#What's the funniest/best/most unique robot the game ever made?

I'm guessing a large crowd could argue that it's the Hover. It's ability is probably the most enjoyable for anyone who explores or escapes maps, and it's the only robot in the game capable of flying in all directions. It was also the very first robot to be able to fly forever. It's really useful for glitches such as escaping or just fooling around in general like trying to carry someone, although it's flight speed could use some work.

Although I love my own Hover and have had it for 5 years, I know there are a lot more fun robots I have never really had the ability to try.

Although it's not really an old robot, just about every dash bot including the Nether is generally a fun robot. They have fun gameplay in terms of dodging or catching someone off guard. Personally although I have a Nether, I have always wanted a Kuhimo. I think the 5 second reload and generally short dashes would be fun to play with. I should also note that dash bots are good at glitches as well; especially the Nether as it's able to cross an entire map or escape using sheer speed. You can also accelerate another player if they are in the air and you hit them while dashing.

I know this is a bit of a summary of groups but the Pantheon, Dragons, and Shapeshifters are all fun or unique robots to play as. Maybe not not because of some difference in technology but throughout history they have been an interesting bunch. For me, although I have an Ares I would say that the Nemesis would be my favorite Pantheon, in place of my Ao Jun I think the Ao Qin is cooler, and I never had any shapeshifters but a Tyr in my personal opinion has the coolest playstyle.

Some honorable mentions throughout history are the Rayker, Jaeger, Skyros because of pushing people, and Fujin for style points and nostalgia and Rajin for being the closest to climbing walls (it used to).

The Minos, Shell, Ochokochi, Rook, and Arthur all have a similar unique trait of pushing people in a radius. This is extremely useful in terms of fooling around and finding glitches. Even more so the Newton's ability will definitly age well.

The Imugi is a really interesting robot in the fact that it can teleport people to their death.

In my eyes Falcon goes in the list for being a unique and fun robot to play with.

Falcon has an interesting design with a "forced Shapeshift", introducing completely new strategies to the game. The T-Falcon sadly loses the versatility of the standard version, but even then it remains a unique tank by playing mostly by Defense Points rather than sheer durability.

And my other pick would be the Bulwark for how innovative it was back in the days.

Imagine : you have had Ancile shielding for years, and you want to introduce a new "ultimate" protection system that doesn't care about what it is being shot at. Ancile self-regenerates at a steady speed, and the operator doesn't have to worry if it depletes, or between two fights. And what they did to balance the Aegis was genuinely genius : you trade your superior shielding capabilities for a manual recharge. You can't just stay idle under your shield, you have to handle a precise timing if you want to exploit it at maximum capacity. It's a real-time gambit to disable the shield for it to recharge between two skirmishes for example. And if you disabled your shield at a wrong time, you are exposed for several seconds without being able to switch back immediately.

A detail they corrected with Jaeger, whose shield recharges at all times, should it be enabled or disabled, and it has basically no cooldown to switch between the modes.

Those are both very good points; I guess I didn't recognize how much of a gambit the playstyle of even my own Falcon is; I should use it more often. The Bulwark is in itself a perfect example of balancing a new idea.

#

I guess playstyle is such an aspect to be considered. Something that could be interesting yet done arguably wrong in this game could be Mars. In many games, the character or tank that throws the turret make up for this advantage by being weak, but the Mars is powerful on it's own.

#

In my opinion a good idea would be to have instead of a turret you throw, you throw one of your weapons. The main body would have 2 weapons, and your throwable one could have a completely different playstyle. Say you have 2 long range weapons and you throw a Shotgun; or your short ranged and throw something like a Razdor to an angle it can hit someone. This would be a perfect Mars for playstyle compared to what we have now.

I really like nightingale although i dont have it it is super funny

#

Its a cool support bot with its suppression shots and the healing cycle

sharp quarry
#

It does have a very nice playstyle and feel to it

rare phoenix
#

Exactly

sharp quarry
#

I think the Leech is also pretty cool as a bot; reflecting damage onto someone else is pretty useful

rare phoenix
#

Yes i also like it but cant run it as it needs way to much effort to perform good

#

Also blitz or phantoms playstyle is very interesting and cool as the ability itself is nothing near overpowerd

#

Plus cerberus as it was the first to have a emp v2.0

#

But they all fall behind todays bots

#

My personal special is revenant

#

I really enjoy it

sharp quarry
#

I think my favorite parts of Revenant and Scorpion is teleporting across the map

#

It's kind of difficult but a bit unintended

rare phoenix
#

I like the 1v1 combat that is forced if u play revenant

#

Like most enemies dont have a choice then to battle against the revenant if u teleport to them

#

Plus the surprise element

sharp quarry
#

You cen still troll a Revenant pretty easily if your prepared in the moment

sharp quarry
#

I think the Weyland is a pretty good idea; a slow station that everyone would huddle around for health back before everyone didn't need it

rare phoenix
#

Yes

#

I actually like wayland too

#

Just misses the special gray healing pilot

sharp quarry
#

maybe if it healed grey hp or gave defense points in it's radius it would be used more commonly

rare phoenix
#

Although that gray damage healing would instantly make it op as the healing goes forever if the ability is activated

sharp quarry
#

but it's a pretty small amount

rare phoenix
#

Wild thought but isnt the wayland a shapeshifter too

sharp quarry
#

well it's a spider type robot; techically Fujin and Rajin could shapeshift but the only 3 with the Shapeshifter title are the Loki Tyr and Fenrir

rare phoenix
#

Fafnir too if i remember correctly

sharp quarry
#

I guess Skyros could have the same style so maybe that could count

#

Fafnir and Ao Ming are useful platforms probably to land on

rare phoenix
sharp quarry
#

I mean if you land on them normally they sink downward but if you disconnect then they they don't sink

rare phoenix
sharp quarry
#

They do get pushed downward

rare phoenix
#

Why tho

sharp quarry
#

It doesn't effect their flight angle like Hawk or Seraph though

#

Let me fetch my flight guide; it might shed some light

#

#1122680750630776862

#

They just had the type of flight where hitting an angle wouldn't change their flight axis

plain wadi
#

Most unique is schutze

sharp quarry
#

but the reason they get pushed downward is because the game has a sense of weight, and even in controlled flight they are pushed

rare phoenix
sharp quarry
#

About 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hour of thought and listing

rare phoenix
#

Wow

sharp quarry
#

but for discovery some of the more unique things did take a long time

rare phoenix
#

So u really put in alot of effort

#

Thats really cool

sharp quarry
#

Have you seen my guide on how to format an idea

#

it took 11 pages in google docs

rare phoenix
#

I think i have seen it but didnt take the time reading it

#

Sadly

sharp quarry
#

it was called something along the lines of

rare phoenix
sharp quarry
#

#1122683194991460424

#

either way the Fafnir and Ao ming are interesting in that regard

#

I think the Minos might have one of the best as far as interesting ideas

#

2 words: Minos Railgun

#

you get 5-6 Minos and use them to launch something at the speeds of a Nether

rare phoenix
rare phoenix
#

I like it

sharp quarry
#

It isn't updated for Newton; I'm going to fix that later today

rare phoenix
#

Ohh true that is flying too ig

Skyros was an interesting idea to reboot the mechanic of Loki, but I genuinely think it lost the panache of a Loki.

With a Loki, even with the legendary pilot, you become completely exposed when you switch modes. Plus your meager firepower doesn't even incite you to get off your Stealth, unless it's to finish an assassination when the enemy doesn't expect it.

It is true that a Skyros has same (or less) HP than a Loki in terms of hull durability, but you have several more perks. Your firepower is approximately 50% higher, the delay to have the weapons active is much shorter, and you even get an Aegis shield that can't even be bypassed at point-blank ! Another detail is that Skyros cannot be countered efficiently while in ball mode, unlike Loki that becomes a target for any Quantum Radar out there.

I'm pretty sure the Skyros has a lot more hp from what I have seen, but I don't have numbers on either of them.

I put it in the guide
