DP doesn't get useless when it gets higher, unless enemy have DP mitigation or true damage thingy.
The rate at which that % stacks up is reduced, but the rate at which effective HP stacks up is still the same. Simply put, the 1% difference between 0% and 1% is not the same as the 1% difference between 50% and 51%.
