How to charge Trebuchets

New player here, wondering if the Trebuchet still charges up. Im not seeing them glow after 18 seconds, not seeing them do extra damage they'll hit for about 20k everytime nobmatter how long i wait, running 2 trebs.
Everything I look up online says they charge and when I asked in general chat they say they should.
Am I missing something like ammo or do I need to leave energy in my build??

they chage when you're not firing them

you should see the icon reloading/building up

I get the 4 second reload then nothing after, tried standing still aswell, will try and post a video.
Was wondering if its a pilot perk somewhere?

Did you try waiting instead of instantly firing?

wait 10 sec after firing, see if it recharges, thats how it does so

After the initial reload, u can see the ammo bar slowly grow longer.. thats when it charges the damage

Video is 6:30 long but I initially fired wepons at start of match, no glowing, no indication of the trebs charging, they will do 18-20k per hit if i wait 20 seconds or 1 second
