Decently old player here that just got back to the game, pulled a lot of nice things including minos. Got 1.5k platinum and I'm wondering if I should spend them on my level 53 kid or start minos, or maybe buy a weapon or 2.

Sell Kid, maybe put the plat into Minos. Minos i still wouldn't 100% reccomend in today's meta, but it could probably hold up depending on the build. I reccomend getting a newer titan tho if possible.

Did sell kid and am now using minos, wasn't sure if upgrades would be worth it now that there is no discount, I really don't want to spend all that on a few weapons or save up and get another titan

Use a titans that work at low investment (bersaglire, murometz, bedwyr, indra) and save to ~10k plat so you can get the ue pad when titanic effort lb rolls around
