What pilot skills should I put on my mauler

I think you should definitely put ferocious guardian on it, it lets you do even more damage when your darklight is active! In my opinion, you should use ferocious guardian for your secondary skill, because you have "hook" active more often than "dark light." In addition, i think you should definitely put mechanic on it. The module rework is coming soon, and mauler will only have 1 TRA then... it'll be much more vulnerable, so mechanic will be huge. In addition, definitely put the "titan slayer" skill on it. Maulers will always have to fight other maulers, and the titan slayer skill allows you to do extra damage to those pesky red maulers. You should also put the "road hog" skill on it. Mauler is one of the slowest titans in the game, and nina kessler and its secondary skill "hook" allows you to move faster, but road hog is still very important for mauler.

I’ve been seriously impressed with how you’ve mastered the Mauler, especially as a free-to-play player—you’ve clearly put in the dedication and skill to build something that’s both powerful and resilient. I’m aiming to set mine up to be a true tank on the battlefield, something that can hold its own under heavy fire with a lot of health, but also pack enough punch to deal serious damage when it counts.

first off, congratulations on your mauler! now you can finally move on from your little eiffel, haha. for mauler, you want to prioritize your abilities more so than anything, as they make a huge difference. dark light is what really lets you exceed in killing other maulers, and hook is day and night for you to survive in your titan. mauler is one of the few that don't rely on stacking more hp/dp onto its already existing stats, though they are always welcome of course. i personally have a t1 armour expert and tough guy on my level 20 nina kessler, and i have performed well capitalizing on my abilities.

on that note, i recommend getting deft survivor primary, and clever survivor primary/secondary for your mauler. this is because deft survivor secondary is actually bugged on the mauler and does not trigger! i do not know why, and wish this was addressed. poor players spending their memorium on a skill that does not even work...anyways. then put armour skills such as armour expert, tough guy etc on your mauler and same with defence points to make it even more unkillable than it alrewady is! lol. i avoid skills that end with "ist", such as generalist and rationalist as those skills have low stat distribution. i would rather get for example 6% extra damage, than 2% split damage, hp, what not.

Thanks! Finally moving on from the Eiffel and stepping up with the Mauler feels good, haha. I appreciate the tips! I’ll definitely focus on abilities like Dark Light and Hook—they seem like the key to really making the Mauler shine. I totally get what you mean about how it doesn’t rely as much on stacking HP/DP, but adding a bit of that extra tankiness definitely can’t hurt. Your setup with Nina Kessler sounds solid, and I like the idea of capitalizing on the abilities instead of just stacking more stats. I’ll also take your advice on Deft Survivor and Clever Survivor, especially since the secondary on Deft is bugged. That’s frustrating, but at least it’s good to know to avoid wasting resources on it. And yeah, I see what you mean about avoiding “ist” skills like Generalist or Rationalist. The low stat distribution doesn’t seem worth it when you could grab something that gives you a clear, solid boost in damage. I’m definitely going to stick with armor skills and defense points to make my Mauler as tanky as possible while still hitting hard. Thanks again for the insight, it’s super helpful!

What user sev717 said. If you are F2P or a low spender you should also keep in mind the changes that Specialization could bring about. I have checked those for Mauler but I am afraid of the probability of it getting nerfed next month because of the new Titan may affect it more drastically. Also the specialization modules are not set in stone right now. I would avoid doing anything till that happens. For now I primarily use Indra/Luchador on my accounts.

I must congratulate you again for finally moving on from that eiffel... I know you tried to get a mauler before, but got really unlucky, ended up with tons of acids and pilots... You were a really skilled eiffel pilot, i hope you become as good with mauler as you were with eiffel, you will be a terror on the battlefield, i wouldn't want to run into you haha. I also feel slightly moderately bad for you because you had to upgrade two extra anguishers for your eiffel, which kind of stinks because mauler only has one alpha and two beta slots. Well, maybe you can try Anguisher bersagliere some day, that would go crazy, bersagliere actually has enough hp to brawl which is kind of crazy. And yes, make sure to not use the deft survivor on the secondary ability "hook," the bug has been around for a while now... I hope pixonic fixes it, but it doesn't even seem like they have taken notice. Make sure to upgrade your pilot when there's a big discount!

These are skills on my old Mauler. I play DOM or BR mostly hence the adamant guardian skill. titan slayer cause I mostly use my mauler to maul enemy titans, bots are food at that point except maybe the dux and condor now. atm the more health you have the better since that increases your chances to stay on the battlefield. i have defence expert-primary for a reason. when i dash the dot usually offsets the damage so i don't need defence points. i need them when i am using my darklight, cause i only use them when i am fighting and in case i lost my dashes. 40 is nothing but it is what it is.

i recommend trying to work the mauler in custom match and learning the cooldowns instinctively. also not just cooldowns but how much the ability stays active.
