I mean there's been a consistent outcry over the lack of 1.x reruns for a while now, it's not like the demand isn't there. Many will want Yinlin just for collection purposes, and also because Electro pretty much doesn't exist unless you pulled Augusta on one of her two banners
A buff for 1.x characters is very needed and is a possibility but I honestly don't expect one.
There's also the added prospect of, Kuro seems to prefer now running characters in dps+support pairs, so a Yinlin rerun could also signal a Xiangli Yao rerun alongside her

Like I said, her existence for me is purely on a collectible level. She's a figurine to display on a shelf(the character list). I consider signature weapons to be a package deal with characters in that regard, so not having her sig means she's missing a piece and is incomplete. So if I get her, I will have that nagging feeling to get her sig so she doesn't bother me by feeling forever like a jigsaw puzzle with a piece lost.
And I mean, if I pass on her, I'll be in the same spot as any new players who start after the collab ends.

Everyone's standards are different to be fair there is no pleasing everyone. Which is why I don't think the lore connections should matter too much with collabs, it should more be factored in whether or not they feel like a natural part of the setting and not jarring weird out of place like the Nier raids in FFXIV

Generally collabs try to work themselved into the lore in a compatible way, they aren't usually 100% separated. WuWa is the first instance of that in my experience and only with the bike liveries
But yeh it's not something to get worked up over because story and lore are very much YMMV, and plenty of people don't even play for the lore or story at all
