku?
In the next Grim Hollow there is the race Accursed
his/her [insert parental figure/patron/guardian] tried all they could teaching us magic
but somehow, something always went wrong, as if fate itself was against it.. so unlucky
and as the campaign moves along, we slowly learn to focus this "unluck" to various effects

or something like that
yee
would be cool
always too many characters and not enough campaigns to play them in
either that, or we go the other way, where things always seem to go our way, at the cost of others for some reason messing up
and again, we slowly understand what it is, and learn to focus it

You keep forgetting that there are 5 different kinds of Spell DCs
High dex means nothing to "Command"
huh? I never said anything against that
you just said you'll never die as a Highway Rider
Oh I'll just be out of reach

Anywas since campaign isn't up for some people and I still wanna try to get expirience Imma announce this
I AM GONNA MAKE A ONE SHOT CAMPAIGN IN GRIM HOLLOW
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A ONE SHOT CAMPAIGN FEEL FREE TO LET ME KNOW
makes inquisitor cleric for majo's campaign
starts with 20AC from heavy armour+shield
has the witch hunter feat

You can do that but I will probably make the lvl be 3 or 4 depending on how many people come and if I wanna deal with feats in a One Shot
This can be a superb opportunity for pur fellow DMs to game a bit too again and test some builds you had in mind
the parasite warlock is pretty interesting, because you're essentially playing as your own patron
controlling a meat puppet(that is the warlock)
Sssshhh Aizo go and get some people that I can DM
Oh gey Aizo by the way
A subclass that is coming up in the soon released Grim Hollow Transformed (overworked version of Grim Hollow) is a Wizard who studies Gods and Demons and can use those powers and stuff from them without being in a pact with one or a cleric
Like healing stuff, Eldritch Blast and pact magic
And you can always decide on each long rest in what study you wanna go into
Each Grim Hollow subclass empowers you to play DnD as an anti-hero, whether you're a Rogue who wields blood magic or a Paladin who took an oath of slaughter!
Unlock the Grim Hollow Player's Guide on D&D Beyond:
https://ghostfiregaming.com/GGYT_GHRF_2025_9_569
Late pledge to unlock these and more subclasses: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...
If you wanna see him start at 8:50
that makes no sense

it's not a magic you can study to "learn" it's a granted/gifted power for warlocks
and clerics don't lorewise "cast spells" they act as prisms for their god's power
Bla bla bla
Wizard go Revivify
You should atleast watch it before judging it
The book probably explains how they are doing it or giving options to it
It could be by siohoning holy objects that an Seraph touched or gave someone
I like it cause it's a middle finger to all god beings and I love that
Well he can
only classes with access to healing is those connected to the divine, or primordial nature
Or the Daemonologist
nah this is stupid
i'm with Aizo
interesting idea, but doesn't make sense lorewise, it a wizard cannot learn these things and still be a wizard

wizards can't learn smite spells and neither should they
and neither should a wizard learn revivify, the best they can do is raise dead until they get the powerful resurrection spells
mb shoulda clarified the smite spells

the only way to get access to healing spells, is through being chosen by the divine or the primordial, you cannot study to learn it
and eldritch blast is the same- though you could argue either could be "mimicked"
too late, now you look like a fool
Well in the world of Etharis they can

it would work'ish if it was a sorcerer subclass and not a wizard subclass
sorcerer already have divine soul, and warlock has the celestial patron
divine soul and celestial warlocks can do this
but a wizard having access to these are no longer a wizard
so whats the idea a wizard tried to study the magic of warlocks to see how their powers manifest and try to replicate it?
Aizo why don't you atleast watch the video section first instead of just shitting on it
druids and rangers can heal since they draw strength from the land itself
from the primordial side

By the way Justin guess what my Sangromancer can learn
because the idea itself makes no sense- but I agree it's a fun idea
it should not have been a wizard subclass though, that's what's wrong

grim hollow isn't official is it?
No Val
It's moreso a Wizard stealing powers from Gods and Demons alike
ah then it doesn't matter that they make the class
it's not official, it's funny side thing that people made
how would they do that?
flat answer, they can't
Stealing secrets and finding ways to unnaturally access their kikd of magic
it took Acererak multiple tries and several wish spells to attain his near godhood
idea i had is probably also not possible but seems better then just somehow taking their power or whatever
that would entail the wizard being more powerful than both arch seraph and arch daemon
both of which are as omnipotent, as not being omnipoten gets
would require something like elminster level of power
Not gonna lie Arch Seraphs and Deamons are kinda weak though
and then venin snapped you out of existence
now rules and lore and such are there to make sure stuff doesn't get to ridiculous and out of hand but the idea of dnd is that u can use ur imagination for anything to happen right?
Im the world of Grim Hollow I can see this cause the gods are literally dead and even the strongest ones on the evil side
so they are just breaking some of the rules to make a cool class
where's that abridged guide again:
Wizard: your power comes from beign smart enough to understand magic
Warlock: you got a patron who throws you curveballs
Bard: you can sing magic into creation
Paladin: your power comes from conviction
Cleric: your power is gifted from worship
Ranger and Druid: your power comes from the land
Mostly
but really, even saying that, your class now no longer have access to that side's powers
a dm in a campaign can rightfully take away a paladin or cleric or warlocks powers, if they don't follow their deity/patron/oaths ways

I think that's really fun for rp stuff
had an NPC lose his oath because he betrayed his town
and I bargained to have my paladin lose 3 levels to heal someone to multi as a level 3 fighter
Yea in the vid they also suggest that as a Daemonologist you would rightfully be hunted down by both sides of the spectrum
You are a rare breed cause those who try to steal from the gods and demons alike do not live long
how would u steal from them?
not just both sides. You would also be eyed on by great old ones and fey alike, even liches would be out to get you since you stole magic from the gods, ergo you have the ability to screw other magical beings too
it's not like their power comes from something like an item of a specific body part
their magic or power is inate? is that the word?
Again I think it's cool and works for the Grim Hollow setting cause the Arch Seraphs and Daemons are just fundamentally weaker then gods and so may even not be able to keep their source of power limited to them or be weak enough to be sourced by someone
yes- neither eldritch blast, nor divine healing is actual "magic" in dnd lore
one side is "gifted power" the other is "miracles" where the cleric solely acts as a prism for the god's power

Yea and that's a really nice flavour and part of the subclass that I think they do make emphasis on
?
they get their powers form the gods u mean?
this weird wizard subclass is what you might find in a dnd villain
because if someone/something was cabable of stealing and harnessing god's power for themselves, they'd essentially be attempting to become gods themselves
no low level character can achieve anything of that sort
i want more fun stealth rogue subclasses
though you can always backstory good reasons for it
call it shadow or something and give u illusion magic where u can turn into shadow and be almost completely silent when moving even in heavy armor
like you were actually a warlock and a cleric at one point, but your real class was wizard, and during the time spent under the patron and deity
you simply worked to mimic their might, and then ran away
or maybe while being a warlock u somehow manage to use the connection between u and ur god to "steal" their power in a way they have no control over?
idk how that would be achived but thought it was a fun idea
maybe u conspire with another god to help u in this endevor
shackling ur patron to basicaly become ur overpowered servant
and u now have "free" reign of their power
it cannot be "steal" because no low level character would have anything close to that power to do that, without being outright killed on the spot
BRO JUST WATCH ZEH GOD DAMN VIDEO
LITERALLY
true but lets just say they are a level 20 char by default for the sake of making the idea work
also jeannies live probably has to focus on stream a little
Anyway go and check out the video too cause they also show off the Sanguine Thief subclass fir the Rogue
a blood thief?
a vampire rogue does sound kinda cool
get a like version of misty step where u turn into a swarm of bats
a lv 20 character might have a chance, but would still require something special-
arch daemons/seraphs are something dc26+ which means a team of 4 lv26 characters would
have a tough fight against them-- acererak we fought in the tomb of annihilation only had dc23
i just want a super stealthy rogue
reminds me of how Oathbreaker paladins were designed to be NPC villains, not PCs
but as I said, anything is possible with a well-written backstory

domain of trickery rogue + shadowstep monk + gloom stalker ranger + rogue smth smth
oh and that special thing could be the aid of another god as i mentioned
tbf drow rogues are already very sneaky
but it's not how high your stealth score is, it's how creative you are with being unseen
i would prefer to get it faster then having to multiclass into several classes >.<
liger hides behind a twig against a wall in a crowded street rolls nat20 with a +10 to stealth
be a shadow monk with boots of elvenkind
the shadow monk can turn invisible and teleport between shadows
for free
and the boots literally "makes your steps completely silent"

how do i get these boots?
make a compelling backstory so you start with them, or plead for your dm to have them in a magic shop you come across
be a warlock with thaumaturgy and prestidigation
E Z
or, ask your friendly neighborhood artificer to create them
distract, misdirect and run
Val c'mon i just gave you a hat of disguise self
assuming there is one if or when i get to play a shadow monk
oh i'm not talking in our campaign i mean i'm already an arcane tricster
also M31 can make the boots
Yep
i just figure they have more use helping our not so stealthy party members
Slashing and literally stealing their blood to fuel their next attacks
hmm
so... whatchu making me?
right so it's a subclass that falls under the sangromancy school of magic
is a rogue/wizard like arcane trickster but with blood magic
thats cool
I can make your sword and shield magical(+1, + effects)
or something else

ideally I'd like to have all my attunement stuffs on everyone else
just thinking if yaromir ends up staying behind again lets get him/us a ship he can be the captain of and have him take us to the various destinations we need to go to
most of the actual magic items would need you to be 10th lv anyway so don't worry about me
now buying it is an option but we probably won't be able to afford it so we could maybe steal one
lets just keep these other dummys alive long enough
yee
lv10 I can make cloak of protection as well
dummy reporting for duty
and the defence/offence things become +2

but he's pretty stronk already
at lv10, I can also have 4 infusions active at once
infusions = magic items/enchantments
The same way you are gonna give me Spell scrolls.....
right....?
you get spell scrolls when you earn them
you do have the gold for things so i will allow you to get magic itmes if you find a blacksmith
how much do items cost again?
this^ Elara gets spell scrolls when I think she earned em
steals spell scrolls
50 to get it to +1, 100 for 20+ becoming a crit, 200 for added damage die
Circle of Scarlet and Theft of Vitae on you
misty step and hides before u can cast any spells
jokes on you I never had spells to start with
I have an pretty high Investigation and Perception skill from what I remember
So get outta here
i got a +10 on stealth
here's the issue with that
I'm a fighter, my constitution is my entire thing
I'm making that save
meanwhile I have bonked you and you died in one hit
2 more levels and u literaly can't see me cuz then i get to have invisibility
I wouldn't hurt a Bulwark Warrior they are too coll
couldn't*
Sure
That's what they all see till they get blasted with Snese Lifeblood empowered Msgic Missiles and Theft of Vitae cast immediately after as a reaction
you don't have enough spell slots to kill me
except u can't cast all of those in 1 turn
I have too many hit points
has brooch of shielding
is immune to magic missile
lv.6 chars bullying a lv.2 wizard
even if he was lv6, he still couldn't kill me
My Investigation modifier is already an 6 and I'm just lvl 2
I'm gonna find that boi
they stack and you can in theory sink your gold into it
finding something hidden is perception
no reason not too tbh

my stealth mod is 10 and will be 11 when i hit lv.8
you're not investigaing anything- if instead you want to track him, it'd be survival
or was it nature

dm knows

i like to think that since liger is a tabaxi and has claws i can climb on any surface made of wood cuz i can just put my claws into them so i can climb upside down across beams in the roof in stealth
The ultimate version - contains the whole fight from the very beginning with a seamless splice at 1:47 so that the songs ends at the end of the clip.
Inspired by @yu6btemz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mJj16dE07s
and @lunarlexomancer4906 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fZvdmseHdk
This is in my head the average Bulwark Warrior
takes on 3 main chars kicks their ass
i prefer he remains nameless and faceless but i do want this guy to be an official and returning char
tabaxi have climbing speed equal to their walking speed, so yup !
you can do that

specificaly piced tabaxi cuz i wanted the stealth and claws of cats
also i figured they would have dark vision
seems important for a class based around stealth
that's half of what Val gets to hide
Oh no we know exactly who this guy is, his motives and look and all
Well he's a rogue build for that and I'm a Sangromancer who just got lucky on his stat rolls

I am kinda interested in which party would win in a fight
assuming they were the same level of course
this rogue trait is fun
lowest roll you can do with anything you're proficient in, is 10
before additions
Ooh one session of imaginary combat against each other!
could be fun
Although that would be a biz difficult with Aizo having to play two characters
and sneke playing two characters
Oh shit right
Sneke is not often enough here so I forget about him
I do think Justin's party wins, I think the rogues carry unironically
I often forget Myrdle too
like they just wouldn't be found
rogues are also squishy
Hmm I say Rhea will be able to debalitate them enough and oir fighters can deal enoigh damage and tank till Jo-Rah can blast them with SL empowered Magic Missiles or Circle of Scarlet
assuming we won't targer jo-rah and Rhea first
Once at half hp it gets very easy for Jo-Rah to finish them off
Rhea and Jo-Rah hide behind their fighters 30 feet away

Then we still got Tuan the Warlock
He is probably gonna Eldritch Blast you all too and can go Nova with some big spells
misty steps behind u and gets the benefit of suprise attack and hits u with booming blade
a good role and ur not getting a turn or a second turn
still can't hit what you can't see
Myrdle is also there and I am just gonna assume she is gonna be a Vermin Lord
yup, the stealth is the biggest issue
Which will be good
they'll likely get surprise on us

unless Rhea somehow spots them with her passive perception
have M31 give me and sparks stealth items as well
If Sense Lifeblood would actually do what the name suggests I could sense them but it doesn't do that weirdly enough
and elara can open with a fireball
and M31 and Yaromir are tankier then the GH fighters
Shouldn't my passive perception be higher?
Counterspell
you're a wizard, it shouldn't
does that disable it or turn it around on the caster?
clerics and monks generally have the highest perception
I've got 15
other thing is, the GH party is much more reliant on spellcasting
Don't remembee anymore how the perceptio is getting calculated but my sheet says 15
16
Very true
hypoteticaly if we did wanna try party vs party what level would we pick?
I would assume bring everyone up to 6
Anywas Rhea can possibly make spellcasters not use half of their spells cause of the Eldritch effects
good for them cuz at 7 i get shadow blade which is psycich dmg
which is why i'm targeting her first
Can we do 7 so I gez Circle of Scarlez too?
I don't know which eldritch effect I get- I got 1 in 8 chance to get the "no spells" one
no
Rhea resiszs that one if I'm not wrong
Eh all of them are good
there's some funny "fall prone" ones though- and of course the big "choose action or movement not both" ones
Yea depending on it id we have familiars also pre casted then I got an Familiar for the party
familiar ain't gonna do much
Telekinetic will also allow me to get our fighters put of fights with no opportunity attack penalty
if we did party vs party with cannons current campaigns i would feel less optimistic as i'm not yet familiar with my parties abilities and we lack range
And Blood Bond can empower one strongly and I can cast many spells and cantrips through them
unfortunately, it has 1hp and it instantly dies
As long as I get to bite it with my hungry jaws so I get a bit of temporary hit points it's alright
gets 1HP and a cruse cuz u killed ur own familiar
the biggest issue if we did pvp as cannon says- is that the fight would likely start with a surprise round
where their rogues just straight up destroys Rhea and Jo-Rah, then slinks back into the shadows, and our tougher fighters
would have to find them, or get sneak attacked again
dnd isn't designed around pvp after all
Nah I get 3

Eh we'll get them
you also forget that Yaromir is a sticking machine now, you literally can't get away from him if he gets close
u won't get a turn
at lv.6 i get to suprise attack u with booming blade
would be fun however- to have a oneshot thing post-campaign, where we're all high level (at least 16+) where
the rest of the party takes on Rhea by herself, who has gone insane
even with low rolls i'm bound to do solid dmg and u won't be able to move without taking dmg
but for that fight, I'd ask to have the "amulet of the devout" for the spell save
would be fun
see if a high-level Rhea could control all of them to kill each other before they reach her
Doesn't Yaromir suck massively at intelligence? Jo-Rah casts Enemies Abound and now he kills his party

And besides that anyone who doesn't have ranged attacks and relies on melee can get a Levitate and they will literally be stuck for the whole fight in the air and can't do anything
Jo-Rah still got controll spells too
Hmm it was his Charisma?
Not talking about Yaromir and Levitate
Saying anyone who relies on melee only with no other thing
Hmm perhaps your Monk
But yea Yaromir would get hit with Enemies Abound
again tho, you're assuming that you just get to do this stuff and our party isn't gonna do anything to stop you
the party from tomb of annihilation would probably kick both our parties asses or?
anyone attempts to act hostile towards anyone of M31's friends, she goes into a rage
she nearly engaged the big bandit boss that branded liger

Hey on whose side are you? Root for your players
I root for my own damn character tyvm
from what i understand the brand won't have much of a negative effect unles we return to the city
liger left confused as hes target vanished infront of him
Although looking it would seem like Enmies Abound is better on ranged characters since each time the possesed person gets attacked he has another chance of making the saving throw
Nuh uh
one part ur missing is u need to succeed on hitting him and have him fail the save
The problem we got here is that we can't calculate the other members of the Grim Hollow crew well since they don't share enough here in order to know what subclass and character they will be
I still wonder so much ehat they are gonna do
I am 60% sure Myrdle is gonna be a Vermin Lord
Since she already got the rat theme
Beans honestly has probably no idea either what his subclass gonna be cause Cannon forced him into playing Fighter for the first time
Travesty is also not quite sure what he wants to become
he could make a meme char called beans and have him be a tank with heavy armor that looks like a big can
so he becomes can of beans

Don't say that while he's around cause he would totally start doing that
But he already is the funny guy in oir dark and gritty campaign
He literally is illiterate and his journal is some scribble no one can decipher and has randomly numbers used there too instead of letters
unliterate?
And he got a pet Rat in his backpacket
Oh fuck
isn't it illiterate?
he did get hit with this a similar spell. He was outta action for a round or two but yelled as a free action to stay clear of him
I wasn't even out of action
Yarrrr Omir
I was still hitting the enemies cause they were the closest targets
yup
Can any of yoir characters go and touch people with an invisible mage hand though?
Oh the evil you could do with one
He is Telekinetic?
Liger was able to signal an NPC in a very tense standoff
How am I supposed to know
Arcane Trickster is just the boring Misfortune Bringer

Next time he should just use the hand to grab the enemies by the balls
Sangromancer is just a evocation wizard with a blood fetish
It will confuse them (and possibly arrouse them) so much that they will let their guard down and Val can get advantage

you rolled a 1 and missed
maybe you should reconsider relying on a class' "brokenness" to carry you through a campaign and focus on personal flavour for things....
tho i could do such a thing it's weird so i won't
also mage hand isn't very strong in terms of grip i think
Bro what is it with you? Have you seen all the shit I write and how I love lore, reflavour stuff and work on the theme?
behave
Just cause I also like to try to make combat nice and as cool as my rest stuff doesn't mean I don't know or do the other
u just give the impression ur trying to make Jo-rah as strong as possible
^^ and twist things from 5e out of their mechanics
Is it wrong to make your character good both rp and mechanically?

not at all
If you wanna make sure of the fact that I love storytelling and rp the most you can always be up to let me DM a game
i remember u refering to some other subclasses as being worse then others
no such thing
no bad classes or chars only bad luck and bad players
i am
I didn't play Skyrim for over one thousand hรถurs cause it is mechanically the most fun but cause no other game allowed such freedom of roleplay
witcher
I don't like DnD cause I cam go and roll a dice to make a big number but because I can roleplay, make cool stories and do that alongside other people
tho u are locked into being geralt
You are Literatur forced into a character

minecraft
That uh.... is debatable...
minecraft is one of the gratest games made i think
Anywas invintation is still open for anyone who wants to either do a one shot or interested in a full campaign
it's "improvement" are questionable but purely from what u can do with creativity it's an amazing game
I'm excited to see Rhea grow
as am i
is my first time playing an actual caster- and even then
she's not just your average "spam huge flashy spells" caster
yeah around the neck of the BBEG
it's a magic item specifically for clerics- it has three rarities; +1, +2 and +3
and it increases your spell save by it's rarity number, and gives an extra use of channel divinity
I hoped I could start with the weakest one(+1) off killing one of the inquisitors
but I guess the item is too good for early characters

i can't think of what i wanna do so i think i'll finaly make my dullahan
now which class did i decide on again
i wanted to multiclass warlock atleast
aizo u happen to remember?

you at least talked of paladin and warlock
you mentioned being a knight character, but also having access to some spells
so like, paladin, or eldritch knight maybe
though you also mentioned warlock
telepathy is great, Kevin was funny with it
i loved just using message to talk but vocally he oculd only say one word
plan is to make a dullahan char
you could start with the variant human race, and start with "telepathic" feat
that is the plan
warlock is to not be limited in a telepathy
i won't need to know the language
but yes i think oath of vengence and great old one multiclass is what i want
if you specifically want the warlock's great one telepathy you can start as that, since you get it lv1, and multiclass into a knight class later

i can still start as having heavy armor and big sword?
armor most important
no, need paladin or other heavy class for that
is why I suggested being a variant human so you start with telepathy, and just be a paladin or eldritch knight(fighter)

i likely will or atleast be something that allows to to get telepathy the benefit of the warlock is i won't need to know the language
true
i think i'll start oath of vengeance for armor as such
and think about if i want warlock later or not
now, do you want oath of vengeance, or oath of zeal from grim hollow

zeal is basically "the other vengance"
it will be difficult for me to stick to the oath i feel
actualy nvm
eldritch knight is also a heavy armour class with spells
yup
just remember not to have that be too broad
because as an oath, that'd mean you'd have to pursue and attempt execution if you saw someone be cruel in the city

did you read "the box" short story in the book cannon sent?
how could i possibly sit idly by while acts of cruelty is being commited infront of me
the one with the girl?
yee, I considered having it be Rhea's backstory, and the girl be Rhea

but, the point is- notice how the inquisitors just flat out executes the mother and children in the streets, because they believe it right?
if i was in the grim hollow campaign i would be a hostile to the inquisition by default
an oath to eradicate all evil/bad peepos, would mean doing exactly that, if you believed them "bad" even in the middle of a city
true
is part of why playing a paladin can be difficult- though I'm sure our dms won't be too mean

i think vengeance fits best since i want vengeance against whoever cursed me
unlike BG3, paladin oaths have a lot more wiggle room
i like devotion
simply attempt to talk peepos out of fighting first
but you're allowed to actively engage demons and undead and such
roll for stats, then delete and make the same character and roll again, rinse repeat
until you god-roll and get full 18s

6,2,5,2=13
just kidding, that's cheating of course
wait no
math>.<
yes is right 13
4,3,3,2=10
3,6,5,3=14
3,5,5,6=16
a good one
2,3,4,6=13
i think thats over all pretty good
16,14,13,13,13,10
actualy not 1 below 10 is really good isn't it?
probably can go something like
Str: 16
Dex: 13
Con: 14
Int: 10
Wis: 13
Cha: 13
you wanted to be mainly paladin, right?
yup, like this then

charisma is your spell modifier, so you "could" move the 14 into that, and 13 into con
but as a melee character, you kind of want a good amount of health
and smite doesn't work off charisma anyway
variant human i can get both charisma and wisdom to 14 as well
yup
is there any race that comes with the telepathy feat?
or con and str to 17 and 15- then you'd only need one ASI to get both to 18 and 16
or ability to pick a feat like variant human?
oh yeah i could do that
ghostwise halflings, and verdan have inherent telepathy
