#how much damage reduction is 150 DP

Nah, no way it’s 99%
Yeah, you're right
There must be a way to calculate it right?
idk how
but basically the way it works is
50dp=33%
150 dp=66%
20dp=20%
500 dp=95%
1000000000=96%
something like that
the point is that its like a quadratic function or something
so at some point it doesn't matter how many more dp you got cause they do nothing
but yes, 150 is a lot i think. maybe 66%?
No
Well yes, but it scales using 100 / (100+#)
So 50 Defense would be 100/150, or 33%
So 100/250 is 60% damage reduction
To calculate 150 Defense ^
Simpler than most people think
Um actually it is a rational function (parent function 1/x) with the function as x/(x+100) where x is defense points, as x approaches infinity f(x) approaches but never goes to 1 and f(x) times 1pp represents damage resistance as a % so it's impossible to reach 100% 🤓☝️
Contrary to popular belief it's actually not diminishing returns assuming no defense mitigation for example 100DP is 50% resistance but 2 50s make 100 so twice the amount of effective health or +100%, 300DP is 75% and 4 25%s make 100 so quadruple the effective health or +300%. Defense points is equal to "extra health percentage" and defense mitigation basically ignores a certain % of this "extra health percentage" 🤓☝️
If defense points stacked "linerarly" each defense point would have progressively greater effects through effective health represented by the equation 1/(1-x) where x is damage reduction (not DP), for example 25% DR is 133% EH, 50% DR is 200% EH, 75% DR is 400% EH, 80% DR is 500% EH, 90% DR is 1000% EH, 99% DR is 10000% EH, 99.9% DR is 100000% EH, and 100% DR is INFINITY% EH aka godmode 🤓☝️
Yes I put time and effort into this and I'm not sorry, this stuff also applies to suppression (% damage reduction), speed, and more (for example someone walking at 0.25 m/s will take 4 times more time to get somewhere than someone walking at 1 m/s and a person who stands still or 0 m/s will never get anywhere)
Yes I am a math nerd and now you too can use it in video games 🤓☝️
But to answer your question, 150/250 = 0.6 which is 60% DR
TL:DR search it up
You had to make it complicated again
Im not hating, just disappointed that it wasn’t simple
Defense points = extra percentage of health you have based on current health (assuming no defense mit)
So if I had 69420 defense points I would theoretically have 69420% extra health.
Yeah I get that
The nerd stuff was mostly me venting but it's true and useful info for anyone who wants to calculate defense point stuff instantly
Coulda just corrected my equation to x/(x+100)
