I dunno if it's gatekeeping really, the amount of things locked behind something feels the same as usual. But usually the game is pretty good at making it obvious, and that obviousness has felt rather lacking in Nod-Krai.

None of the previous regions filled my quest log so fast as this one just while exploring. Even Natlan with all of the unmarked Little One miniquests wasn't nearly this bad
It's just weird that the exploration this time around is so terrible, especially with how return to form the story feels. Obviously doesn't hold a candle to Fontaine but it's easily overtaken Sumeru as second place imo.

Yeh it's an amazing start, once it's all finished it very well could dethrone Fontaine. I'm wary tho, cuz Natlan had a very strong start but the finish and overall package turned to a disappointment

Fontaine is weird with the dailies cuz you got a good bit that are super fast and simple, very nice. But a lot of them are super tedious and involve excessive amounts of npc dialogue, slow-moving npcs escorting and of course that particularly annoying one with the guy next to the fishing spot outside of Poisson

Natlan dailies weren't all that much better than Fontaine's imo, Sumeru seemed to be the best region for them if you weren't trying to unlock things that required specific regional dailies. Nod-Krai seems pretty good so far on the dailies

The most likely reason is so that we'd have more collectibles for map % completion. But between the sheer amount added and the fact that about a third of Sanguis Plateaus is inaccessible I think they're also likely to be useable for a future Septimont map expansion.

Apparently it's not a companion quest just a small world quest that doesn't even give any significant rewards. The Aino anecdote is also apparently not locked behind owning Lauma she just speeds it up by not requiring you to complete the previous anecdote five times. Not that it makes much a difference, it's still pretty scummy and together with the Masterless Stella Fortuna is a very worrisome direction for the game to go in.

And I argue with my logical self before doing any swipes so I dont get to do it much despite 1-2 swipes is worth a few days of work

- If it’s a good collectors unit, likelihood
