So this is my raijin.
My highest lvl bot, took around 6 mil to get it to lvl 10 i think and just a few days.
Guns on the other hand took a while. And main reason it's good is because it has good guns.
It's not useful on all maps, it's basically a stationary long range turret with high hp.
So here is why i think it's a very good short term investment up to gold league (and above if needed) specially for f2p:
1: it's cheap. 2500 gold might be alot for new player, but it's the cheapest good thing they can get with gold.
2: it's nice. Specially with the skins but the concept itself is pretty good. Wish it's sheilds were larger or it's legs wouldn't stick so much out but it's a dope bot nonetheless!
3: it's fast and cheap to upgrade. Based on wiki it takes 11.5d and ~60mil to get lvl 12, but they've changed that recently and i think it takes around 25mil to get to lvl 12 now. That's alot less than t4 robots. Meaning you can get a very decent bot and have fun with it while working on your t4 bots.
4: it's expendable. So now you have a mk2 lvl 6 raijin. Upgrading it any further would be meaningless unless you're a collectioner. And you finally got the behemoth/erebus that you've always wanted. Just switch it! Not like you bought it in a pack just for it to get nerfed.
5: it makes use of little. So it has 2 large hard points. As you know light and large weapons take the same amount of silver and time to up. But the damage is very different. And on top of that raijin gives a 40% increase.
So you get most out of minimal investment in it's guns.
Now why i think it's only a short term investment and not good for gold and above: because it isn't. In higher leagues you need t4 bots and that 2 extra module slot to get an edge. Thats just how it works. I'm probably going to use mine in gold but thats just because i have to as it will be my highest lvl bot for a while. But I'll switch it for erebus when i can.

why raijin is bad. 1. Leo is a much better brawler with simillar tankiness, higher firepower, and much more cheaper than raijin.
2. if you're looking for a sniper build then natasha is better with higher firepower. Also snipers have to be mobile and the physical shields for raijin dont really help much for a sniper.
3. raijin is slow. and is easily targetted. Its expensive compared to many other better t1 bots.
4. 2.5k gold is actually a lot for a newcomer. They would rather use natashas with 1m silver than 2.5k gold raijin.
5. its expensive and only a little better than natasha.
6. There are lots of other better choices which are more flexible rather than this immovable tank. (what i mean is very slow)
conclusion. Raijin is expensive yet only a little better than bots which are much cheaper.

raijin is a very vulnerable bot compared to the meta, it may be cheap, it may look formidable for its low value, but it will still look like an easy target to pretty much every other meta bot. only get and upgrade raijin if you are so unlucky to get other meta bots, otherwise no. the raijin could be a very good bot but sadly the meta is too broken for raijin to compete
raijin’s advantage over leo and natasha is its ability to increase both defence and offense along with raw power, which is not a bad choice for 2.5k gold over a silver bot that has no ability and only relies on raw strength
