Hey everyone,

What are some really good Chessable opening courses where the recommended lines/style are for "attacking players"?

There's a lot of courses out now so I'm struggling a bit to pick out what courses to buy. I'm also 2000+ OTB so I'm perfectly fine with anything that's pretty advanced. I don't have a spending budget, but I don't want to waste too much money and time either.

To give anyone here an idea, the Morra is something that genuinely captivates me.

Obviously I'm not willing to play recommendations that aren't sound, i.e. I have tried Grandmaster Gambits by Simon Williams, but lines the Hillbilly Attack against the Caro-Kann are just ridiculous.

I know I can't have my cake an eat it too in terms of what I'm looking for, but anything that gets remotely close that you guys can recommend would be great. I'm willing to take several recommendations cause at my level, I'll have to vary my repertoire at several points.

did this not come up when searching?

@sour violet

#

you can get a very good repertoire for white + black under 100 usd

#

Logozar's e4 + David Anton's e5 + Schandorff's QGD or Lundi's Classical Slav is my budget pick

Looking at the LTR option at the very bottom, what would you recommend for 1.Nf3, 1.c4, and others when combining it with either L'Ami's Slav or Krishnater's QGD?

#

Yeah, you can't really find anything to cover them

#

if you're looking at the "bigger" options

#

the reversed sicilian is the main choice vs english

#

Krishnater is working on a repertoire against Nf3/c4

#

Schandorff's QGD covers Nf3/c4 aswell

#

L'ami doesn't cover c4/Nf3 either

#

against English or Reti

#

you can play for a Slav or QGD transposition

#

of course white isn't inclined to do so but you'll get a familiar setup

#

and if you want to challenge the english head-on you do so with the reversed sicilian

#

It's a lot of work overall

#

I have 3 LTRs im using

#

Gajewski's e4, Werle's e5 & Schandorff's QGD to cover English/Reti

#

that goes to about 1300 trainables which is pretty good considering how in-depth everything is

#

Ganguly has a sidelines LTR that's new

#

I like the approach he took

#

i wish he went with reversed sicilian

#

shankland's sidelines course is by far his worst course

#

and super unambitious

#

I'm not able to edit my messages in the forum post

#

but if I would

#

If you're looking at the classical slav I would add Nil's Classical Slav as an option

#

Lundi's Slav is cheap, friendly club option

#

Nil's Slav is that friendly master-level repertoire

#

and i know a few titled people that have been using it for years

#

L'ami's Slav is a bible, I would consider it on that advanced level of FM trying to go for IM

#

like some courses are just a bit much, if you have huge goals in chess and want to put in 8 hours into chess every day to climb for a title then those options would be like that

#

Colovic has a very good QGD course that covers the Reti & English, I love his work and writing style

#

but it's not as ambitious as Schandorff's repertoire

Yeah

#

how old are you now?

#

im trying to go for at least FM, but ideally if I can go higher that'd be nice at 23

#

if you have the money to spend

#

and really want to go for it

#

you can invest into the LTRs

#

don't buy videos

#

chessable videos are a fucking ripoff lmao

to be a strong chess player
