We had abolished it , then we had a 2 year power deficit issue where the country couldn't pay for how much electricity it was using so they brought it back as a power saving measure and they haven't dropped it since 🤷♂️ it should swap Nov 1st iirc

the idea is you use less electricity during the day cuz less lighting is required so you base your schedule around daylight. if you keep the lights on all night or run 24/7 it's not gonna make any difference so in places like the US where that's the case it should be abolished.
