#Wr Lore

a more compact and less maintenance-intensive variant may be designed for this purpose.
But starting with the hypothesis of Drones reverting their technology back in time, this create a hole in the lore : do we see that as a Blackout and we must not consider that part of the lore as valid ; or do we consider this change as part of the lore, which doesn't make much sense seeing what marvels we lost 🤔
probably part of the lore, the suppression systems used in Blackout, Invader and drone microchips seem to be different variants of the same technology... with some being better than the others or perhaps optimized in a certain way, and maybe didn't receive as many quality upgrades...
if anything, what we are seeing is different stages of development of this tech, that while it is not complete, it is already being utilized right from conception... and perhaps, the corporations are just too lazy to go back and change older systems that are used on the Invader...
Invader reaching possibly 100% Suppression compared to Cerberus only inflicting 50% indeed shows that the technology isn't used the same ; and Invader launches that in a wave around it instead of a projectile. And actually the electronic jamming could be the best solution to describe the 100% Suppression, if only the players couldn't fire their weapons at all. Invader let them waste their ammo dealing 0 damage
there may be different underlying components that are used between each robot and weapon...
Erebus using missiles where all other representatives of the technology use energy weaponry
the missiles could be utilizing a payload that has this technology.
kinda looks like viper projectiles
I think suppression is like a atomic emp, it destabilizes the atoms so while they still work they aren't nearly as good. Batterys for energy weapons would get scrambled and lose charge, the explosive compound in rockets would be partially separated therfore not exploding as well, kinetic rounds wouldn't hit so hard as they wouldn't be so hard and well formed.
And since it's a emp blast it would be easy to add it to a missile of some kind to transport it to the target
whats the lore behind robot deployment?
like you only really see it on that steam banner thing
fall damage doesn't exist
You have your robots on your Mothership and then the mothership teleports your robot down to the battlefield. When your robot dies, the pilot ejects and lands somewhere else safely. A new robot will be teleported to the battlefield and the old one will be teleported back to the mothership after some time (not instantly). The pilots who were on the field will be rescued after the battle or during the battle
i think an airdrop would make more sense here, instead of teleportation.
Actually we don't know, as Pixonic is too lazy to upgrade the 7-years-old falling animation
And since the Mothership is in orbit, that's one of a fall if you airdrop from there. I know fall damage doesn't exist so it's technically possible, but in real life that would mean machines capable of resisting atmospheric re-entry
Combat air drop sounds cool and makes sense
I'm thinking of an intermediate airdrop where the Mothership first teleports the robot into the atmosphere, resulting in an airdrop but avoiding most of the reentry problems
If the mothership is far from the planet enough that it can orbit instead of falling instantly, then robot would be orbiting like the mothership too. So I support it is teleported.
what if robots actually have higher hp potential but they lose it when their legs shatter on the ground and they have to repair it
In WR:F the robots are "built" by drones when you spawn a robot down. So there's no airdrop in the game. Teleportation seems much better because it doesn't come with damaged bots on deployment and things like that
Then each time we deloy a robot, the whole map take damage. A Seraph weight 120 ton which make of hard material that can tank the hit fall from at least 300km above would cause a disaster.
oh right i forgot they're heavy
i just assumed they're made of some light alloy to make them more mobile
how do we know seraph's weight?
They show it in Seraph’s overview video
Although it is overly under-estimated for a machine of this size. The only plausible explanation is the use of unreal materials
A fun calculation we did some time ago would make extensive use of polystyrene foam to occupy the whole volume, and everything is coated in a ridiculously thin plating
Or anomalous space
I have read some si-fi that have a giant mech with many part of it stay in another dimension and our dimension at the same time so that it can fit more machine in small area. Maybe it’s how it work in the game
This is the conclusion of our silly reasoning, and using one of the most advanced materials available : graphene. Still a 25mm plating will not stop anything, even a potato could breach through with enough force (and enough willpower certainly). And we're not even counting engines, weapons, or anything outside of the chassis...
And your theory about multi-dimensional machinery is beyond my brain's understanding. Like how does it solve the mass problem ?
In that sifi, it actually used to make the mech lighter so I would change it a bit.
In my theory, they may use sth to create more space inside the robot to place more machine. It’s like you can calculate outside the box that it is 1m3 but inside can be a whole 1km3 space.
But then your 1m3 of volume has the mass of 1km3 of matter 🤔
Ton is used to calculate how much material are there so the 1m3 doesn’t need to weight 1km3 matter. It’s just total weight of all machine from inside the dimension and outside the dimension
🤔

So if you fit 150 tons inside 1m3, this m3 of volume will contain 150 tons of mass
I'm trying to understand where this is going
For example, we put 100kg inside that box. The box may only weight 10kg from outside but the total mass is still 100 kg since there’s 100 kg or material inside.

So you're telling me that the mass of whatever you put inside, is in fact only linked to the mass of the exterior envelope which weight can be ten or hundred times less than what it contains
You know what it reminds me of ?
Harry Potter
Straight away with their bottomless items
SCP-184 comes into the WR lore? 🤔
imagine punching into arthur shields and there's just bubble wrap inside
Kinda like that
I was wondering : how do Skadi lasers work ?
My hypothesis : since they refer to as "negative energy beams", one option is to consider those weapons create a tunnel aligned with their barrel where they basically drain all energy of matter in that tunnel. Coupling that with some sort of resonance/vibration and you can get pretty scary mechanical damages 🤔
i think its supercooled plasma or something
The problem with plasma is that it always involve an energy gain, it being either thermal or electrical 🤔 In a plasma the gas particles are always very hot in different proportions, but they can never be cold. The "cold plasma" seems to be what we find in gas lamps and in emerging medical technologies : only the electrons are superheated while the atomic cores stay at room temperature, which results in the local formation of ionised plasma while being safe in a normal environment.
So I am personally pessimistic about the "supercooled plasma" due to the nature of a plasma itself
Sady the msg of full squad is a joke
@stuck imp
But a negative energy flow is really unclear, it doesn't tell any physical explanation. Like, what would be a positive energy flow in the first place ? Not a heat beam, not a laser, not a plasma, not a projectile, just raw energy ? And the Skadi series are going to do that but in reverse. At least my explanation makes them act as some sort of thermal vacuum machines that absorb all thermal energy within their reach, certainly to evacuate from a back vent or something. Kinda similar to how a heat pump works, but projected in a cylinder ahead of the weapon
The physical explanation is also blurry, but at least you get to understand a principle that can be put at work using sci-fi tech ; a "negative energy flow" can hide anything
War Robots have become experts in creating weapons systems with un-explainable properties. Past the first Plasma series actually (Magnum, Taran, Redeemer), a majority of weapons use unclear technology.
If some can be explained like Gauss, Wasp maybe (although the Corrosion is kinda hidden), Scourge/Zeus, Cryo Rockets, Sonics, many others rely on unknown explanations. Even the "lasers" like Flux and Prisma are much harder than expected : how come Flux is blocked by shields if it's a light-based laser beam ? How does Prisma gain damage as range increases, where all physics laws tell that generally it should rather decrease ? Atomizer shoots projectiles of incredible technology being made entirely from energy ; we don't have a clue about how Blastcharge really works, as an overheat shouldn't cause a robot to explode which would have consequences far beyond what's depicted in-game...
dumb question: do specific robots (example: shell) have stoves?
cooking stove

I thought it was a mini-fridge.
Mini fridge sounds cooler and more practical
is it me or does sirius just looks off in gameplay
I saw AD Gaming video featuring Ravann's gameplay, I still have to figure out where are the turrets on the hull
Also the sonic weapons with 500m barely make sense for me. Even at 200m I don't know we even have the technology to create such powerful acoustic waves with warfare in mind. Pushing that to 500m would make an earthquake at each burst seeing how powerful that would need to be
We're talking about weapons that obliterate robots faster than an artillery system like Vengeance
Vengeance should have 800 range anyway
Yeah big Molot
also how is sonic damage irreperable
And yea sonics should be 200m
imagine a sonic sniper weapon
My hypothesis is about grey damage being structural damage (core, computers, skeleton), and the "normal" HP being the armour which once broken through allows the internal systems to be damaged. While most weapons damage mostly the armour until it breaks, the sonic weapons can attack directly the structure by resonating inside the robot. So it deals both armour and structural damage, which of course inflicts critical damages that cannot be repaired by standard maintenance ; only improved Nanobots that are specifically designed to repair those internal systems can heal the grey damage
i kinda thought the sonic weapons sort of "crushed" the nanobots
We know Gargantua swallows Nanobots and bits of armour. Sonic doesn't specifically prevent using healing, as you can still heal the 1% repairable damage they inflict, and if you use grey-repair pilots and items you can still be repaired
wait then shouldnt they cause more irreperable damage
Gargantua is still limited to armour damage, while Sonic clearly bypass that if we follow the "structural damage" theory
The sonic weapons damage the structure of the armor, making it weaker and this leads to nanobots not being able to fuse themselves onto the armor.
Gargantua and Pantagruel are just big electromagnets that tear off armor pieces and then a few nanobots near the robot fuse those pieces onto their armor
That makw sense since noise can go through solid objects
So, they release Bastion as enemy titan in PvE
And it is some kind of war machine than a walking city
It also associates with Grey AI
i think that was thing for a long time
this lunar new year event story seems pretty interesting, are we the commander teaming up with soren?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
i havent gottten thru most of the story cuz thers not much story
and the skirmishes so far arent rylly good for operation e
@devout glacierhow many times should we talk about this?
huh?
@opal rover Gabi is talking about this...
A spam?
Something like that. And apparently he did it multiple times before this one
wait ur actually talking about the a spam, i just mentioned the a spam as a joke
I thought it's not general.. and we can do whatever we want
The rule apply to everywhere in this server, not just #💬│wr-general
So this thread isn’t anarchy
- this thread is parts of #💬│wr-general
apparently, Pixonic still exists in 2143.
that probably means they're canon, so therefore, they somehow survived the cataclysm and continue to function as a company in the lore up until now.
take this with a grain of salt tho.
gotta sell a entire titan just to keep up with the meta
I mean there are multiple Pixonic related things in the game
how did both of you just post at the same time
coinkydink
There's a pilot related to Pix, a Desteier skin too and idk what else 🤔
there was vermillion paintjobs, but i don’t think they count.
Those are related to Pix? 🤔
They kinda look like Ironman 😅
they are paintjobs that only a handful of robots had, and only a few youtubers were able to acquire them.
I know what vermillion paintjobs are. I have 1 for the Patton and found a link for Boa but it's not working
Okay
You can watch adds to get them when you start
that... makes a lot of sense
What are your thoughts on how the blastcharge effect work?
My thought is that the explosion is caused by a kind of liquid stuffed inside the ammunition that can apply the blast effect. This also explain how Harpy's firestorm can apply the blast effect onto bots inside the "storm"
it would have to fit inside each individual blast shotgun shell
i always thought the blast occured due to the robot becoming a lot hotter than the surroundng air or something like that
I heard a theory that they cause atom become unstable to make hull explosive
Well, it would if what causing the explosion is a liquid
In my theory, the liquid that cause the explosion is an unstable chemical in high amount that would ignite at the slightest increase of heat but not so in low amount.
When a robot is fully coated, the substance ignite, causing an explosion.
In a rocket fire from Scald/Scorcher/Incinerator there are quite a bit of the substance, which kind of leak out when fire and ignite, therefore making the rocket to be able to bypass Ancile shield (or sth)
In the case of the blast shotgun, a slug bullet would have less space to fill the substance with, therefore require us to hit the enemy robot with more than 1 clip for said robot to be fully coated.
maybe the blast shotgun bullet's liquid can make an explosion more than the scorcher's liquid
I still think that blastcharge bullets are some kind of sticky bombs that stick to the robot's armor and when a certain amout of sticky bombs stick together they explode
Blast rockets shoot sticky bombs,
Blast shotguns shoot tiny sticky bombs,
And Harpy's firestorm shoot 1 rocket that explodes on contact and releases nanobots that tiny sticky bombs
But then why to wait for a threshold of sticky bombs ? Why not just blow them up instantly to cripple the hull ?
Also there is a discrepancy about the blast rockets, that fire an indescriptible projectile type being a hybrid between a flame and a self-propelled apparatus : that seems much less coherent than the Blast Shotties. And you like to put Nanobots everywhere, don't you ?
I mean scientists died in the WR universe just to make nanobots real so why can't they just use them for everything?
More bombs = bigger explosion
Those rounds are close to human size tho
I think the rounds have a napalm sort of thing in the shell and when enough hits happen its ignites but the bots built in fire suppression systems then extinguish it
what if we put humans inside bsg shells
as if humans would make for good payload
Then the game would be rated E, of course :)))
if they could land safely maybe they could sabotage the finer parts of the robot like joints
exploding little people
Talk about that. Now the lockdown effect is explained. It's the nanobots' doing
there was a discussion on it somewhere above but i forgot
BTW, has anyone theorize about how energy shields work?
Especially Ancile shield. How can energy-based and liquid-based weapons bypass the shield?
And how does "Shield breaker" work?
Yea that's the problem
Because it's a force field generator that slows down projectiles wich is why it can't stop a lazer
But can stop rockets and rounds
That is 1 very mighty if
well surviving it is a bonus
we should actually document all the theories and explanations that we have right now.
But how can the blast serie rockets bypass the shield? The whole rocket can't just be energy
They just have to travel at the right speed that they can force there way in, the shield can't physically stop everything and we'll have certain breaking points
Or the rounds are designed so they they can push through the shield
And thats why ages exists as well
the only possible way some projectile can bypass an energy shield, is if that projectile happens to be of the same energy as the shield, or at least have similar properties.
additionally, if a projectile does have properties that are unable to interact with the shield, then nothing happens and both entities are undisturbed. This could be seen as a penetration that results in no loss for either entities.
I think Ancile shields are a kind of plasma wall shaped to a dome shape by electromagnetic force (or sth like that). This means the shield can block physical objects, but somehow unable to block energy-based projectiles, liquid, and high tempature projectiles
there is a more realistic explanation, but anyone's theory could be just as acceptable.
we're all speculating and giving our two cents, at the end of the day anyways.
I can't explain it well since I'm not an English native speaker, and my vocabulary isn't big too
that's understandable, though I am glad that you have taken the effort to say something.
i say this for everyone else who lingers in the background.
BTW, Aegis shield generators seems to be diffence on most robots that have one
there are two types of aegis shields: Streamlined and the Regular ones.
Except for Cerberus and Typhon, pretty much every other robots' generators look different from another
Both Cerberus' and Typhon's is cylindtrical and placed outside the hull
that is a matter of the system either being an internal component, or an external, yet removable module.
it could be that both the Cerberus and Typhon are already, very low on space. I mean look at them.
Erebus' could be cylindrical too, but it is intergrated into the hull. Then Mars' generator seems to be the two rotating thingy on the back of it. Blitz don't even show it generator, but its Aegis is only temporary. Bulward tho... it create a floating golden energy ball that seems to be the shield's center
mind you that these systems are created by different factions, same technology, but different designs, all to perform the same purpose and function.
I completely forgot about that
At this point, the robots that have an Aegis shield are Bulward, Blitz, Cerberus, Typhon, Erebus, Skyros, Mars and Jaeger. So only 8?
The Blackout trio is made by Evolife
Blitz is by DSC, Skyros is by Icarus and Mars is by Spacetech if I'm correct
Bulward and Jaeger, I can't remember which corparation made them
bulwark is DSC and Jaeger is also Evolife
there is also fenrir having an aegis shield, but people just don't think about it.
Mars is made by DSC.
I think we started talking about energy shields here 🤔
The Aegis is concentrated in DSC and Evolife, but soon all Factions will have one I guess. Icarus has Skyros now for no reason, we're waiting on Spacetech and Yan-Di
SpaceTech has Forcefield so I think they don't really want to use other energy shields
SpaceTech is cool it created Cryptic fenir and it is so well
Wait what?
What wait?
fenrir is evolife
oh...
just search up war robots lore on fandom or something
all the lore pops up
pilots, different organizations, and even the maps
The problem is that this "public" lore is only the emerged part of the iceberg. 90% of what remains is hidden and speculated at best. We are the people searching to uncover the theories behind those 90% lore holes. How do machines work realistically ? Who are really the characters in the universe ? Where are they even, since we lost track of the Team B ? This lore will never be told, or when it is the tellers use very little common sense and come up with intensive use of inconsistencies.
What do you think who writes those down? 🤡
Also, 90% of the lore is not there because nobody writes those down
First of all, your saying someone writes the lore. Then you say its not being written. Plz refrain from talking rashly. I think that @stuck imp said it the best.
I'm not saying we are the ones who writes the lore. Pix writes it, we just write them down on the wiki. And we aren't writing all of it down. Only pilot stories, event stories, faction descriptions and common stuff like that
Faction lore is made up from 70% of public lore for example ; and in a roleplay frame we try to recreate up to 90% of lore as we push the boundaries of our knowledge. The common things are well known, only the holes need to be filled and require a few braincells
The lore has too much holes to be ever completed one day, but we are trying our best
Yeah. My favourite lore parts are the hidden secrets
ok gotcha
Jane, Ragna, Frank, Ozu, Mjusi, gray robots, etc.
understood

The first 2 projects are very interesting 🤔
Nah, I think the first 2 names were the ones. Medevac and Roamer. But what could they be? 🤔
nah what about rare brawler memes
Or the "HoloPlayer" app
Holoplayer app is for Jekyll to let him make holograms
And the memes are probably for Hank's entertainment
i like hank more already
Also, I think Hank is 41 years old now. If you look at his username there's the year 2102. People usually put their birthdate in their username (like ProPlayer2009). So 2143-2102=41
hank is dank
DankTheKing2102
He wasn't talking rash, dummy
no i know he wasnt and neither was I
We were arguing because I was confused. Hes right.
You didn't do anything wrong in my opinion 🤔
Or did you? 🤨
He forgot this place
That's worth some unseen measures, like having no sanction at all : pretty unseen indeed
I mean it's better if he forgets this place than forgetting this place and writing in #🪐│scifi-story-lore instead
We would have chosen the worst way then, sentenced for treason
Did I? 🤨

New lore topic:
Nerfs and buffs
My theory:
They never happened in the game. Why?
Explanation:
Game view: Pix releases a new bot.
Lore view: A faction makes a new bot.
Game view: It's too op.
Lore view: It's a really good bot that dominates the battlefield.
Game view: Pix nerfs it.
Lore view: The whole timeline changes and the bot wasn't that good after all. Some pilots just had lucky days or good strategies.
Same with buffs:
Game view: Pix releases a new bot.
Lore view: A faction makes a new bot.
Game view: It's trash.
Lore view: It's not that good so they use it for training.
Game view: Pix buffs it.
Lore view: The whole timeline changes and the bot was actually good but the pilots couldn't use the full potential of it or they had bad luck.
I think Alpha already talked about a way we explained Hawk's nerf back in the day, and it was mostly due to technical issues appearing with the generator (nerf to ability damage and Reflector activation time). So the newer Hawks solved the issue paying on performance, while old ones were prompted to be repaired consequently to avoid further issues.
This kind of theory also works for buffs in the reverted way, new components and improved materials for example.
And it leaves open a roleplay possibility where you can still own an obsolete old model, not updated in time for the nerf/buff... An opportunity worthless for most the people here, but that can nonetheless tell about an in-universe situation
or maybe all other technology just power creeps and indirectly nerfs the bot
Wait that already is a thing
Also technology creep three months after release of the newest machine doesn't make much sense
It's already the most advanced tech available and is already obsolete
well when corporations are able to produce increasingly powerful robots and titans every month it's reasonable
But somehow old machines stay unchanged
Although they should suffer the power creep the sale way
And a Destrier becomes one shottable by anything
A single bullet
maybe not new enough to receive buffs
And not all new bots get nerfed. Look at Skyros and Harpy/Siren
yeah they just didn't keep up with the new ones like seraph
What about every theory combined together? 🤔
Some theories are against each other so it might not fit. But we can try to figure out how it is possible to fuse them all
So the combination is that:
- The buff and nerf often occurs naturally by the change in meta in WR universe that newer stuffs overperform old stuffs and replace them.
- Because of the rate of releasing new bots, many are flawed (in real life view, that may be ton of bugs Pix add to a bot and not fix for months, lol). So to solve problems, they need to sacrifice the bots’ advantage to make it more stable. I also have theory that they make flaw on bot on purpose so that pilot will never stop buying newer build.
About power creep, Idk what it is:/
My vocabulary doesn’t have that word and gg translate doesn’t help either so I might need an explanation
My weird and unrealistic theory: It’s a time loop. Whenever the meta is too op, the faction that make it become so donimant that they begin to conquer others, cause high damage to humanity. To solve it, Pixonic (as we see, they do appear in the game) change the timeline and each time change the design of that bot in order to keep the balance of humidity society.
The fact of factory flaws is interesting 🤔 Or planned obsolescence in a sense : you make your robot become "old" so pilots buy the newest stuff. This is a poor military tactic, but an excellent marketing one... And I don't really know where the Corporations are between those two notions
I think what I said is similar to this. Like the nerfs and buffs never happened. It always has been like that
But you say goodbye to any glimpse of physics with that theory
Time manipulation is beyond our understanding when it comes to preserve a chain of events
Like, what if a pilot died because Seraph lost its Forcefield on take-off, while it survived in the "previous" version of himself in that same fight ?
That's the whole future that needs to be changed. This example may not have big consequences, but it's enough to be a valid counter-example
In my theory, they actually don’t preserve the loop on purpose but by accident. The event in each loop can be so different, that’s seem to have no connect. But in the end, there will only an ending, one meta dominant and the human is doomed so the loop start again. It’s like try to draw a line between 2 point, you can draw as many ways as you want but in the end, it will reach the end point, and from thay end point, your pencil back to the start point
And it actually doesn’t broke physic if we think in other way, the time isn’t reseted but just the humanity but it’s kinda boring so I stay with time loop stuff
So the flow of time from year zero to that moment is redrawn entirely ? 👀
I think it’s from a point in that time line, maybe 2023, or maybe further
That's I was meaning. I can't think of WR lore without thinking of our roleplay server, and just thinking that one nerf can make months of roleplay.... Voided ?
I'm not talking about actual time travel. It's like saying this new car is awesome and things like that but after some time it turnes out to be not that good
It was never good but people in the past thought it's good
It’s natural evolution but in machine
But this theory has limits too... You can't turn a Mini into a Ferrari just by the power of thought
Like we see iPhone 4 as an inferior device now
Everything is possible in fiction
Even the most irlogical
What ATOM thinks of is that when a nerf occurs, in fact it correlates to the item "always being like that"... So it was just people misusing it, or being insanely lucky all that time or whatever..... This makes absolutely no sense
That's where modification theory comes in. You put a bigger engine into the Mini and change some things in the Ferrari because it was too fast but not that protected (so lot of people died because of it)
I mean, it makes sense as being understandable, but there is no way this can fit correctly in the lore
Combining theories
And we get back to my rational theory of "external intervention" : no time travel, no years of ignorance/luck/whatever... Just a mechanical overhaul
So all is cannon
That's what I said. Combining theories. On some bots, your theory comes in but on others mine comes in
I need practical examples (or counter-example) to better grasp your application fields guys
I understand how your theories work, but I cannot find a way for them to ever be feasible without breaking the universe. And think with my point of view : things done cannot be undone, like in real life
Which robots got nerfed and buffed? 🤔
Say some please so I could write some examples
Ao Jun taking 3 nerfs to ability damage, duration and cooldown 🤔 Old but maybe a good example
Or Spectre being nerfed (cooldown) then buffed (duration)
There’s 2 ways we can explain how it work. I would call who did it as A
- A reset the humanity, after the event and everyone dead exept them, they clone everyone, build the civilization back and then erase all memories. Inspired by scp 2000
The other, is simply time travel. It work like scp 055x579. It clone the whole timeline without any event in the past get affected. In that new timeline, an event is changed that prevent the end point of past timeline to occur, no matter how you try.
Let's say they realised that Spectre was kinda weak so they gave it more ability duration but the cooldown increased too.
But there's Ao Jun which could be explained by newer bots having better defense than older ones. So Ao Jun's damage output decreased
Energy crisis that make fuel used on its rocket rare so the flight time is reduced. And the fuel remaining is too hard to extract, so it take more time to recharge.
So two explanations based on sci-fi and reality-bending entities
In theory they work, but from my point of view the second one is not possible as you virtually "undo" a whole timeline just by making it disappear ; you break the chain of events.
The second one per se follows my criteria, but requires the "A" entity to be extremely powerful in order to not let a single soul with a memory of what happened... We're talking some cosmic god or whatever. Technically possible, but realistically compromised
Uh no I think I mixed up
The two
Nerfs and buffs could be explained by multiple things
The problem with Spectre is that it was buffed ................ 3 years after being nerfed
3 years irl is 3 seconds in the lore
Not really, they could just make it as a feature in brain when the clone is made.
Even the bot trolls me
Remember?
2015 - 2023
2142 - 2143
That's a backdoor argument I would say. Because dozens of robots were developped in your so-called 3 seconds
I was rather meaning : how to make sure that not a single cockroach is there to tell ?
Let’s separate our time and lore time since it’s completely different
Look, I know I can't give you a perfect explanation but can we just agree that there are multiple things that can explain how nerfs and buffs work in the lore?
I did....... Yet ATOM says that nerfs and buffs are considered simultaneous, whereas actually they aren't
Not offending you, but I find this sentence to admit kind of a defeat in your theory, or a lack of examples. There are maybe multiple reasons, but currently the most plausible ones are : mechanical intervention, time passing over old technologies, planned obsolescence in a smaller extent. The travel back in time and the "always has been" theories do seem a bit unstable, and also lacking concrete examples of applications.
Serveral step including erase memory installed in brain by many ways and erase memory after the big reset can be done to make sure.
Or they can just stack language ability and erase memory in a signal brain part so if one doesn’t work, the other doesn’t too.
Anyway, fun debate tonight. But I need to sleep now. See you tomorrow.
It's not offending. I'm just kinda tired and don't have energy to continue this. And yes, I have lack of examples because of this. Also, it's not a defeat, I'm just offering a 50/50 so we can both consider ourselves as the winner.
Your theory:
They change things in the bots to make other bots sell more.
My theory:
Some bots are actually good but people don't use their full potential so they think it's bad.
With this 2 sentences I'm completely satisfied and I could let this topic go and say we found an answer for the question
I agree with this 50/50 🤝
After so many hours...
The second theory works in very particular cases, notably buffs instead of nerfs, but it can explain some things
Yeah
It could work in nerfs too. Like one bot is so overrated that everyone using it but a Leo could kill it
But it would be mitigated by actual field facts that would rapidly prove people wrong
The other way is more coherent as people can just pass over a crucial point of the robot, and only one day a smart man discovers that thing forgotten by everyone
Yeah
so how's this robot idea so far
Name: Yeti
Corporation: Yan-Di
A light robot capable of entering stealth while also activating a built-in weapon that freezes targets around it.
Ability: Summit Hunt: Robot goes into stealth, speeds up, and activates a built-in weapon that applies the freeze effect on nearby enemies in a radius. It also becomes immune to the blastcharge effect.
Ability Duration is 10 seconds, the cooldown is 18 seconds
Hardpoints: 4x Light,Durability and Speed: 71,000 hp and 49kph
Hi
i suspect ur also a weird lore person
pretty sure bot ideas go in #1037352718743896124
i want constructive criticism before i accediently send a crap suggestion
10 seconds of stealth is a bit much
depends on the radius and damage
i'm thinking of the freeze weapon to deal no damage and the radius being the size of mender's heal radius
tho maybe it should deal damage to deal with lokis
Bring some variety to your ideas, y'all
Why just copy and paste the same old freeze, suppressions, blast radius defence points, stealth into a new chassis, get a cool name and call it a bot?
I have unique ideas but they are like 2 years old
The ancestor of Forcefield even before it became a thing in the game. Except this one is balanced
Date : 02/12/2020
PROJECT : Elytron
Faction : Icarus Technologies
Slots : 2 medium
Active module : YES
Passive modules : 3
Tier IV
A medium robot equipped with a brand new defensive technology from Icarus : Resistor Plating. This passive defense system incredibly reduces all incoming damages, and cannot be bypassed by any weapon, but generates a lot of heat by the process ; after being hit by several projectiles, the system will overheat and engage an emergency cooling (15% per sec), disabling itself temporarily. Ecu cannot be equipped.
Quick Cold : Passively the system will cool itself after a few seconds without taking damages (after 4 sec, by 10% per sec). Activating the ability disengages Resistor Plating and allows it to immediately cool down (by 30% per sec), until it is fully cold. Quick Cold cannot be activated during Emergency Cooling.
Cooldown : 17 seconds
Defense bonus : 80% impossible to bypass
Stats mk2 12
Health Points : 220 k
Overheat : 120 k total damage incoming
Speed : 45 km/h
The stats may need tweaking.... This is kinda old
This is just a worst Nether right now
thats too hard
here is the lore for this current event and the next event, I must warn you of spoilers for the lore regarding the next event. These pages were created just recently today.

Dialogue is displayed in order of appearance, following the prize track in Operation E. Only Soren de Vos and Oliver Song are present in this event. Character names have be bolded.
Hehehe. I saw a familiar name
Do you get that feeling sometimes that Pix has all the lore written down but they don't make all of it public?
hmm... maybe.
half the fun is in the surprise
sadly i like knowing things
naturally
alright so which side are you guys on? Adam or Roberto?
I think Adam plans on a smarter action than Roberto : he has a long-term investment idea that will eventually be useful on short term too, while Roberto thinks on short term only.
yesh lore
so mao ling is oliver's wife
tho the legendary pilot lore page hasnt been updated it seems and im not rich enough to find out
i wonder how the scavengers think of the corps' spider bots
god forbid rayker
I'm shocked to learn that in fact the new Ares pilot should be the spooder alone
The guy is just giving orders that one day the drone could assimilate if it has a smart AI... Or it could even rebel against humans, a risk Ricardo considered when fighting the Grey Horde
Me who doesn't know anything about the new event lores:
But who needs to know new lore when you know Theseus' blood type and the bounty for Clyde's head

Perfectly balanced. I'm sure the WR lore is p2w as well
You bought information to become superior to all other lore gentlemen
Nah bro, I'm just searching and I found things
gimme
the idea of a war between the scavengers and the grey ai, seems like a good premise for a single player campaign.
Ladies and Gentlemen. I suggest that we find out more about the WR:F lore on their website. It's technically not against the rules because both games share the same lore but with a 200 year difference

So Tortuga is a spaceport with a warpgate that connects the Wild Ten and other solar system 🤔
What is the principle behind that "warpgate", is it something known ?
You mean how it works or? 🤔
Yeah how it works... If there's ever an answer to that knowing Pixonic
You remember when we talked about mothership support and teleportation?
I think they make the whole mothership into energy and then "shoot" or "send" it to the next warpgate
For interstellar travel I expect a wormhole to be fair
But since Teleportation is canon in the lore, it may as well be it
another problem with leech's repulse ability, it can transfer lockdown and some other negative effects to its target, not just damage.

alright, here's an idea. If we go off the assumption that the Repulse ability is an advanced hacking system. It is possible that the system could send information or change/manipulate the internal systems of the target robot, causing the robot to become locked down prematurely, without the need for external stimulation via projectiles from Pulsar or Shredder.
this can be done by locking down the locomotive systems or severing the power supplies to such systems, for a period of time.
I guess that effects like Supression, EMP, Blind and Lockdown can be easily reflected on target, but Freeze is much trickier because it's due mostly to external projectiles
The four effects being electronic defects it's understandable that it should work
right now, there is no instance for Repulse transferring freezing to the target. As far as I am aware, effects can only be transferred via drones or active modules on the Leech.
Right now in-game does even Repulse reflect negative effects ?
only if the leech has paralysis or lockdown ammo active, before the drone overhaul it could transfer Lockdown, Suppression and Freeze via drone microchips.
right now, lockdown is the only effect that Repulse can transfer in gameplay. As there is currently no other drone that inflicts Freeze or Suppression.
indeed, though it seems that the accumulation was very low. Unless the Leech was taking a lot of damage, or hits from projectiles, the effect was barely useful if it came from drone microchips.
Just like how old weapons accumulate nothing... If it's 0.5% per tick and Leech reflects only one tick per projectile then it's natural to think you need 200 ticks in less than 5 seconds to accumulate fast enough
yes
Only an Avenger Behemoth can provide enough bullets I guess
or any flamethrowers
Was thinking of that too
what still confuses me is how accumulation is still transferred with Repulse.
Yeahh, I was amazed by that when I found out about it too
I really tried it with a clanmate because I thought some person was cheating when in a match it looked like I got locked down out of nowhere
I was kinda shocked
if pixo decides to make a paralysis for suppression or freezing, it might be worth using leech for this purpose.
This is indeed the weirdest and most unexpected way to get paralysed
that gives me an idea, what if you had two or three people in leechs with paralysis. Each of them taking turns to leech onto one person when taking damage.
if done correctly, the one person would get lockdowned every time their immunity expires.
60s of lockdown if its a full leech train
oh and gravity amp exists, so imagine being unable to move for more than a minute
lockdown followed by gravity amp on the 10 second immunity, then lockdown again. Rinse and repeat.
if you want to make the person in question miserable for the rest of the match, focus them but don’t kill them.
ragequit speedrun
this is the way
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxbzcGXJYtA apperantly theres a robespierre next to the fury
Maximilien de Robespierre, please respect his name at least
I still don't know how did Pix even thought about making a robot like Robespierre
I mean it had 5 weapons, a lot of hp and was really slow
The 5 weapon breaks one of the robot making rules:
A robot could have only 4 or less weapons.
The slot doesn't matter (heavy, medium or light)
Uuuuhhh no even back then it was legit at 4 weapons ?
1 Heavy, 2 Meds and 1 Light. Where did you see the 5th weapon ?
What's known is that it was indeed excessively slow and tough, but it would have been a good counterpart to Leo back in the days
My sincerest apologies 🤡
I haven't revised that chapter of my book recently
Try exodus
For some reason I thought it had 2 light weapons 🤔😅
the robespierre has 1 light, 2 medium and 1 heavy
Literally Google "Robespierre" nub
My history classes are far behind, but any encyclopedia can provide the knowledge nowadays
I was too lazy
rest in peace drone hangar hawk

so, here is a list of all spiders used by the Grey Ai.
- Tick (small spider with AoE)
- Tarantula (green ranged spider with DoT)
- Karakurt (Rayker equivalent with Glacier and Rime)
- Wanderer (Invader equivalent with storms, fast but cannot jump)
- Birdeater (Jaeger equivalent, no aegis shield and equipped with Kang Daes)
- Recluse (brown Artillery spider, self-explanatory)
- Bastion (self explanatory, though it’s outfit with a pair of Basilisk, a Tsar-equivalent armament, homing missiles and an AoE weapon)
they all arrive onto the battlefield, via portals or energy holes (similar to Orion). Dark spheres that are outlined by a dull orange glow in the sky, some 100 or so meters off the ground.
Daka daka daka
But yes it's got 2-3 different guns
Really makes me want squads in pve
that would be rylly fun, shame my clan is like not active at all rylly
Imagine WR as a story game. It starts in 2080 with the Cataclysm and slowly reaches the 2343 years where WR:F takes place
a roleplay game with that plot would also be cool.
Imagine roleplaying as Kyle Rogers or Olga Minina.
You could choose which pilot's story you want to play and then when you finished that you could choose another one. Or have your own character as a pilot and follow a story that you would like to see
and then go through samael's one and literally commit mass genocide
against children no less
Our roleplay server be like
Kind of
I mean this game would be a first person 3D game where you control the characters. The roleplay server is just a story writing thing. I mean you don't control the characters, you just tell what they do or did
Well only the format changes
But I get the idea
that will probably the only thing discussed at all about he story mode
also probably a lotta dark stories out there
Samael has other stories too. First you could play with him as a child and try to survive that incident. Then you would play with him as an adult where he's still normal and he becomes a station chief. Then he would slowly become crazy and that other incident happens. After that he would meet Thomas and the story continues
i mean the part where he kills children
u bet every news article is gonna go insane of that
Maybe yeah
A guy in #🪐│scifi-story-lore thinks SpaceTech and Yan-di will team up and conquer the whole universe 1000k years later 😂
Too bad they don't even exist in 2143
i'm pretty sure they meant it as a joke
And I'm laughing on it so it was a good joke
And dsc will just step aside and let them do that?

Ask that from him
lmao
best case scenario is that spacetech, yan-di and maybe evolife will leave the star system, and go explore the rest of the cosmos. While icarus, dsc and whoever is left will take control of the solar system and expand from there.
Yan-di might be on track for universal domination, but its hard to say for the other factions.
prob a kid
plot twist they're actually that new imugi pilot
also what is their like deal, all i know is that they have some prophet stuff going on
loaded up bastion in blender with the usual textures and noticed that it has a face.
@stuck imp
All is linked
Except I didn't wait for Evofort to develop my idea. And it's plausible to think that Evolife paved the way for organic computation, while DSC provided a solid backbone in military research. The weakness of Evolife is being reclusive, so DSC bringing it to the stars seems coherent
Everything is linked together. The Angler in that Evolife facility full of organic alien like creatures, the Gray AIs, DSC making human experiments. Everything leads to FortEvo who copies Pacific Rim
the fu
What?
He is flabbergasted by our organic computers in Evolife
But he was there when we first talked about it 🤔
no uh evolife robots straight up being animalistic
also not a lot of evolife bots are based on animals rylly
unless humans count
which basically every faction does
Well, not all of them but a lot of them can be considered as animals. Either because of a skin or because they are related to an animal
Knight was a tc?

That's the WRF server...
Who is knight?
@placid sequoia idk. Who are you? 🤔
Lore version or Discord version.
Both? 😳
Sure thing. Discord version: Just a friendly Raijin player. Lore version: An ancient species to protect other species.
We are on the edge of collecting some sacred knowledge
does anyone have a picture of that loading screen where an ao jun is chasing a nightingale in the sky?
like there high in the atmosphere, theres a bunch of motherships, and i think the nightingale is a skydriver one
You can steal it from here
yeah that
i always though a map on top of a mothership in the atmosphere would be dope
but then theres orbital strikes...
was i here back then
Idk 🤔
i joined on december
actually jan 20
what sort of ideas could be turned into wr maps?
A room inside a facility? Like the one that the Loki and Hades is in, or the Angler
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OHg2_MR4SQ london lol?
i feel like the sol network could be absolutely abused for maps
maybe a deep underground geothermal plant with lava with only few places where sunlight can reach, the gimmick being that u cant orbital strike in most of the map?
What about a giant forest with some lakes 🤔
a giant floating city on venus?
i actually have a map idea thats legit just a forest, the thing is that theres a crashed monarch
That would be cool to see
Hard to code stuff like that
better to spend those resources on how we can reinvent absorber shields
on the sky map idea maybe the map consists of like 4 ships (not nescacerilly motherships) in the air at various points of elevation, the ships are connected to each other by teleports but flying bots could fly to other ships but risk falling
and orbital strikes? well carrier exists and its fine
again its more wise to rienvent the hawk for like the 3rd time
ok so now i'm making legendary pilots and lore for this idea
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/6by05O found this angler 3d model
and tbh angler's design isnt that bad
Who said Angler has a bad design? 🤔
Angler has a bad gameplay design
people think its ugly
its definetlly not one of the most visually appealing designs but still like it, gives me both submarine and exorcist (not sure if this is exactly the best word to describe) vibes
That's just the "mask" - aka shield, its real "face" is just an oval shape piece of glass
i forgot i dont have image perms
angler without the mask is legit just a submarine with legs
Angler without the shield is just... can't even think of a word to describe it
for some reason it reminds me of among us
Wait a minute, what is "FortEvo"? When was this name appeare?
frontier
frontier has new factions
Oh, lots more lore then
the factions are (i think heavily implied) to be descended from the factions of mobile wr
Interesting
also what are the walking wars https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6frEGu1G0s
wait its been popular for hundreds of years!?
how far is frontiers in the future
I think it's talking about the early days of War Robots when it was still called "Walking War Robots"
i mean in canon
Varangian is the improved Vityaz
vityaz in frontier appears to be pretty different
I mean "Walking War" is talking about the early lore of the game or sth similar.
the early days have been retconned
Yeah, I used bad wording there. I mean the early days when robots just became a thing
oh ok
You know, when robots like Leo, Cossack, Natasha,... were the 1st model of every factions
Say... the Walking War may be the war before the Catalism
Robots back then would only consisted of the tier 1 robots, so the war with those robots would really be a Walking War
nothing in the lore really suggests that a war caused the cataclysm, all we know about what caused the cataclysm is that something happened in south america and it might have been cuz of the corporations
"Nothing suggest" doesn't mean "deny the possibility" tho
i should also add that the robots are designed for mars and outerspace to the point a bad blizzard on earth was a cause for concern
Bruh, I can't read all this and write my things too at the same time
Maybe a World War happened and the corporations supply the robots for both side, then an accident happened in a weapon developing facility and that cause the Catalysm
the oldest bots and weapons we can have in wr arent that advanced so i doubt a weapons factory developing magnums would cause the cataclysm
So. @half cypress you are correct. The Walking Wars were the first years of the war where robots became a thing. From a game point of view, it was when the game launched. The Walking War Robots.
ForEvo is a WR:F faction which is one of the 3 main factions. FortEvo, FreeCon and Human Purity. You can learn about them more on their website.
@opal rover WR:F plays 200 years after WR so the years is 2343 there.
wait didnt they fight with robots on mars
since the robots are designed for mars
and if the walking wars are supposed to be when the game launched that would mean they're fighting on earth
tho when the game launched it had different lore
- Nobody fights on Mars except a few little battles.
- We always fought on Earth
- It didn't have different lore
in the past they fought on mars i meant
No
https://warrobots.fandom.com/wiki/Old_Factions?so=search actually there was different lore
Yeah, there was but it was really old and even Pix didn't know what they wanted
That things is too old to be relevant
thats the point
when the game launched it did have different lor which has been retconned
Have just read this, and I found this paragraph:
"On an Earth ravaged by the Cataclysm, where five corporations have been at war for decades, there are rarely moments of calm."
It says here that the 5 corps wages wars with each other. This should imply that the Walking War is talking about the war using old school robots (i.e the tier 1, minus Bolt).
About this part: "Robots might be adapted for working on Mars and in outer space, but there’s no snow and ice clogging up your reactor out there." Ricardo could be talking about the newer robots here, not the tier-1s. I mean, tier-1s are so weak and outdated now that would any Mercenaris be still using them to do missions?
Also, old school robots' designs are based on war vehicle. Helicopter, tanks, war planes,...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awW2zbxmeiY&list=PLDg3JrOKeBjbZY_4660PUmG-o5jPfkWPN i feel like the team b trailer implies the fighting is on mars
Also, that page was updated I think and it's messy. I mean I know about that old picture with the old factions but then the other, "newer" bots are came with the page's update. I mean who puts only 3 bots into a faction? Those bots are similar to each other so they just made up a faction and then put them into it
I also forgot about Raijin and Fujin. Their designs look like they were made to fight on a pre-Catalysm Earth. Why would Fujin's engine be exposed to the outside if it is developed to work in harsh condition?
Bro, it clearly said that the fights are on Earth.
"Humanity lives in an uneasy peace, except on Earth"
i'm trying to say that they were fighting on mars, now theres not a lot of fighting so mercaneries fight on earth
There's a contract between the corporations where they said they will be in peace on Mars and fight for the Earth's remaining resources. Of course there are some exceptions but there was never a real war on Mars
BTW, I noticed a hiccup in the Cruel Winter event story. Ricardo said that robots were adapted to work on Mars and outer space, but then most fights that star the robots happened on the post-Catalysm Earth.
however the exceptions exist and they need to be delt with, thus the robots were meant to be on mars with them relatively recently now being used by mercaneries on earth
also yan-di's lore states that there were fights for territory
By your statment, there could be fights on Mars for territory before the contract you mentioned were signed.
war robots lore is a mess
Spacetech were the 1st to make a colony on Mars, which mean the corps didn't reach Mars at the same time, which could explain the fights for territory that could have happened before a peace treaty were reached
Yeah
Someone official should make a lore section on the War Robots official website reorganising the "prologue" of the game, from the pre-Catalysm era toward the Mars colonies era
But, what exactly is the Catalysm?
na fam better to make the millionth anti-titan equipment
something something south america and corporations *something something *earth ravaged
I know it consists of violence earthquakes, tsunamies, huge storms and other natural disasters, but are those all?
Cruel Winter event took place during a freezing blizzard that reach -80°C, which I think can only happen during an Ice age or nuclear winter
idk lol
all we know is that something happened in south america probably cuz of the corporations
Say, they could be developing the radiation weapons and fail miserably, causing the Catalysm at the same time. And only after hundred of years later did they successfully developed the weapons?
i dont think the radiation weapons caused all of this
if it was a nuclear winter things would be very different
Yeah, one huge radioactive explosion couldn't have cause a worldwide natural disasters festival
But it could cause the nuclear winter
if it was nuclear winter a lot of the maps would be very different
Deadcity is hit with nuke, I think. But a nuclear winter would have covered the city in snow
namely lots of snow everywhere
Yeah
so i dont think it was nukes and stuff that caused the cataclysm
I think that it is just nuclear winter + plate movement or whatever + future tech gone wrong or smth
With the return of Yamantau in the near future, there would only be 3 maps with snow. Abyss, Winter event Canyon and Yamantau
Does anyone know what the heck the purple river thing in that Winter event map is anyway?
ig Shenzhen is one of the better preserved cities on Earth.
toxins or strong acid?
how canon is that map even
It is covered with an energy shield
Try asking the dev, maybe they'll know
maybe one of the corporations is founded in China, so they preserved it. Don't know why they want to preserve Shenzhen tho, should've done Beijing or Shanghai.
yea, and some random medieval city in europe
is deadcity on mars?
The colloseum isn't damaged anymore
That's Castle you're talking. That place looks like a ruin tho
Does anyone here notice the giant creepy robot figures on the side of the big buildings in Dead city? Who put those in anyway, scare the crap out of me when I first noticed them
They do look like Iron Giant, a lot
man earth can't catch a break
what figures
maybe an important member of said corporation was born/lived in shenzhen or shenzhen was important to them in one way
also i'm assuming ur talking about yan-di but doesnt icarus own shenzhen?
Depends where it went of
well south america does have the amazon
When you spawn in on Dead City, look up at the big building with 2 towers in front of you, you'll see there're 2 pictures of a humanoid robot ingraved on the side of the towers
I remembered seeing a video with this as its thumbnail
waitttt wait wait wait what
im a bit late on this
but isnt bastion
like.. self sufficient
whys it being controlled
ive heard theories of it being a ai but another theory of it having a colony inside it
did lore just change
+old sirius > final sirius
Bastion was never controlled by AI, it always had a pilot but nobody knows who it is. You can know this from Kyle's stories.
The colony theory was just an idea, to spice the lore up a little bit
And it wasn't a colony, it was just a walking city and some people
I'm thinking : did the Kyle story mentioned a real human pilot, or are you deducing that from the fact he got a comms with the Bastion ?
Seeing AIs can pilot robots, one capable of talking and having a reasonable behaviour concerning pilots could make a little bit of sense
Who knows? 🤷♂️
Kyle ran into a huge four-legged robot that even his Hawk could barely scratch. He survived by a shear miracle: the robot suddenly ceased firing and transmitted the encrypted signal: "GO AWAY, BACK TO WHEREVER YOU CAME FROM." Kyle didn't mention that part in the report.
It could be AI, it could be a pilot, it could be Evolife's creatures. Who knows?
So you don't know if it always had a pilot
It may just be a computer or a brain in a jar
that kaiju brain from pacific rim
ok so Ive made the first robot that uses this status effect I made, its meant for earlier players/tiers.
How balanced is it, I don't want to send a bad idea into #1037352718743896124 summoning him.
Name: Geist
Corporation: Icarus
A light robot capable of repairing itself via attacking enemies with its built-in weapon allowing it to survive longer than other robots that share its role on the battlefield.
Withering: Nanomachines tear some metal of an enemy back to the nanobot sender after sufficient accumulation of nanomachines.
Ability: None
Built-in-Weapon Stats (level 1): Attributes: Explosive, Lock-on, Volley, Magazine, Homing, Instantly Applied: Withering. (tldr: BIW is basically an aphid-style weapon that has my status effect idea)
Damage: 1,100 per missile, Range: 350 meters, Reload: 12 seconds, Unload: Instant
Robot Durability and Speed at level 1: 46,000 HP, 48 kph
where/whats the city in the aether and nether poster?
Maybe just a random city. We don't know anything about it 🤔
it doesnt look like an earth city
earth cities that still remain are relatively unchanged
Maybe a SpaceTech city
thats being attacked?
seems excessive, there are few cases when a nether could win against an aether when they both have practically the same weaponry.
I mean an AI who was a human being is a really good pilot in my opinion
yk what would be good a robot like leech but instead of redirecting damage it steals health or any repair module or healing received by the targeted robot directly goes to you lol
That could be a Leech pilot actually
Any healing applied on the target is partially redirected to the Leech itself
tbh i feel like the buffs that some legendary pilots give should just already be on the robot
like ghost
Pilots that provide active module effects when the bot active its ability are simply rich dude with ton of pc and many module
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WMqrO1-6ww does anyone know what "The Core" is
a bit off-topic but personally i would have called the titans "kaiju" as a bit of a reference to the trope of giant mechs fighting giant monsters and to seperate wr from b.o.t
But then they would be too similar to Pacific Rim
Also, why call them Kaiju, why not Jaegers?
Also, there are a lot of references from other games and movies in WR
And I think I heard somewhere that B.oT was created by old Pix members 🤔
the robots in bot are called titans
I know
we have a robot named jaeger
still
Then titan is still a better name imo
again it was just my opinion
And it's ok. Everyone has opinions
anyways i'm gonna go to #💬│wr-general to see if anyone has full everett lore
It looks interesting
really liked its spider bots
tho i dont think the game has had a major update in a while
https://warrobots.fandom.com/wiki/Pilot_Lore:_3V3R3TT so i put some place holder images in the new lore page foe everett
I played BoT at the time where WR kinda bored me to the point I was looking to new horizons (what a blasphemy I know)... And sadly there is less and less hope for this game. An update was announced but it was basically before the war in Ukraine, and with the sanctions in Russia us players are left to believe that it didn't turn well for the game economy. Facebook Log-In being broken didn't help either...
Now the Community Manager lost all contact with the dev "team" (one server janitor and the programmer, plus the CM), and rewarded events do not seem to have any support. Some canadian friends tried to buys things in-game recently and it didn't work, don't know if the bug was occasional or if that's the sign of worse coming...
You guessed it, the game is pretty much dying, which is kinda a shame considering it was pretty good : the physics engine is much more advanced than WR, the mechs feel more real, and Light robots have actually a useful gameplay even (and especially) against Heavies
Time to make a new B.o.T game. The lore gang will make it
I mean this is really a treasure on the edge of disappearing... Such graphics are dreamt by numerous games, and this game consumes much less battery than WR for such a result... It's literally ten times better in optimisation, but sadly pays the price in content and now its own survival is compromised
And you have a speedometer
Massive perk
Also weapons and legs destruction are not RNG but aim-based : you want to take away a gun, just aim at the gun. The aiming is manual but heavily assisted, still allowing to "clip" on things like legs and specific parts of the enemy
That's most of the competition for wr
Not for long though... WR thrived where BoT stagnated
Is that a new bot next to you? 🤔
Actually it's an old one, the equivalent of our Legendary Editions. A reward to the early supporters of the game, and the placeholder model for the Convoy item (basically a push-the-payload gamemode)
So then it's not a new bot but a new gamemode
Treat "new" carefully with this game... The gamemode itself is quite old, but with only 1 programmer we can't really expect any fast progress when there is a placeholder model somewhere
This game had like one update a year, and no major change since two-three years
loved the mite mech, literally able to climb all over the place and even on other players
and the cormarant
What's the full name?
Battle of Titans
how about a vip gamemode? One player spawns in their titan and the other five spawn in their regular robots.
the objective here is to destroy the other team’s titan, as they only have one life. Depending on the titan used, it may gain a scalable durability (25-50%) bonus so it can survive for longer.
there is a twist, the other players can respawn in any robot they choose, they effectively don’t lose their robots after they have been destroyed. However, they have to wait a minute before they can drop into another robot after they have died.
the match ends when either team’s titan is destroyed.
hawk
Shranga would be fun in that
I have Seraph PTSD now
How many times my Minos got clapped by those robots... Their ability longer than the Reflector and flying so fast that cover isn't an option. Just field a team of anti-Titan and watch the show 🍿
I don't have such issues, blinder indra go brr.
but yeah, field a team of either hawks, seraphs or even fafnirs (if they somehow get fully charged) and you will have the highest success rate. Alternatively, you can also have a team of just tanks and push through everything.
I hate eather with either of the new guns
I've lost a ton of games when my team has a 4 cap and 1-6 of those eathers drop and wipe my team out in a few minutes
the only answer is blinders, those aethers can't do crap if they can't shoot at anyone. But the fact that a flying aether can reduce the damage so much from an entire firing squad of titans using blinders, goes to show how unbalanced that forcefield really is. And how much of a game changer a couple of well built ones can be, no matter where you place them at any point in the match.
and also shows just how strong forcefields can be in general. You can have 18 damage boosted Maha-Vajras firing at a single flying aether, and they won't do anything at point blank... its stupidly unreasonable why this shield technology is that effective and durable.
Blinders buy you 5 seconds and that's it
We can always suspect hitbox issues, and as far as I know the Aether has such problems... Just like Seraph on release...
And Pixonic saying it's not broken but just "slightly built different"
Making a 1inch dispersion pattern to negate 80% of damages is not legit at all... My Tempests can say that, and yes they have a spread but it's usually negligible under 300m : tell that to pre-nerf Seraph
what do yall think of the cinematic
Let me see it first
It's really nice. We can rewatch it multiple times to reveal every little secret we find in it
So. One thing that we can do is name Tal Mokri's friend (the leaderboard guy) to Tortuga Broker
so the new cinematic, robots aren't just really advanced vehicles, they have smart ai that do somewhat value their life
that for some reason didn't appear in the past cinematics
nessa losing her raven was a bit sad, she should have activated her double jump and gtfo, there ain’t no way a radiation raven can stop a full swarm of ticks by itself. And apparently it only took like three missiles from a recluse to take out the raven, each missile in game deals like 25k damage, so that raven had less than 100k hp or something in that cinematic.
didnt it just jump onto a spider to save her
it did, though it probably didn’t damage the raven
also y haven't we seen or mention smart ai in the robots before
u'd think theseus's skyros would have a word on kamikazying a luchador
idk, it might be optional for some robots. When you give a robot a pilot, I would suspect that the Ai pilot is replaced. But in some cases like Nessa, the Ai is kept as the autopilot and assistant.
so the ai that defaulty pilots robot is pretty sentient
it seems that way, in game they can pilot robots normally just like actual people.
i thought it was just smart enough to follow orders
maybe thats an understatment but not full on sentient and sapient
that could also be true, you can still achieve a level of sentience with just expanding the parameters of an ai.
and such smart ai seems pretty normal so y has it never been mentioned
ask pixonic
The Raven was already damaged. Nessa was trying to gather the resources to repair it, but it got stubborn in its mission to save the pilot first. So it may be understandable that only minor damage were enough to destroy it, as well as being unable to jump out of action
Also Nessa probably had her chances against normal ticks, but it's the Recluse that took her by surprise
that wanderer would have most likely taken out her raven too, but her raven caught it by surprise.
On a side note, those animations are illegally well-made for a mobile game company... I just hope that some budget remains to fix lag and bugs
what being p2w as hell for like almost a decade does to a company
also i like how absolutely nobody is questioning how and why the gray swarm robots look like the corporation's spider bots, especially the ticks and karakurts
Well there seems to be a "mastermind" behind all of this. 🤔 He didn't get all his inspiration from nowhere, and the industry may even have started by simply recycling Corporate robots, before making them by thousands now
who do u think the other guy in the cinematic is
still u'd think people would be wondering why the robots of this already strange "faction" look a lot like the corporations spider robots and also why the gray swarm specifically uses spider bots
Indeed nobody asks... Like it's casual and normal
and nessa isnt surprised when she sees the gray swarm guarding a pre-cataclysm facility...
so people know that this weird faction uses a swarm of robots that look suspiciously similar to the corporation's spider mechs and that they guard pre-cataclysm facilities and yet they dont care
That doesn't make any sense
who's the other guy in the cinematic
thomas mindread and maybe everett might be likely suspects, but idk.
maybe they're one of those colonists from that icarus colony
Also, Nessa knows the names of the gray spiders too
Also @stuck imp I said that Bastion has a pilot
Maybe it's not controlling it from the inside but Bastion is owned by a human
Also, I don't think Thomas or 3V3R3TT is behind the mask. Their voice is different in my opinion
Also @stuck imp if you read chapter 6 and 7 of my story you would see some strangely similar things between the cinematic and the stories. It's like one of them is the start of the other one
Just saying
I have some plans for the future stories
Plot twists, new characters, new friendships, mutual enemies, new technologies, new incidents
The only problem is that I have no time to write the stories down and others don't have the time to read it or doesn't even know these stories exist
The remote-control device is a good idea, but I'm still doubtful about the possibility of assembling one in a scrapyard, then controlling two robots with it without training 🤔
Very nice, hopefully they do more
That sounds right because raven only has 90k od hp and the pilot loses 15%
It only takes a little bit of imagination and magik to control those bots
Also, why isn't it possible to make that helmet? The scavengers built whole robots out of scrap. Also, Tal Mokri can control bots with his mind too with that augmentation so why can't I do the same?
Imagine the probability of finding the right components in a scrapyard first. Not all robots are equipped with that tech, and we can imagine it being already long gone from those machines : ATOM is certainly not alone searching for parts.
Now let's consider you found the parts : the android following ATOM manages to create such a device from memory, although he probably never made such an apparatus in its existence. He could scrape the web for blueprints, but then how to guarantee he can assemble the scraps he gathered following those blueprints ?
Now let's consider that the android managed to build the device : ATOM going from "moving a leg" to "the whole machine moves smoothly enough to transport a payload of eggs", in a single second, is quite impressive
I find that a bit lazy too : ATOM never trained for such devices, and Icarus pilots equipped with it would certainly spend countless hours mastering the system, just like you would do if suddenly we replaced the keyboard of your PC with another thing completely different
You are right about things but you forget things. ✨ The magik of not explaining everything. ✨
On the scrapyard there's everything you can imagine. Every kind of robot, module, drone, even motherships.
Scavengers can make everything without blueprints just like how programmers make codes without help. They make what they want with what they got.
ATOM has a backstory too so you never know if he used this kind of device before or not. What if he mastered it before he became a scavenger?
But I will rewrite it if you want that
And that's a magik I don't like when it's thrown into a story in a way that suggests it's all happening by mere witchcraft... As you can see there are too much elements that aren't explained and it leads to an incoherent narration. If the android knows how to build such a system, tell the reader about it ; if ATOM knows how to operate a neural piloting system, same thing. Right now it's just "well somehow he does it", which doesn't give credit to ATOM. Maybe it's just luck and he moves the legs while thinking of a random scenery
Ok, I will write these explanations into it
I'm still a beginner writer so I can make mistakes too 😅
From my point of view it also makes an issue with credibility : explaining how they got there is a thing, but the reader may ask themselves what are the odds of the character having all the keys in hand to success... This situation with the neural piloting thing does seem to require a lot of backstory elements
Wdym? 🤔
ATOM is 26 years old in the story and a little bit of his story is written in the Tupperbox bot. You can read it in the roleplay server if you want
The fact that the characters succeed four consecutive tasks without a single failure does seem a little pushed for a narration
And that those tasks require them to have a specific background : how come ATOM would have learnt how to use such a specific neural control system ?
ATOM was an Icarus member before so he could learn how to do these neural link stuff and master it. Later he remembers how he did it in the past and tried to do the same and it worked. But I can write some fails into it if you want

Yes, m'lord
what are you boys talking about?
My WR stories...
alright hon
@stuck imp should I write ATOM's story in a side story? Like 6.5 or 7.5?
That could work
Maybe the story of 470M-X1's creation too as 7.5 and 6.5 could be ATOM's story 🤔

The thing that I can't understand is that in 2140 Kyle encountered a Bastion and the Bastion won the fight and let Kyle go away. In 2143 someone is making another Bastion and the corporations want it's blueprint. Is there 2 Bastions now or the pilot lost it's first Bastion and he's making another one now? 🤔
Also there's the Gray Swarm and the Gray Robots with the Gray AI. Are they the same thing or they are different? 🤔
I believe they are different. Grey Robots are actual Corporate models, only piloted by some autonomous and hostile AI.
The Grey Swarm uses custom designs and seems much more organised around a precise leader, like a hive.
Yeah, that's what I thought too because in Drew's story they showed actual robot models and not these modified spiders
who the hell is atom
🤨
ATOM who are they
A person
An interesting person
My character
take that crap to ur roleplaying server
ok maybe that was a bit harsh lol
Yes it was
so the new cinematic with bastion says that after like a hundred days or so bastion is gonna be launched, does that mean anything?
and also nessa chucking the blueprints into the pilot net
made a new page https://warrobots.fandom.com/wiki/Grey_AI
The Grey AI, also known colloquially as the Gray Swarm, is an antagonistic (presumably) faction that was introduced in Update 8.8.8. The Grey AI are an autonomous robotic faction that currently exists on Earth in 2143. They seem to be controlled by a centralized intelligence and operate as a sort of hive mind. The Grey AI uses a diverse set of s...
The question is:
Is this lore made by Pix itself or you made it? 🤔
about half of it is speculation, the other half comes from the gameplay side of them.
take everything that is speculation with a grain of salt, the page will be updated once we learn more.
One thing I would suggest:
Delete the year
happy now?
Yes. Bastion was there in 2140 so writing 2143 would be a lie
It's better not to write actual year numbers
i'm gonna have to harass alex for some actual lore now to make that page credible.
Yeah. I still don't know how or why is there 2 Bastions. Or is there one 1 but it got destroyed and then they repair it? 🤔
the first could have been a predecessor to the new one, probably a redesign of the original.
i don't think so, do you know how hard it would be to dismantle something like the Bastion?
They probably did some upgrades and modifications, but they didn't tear it down to build it up again.
My question that remains : is "Grey AI" the same as "Grey Swarm" ? 🤔 We clearly stated a difference between the "Grey robots" (alongside their AI) and the "Grey Swarm" : the first are some sort of standard-issue war machines turned rogue and wandering autonomously (presumably), while the Swarm is clearly organised around a central intelligence and uses its own factory designs.
So unless the original "Grey Robots" and "Grey AI" have been retconned or clarified, I would still go carefully with those two names, as they might not designate the same things
i made the page on a whim, intending the grey ai to be a sort of umbrella term. You guys can edit the page and change stuff if needed.
Given that we don't have much info, the "Grey AI" may be a good umbrella term. But Grey Robots do seem to be another kind of machines compared to the Swarm
i'll add some sections to the page to denote the differences, once we have the necessary info.
i think the grey robots have been retconned

Let's wait and see what we will get from Pix
That would be so lazy to retcon the OG Grey Robots : they started as a pretty good idea. Robots wandering seemingly alone, ignoring the traditional mercenary rules ; although they should still have humans to take care of them, unless of course this is completely automated... There are a lot of lore possibilities with such a version of Grey Robots
They can't just simply scrap them. They put them into Kyle's story where they killed Frank and Ragna, they put visual representation of them in the halloween story where Drew talks about them
Might be a next level of swarm
As in wr the only way to counter bots is with bots yourself it would seam as there is very little else
i have a question about u
what?
are you F0XTRAUT
yes he is
https://warrobots.fandom.com/wiki/F0XTRAUT's_User_Ideas
i have a further question about your new titans in this user idea page on the wiki, that is what the hell do they do like what are their abilities and stuff
i’ll elaborate on one of the titans i’ve made in the past.
The Spirometra is a titan version of the Leech. It has four betas and two abilities: Repulse Matrix and Magnetic Field. It will gain a small speed boost of 20% if it uses either one of its abilities.
The Repulse Matrix allows the Spirometra to lock onto up to 5 targets, when activated they will become leeched for 10 seconds. The will take 75% of the damage that Spirometra takes, while itself gains 25% increased resistance. The maximum range of this ability is 500m, and the targets will remain leeched until they exit the range of 600m. This ability has an 18 second recharge time.
The Magnetic Field is an AoE ability with a maximum range of 350m. When activated, it will deal moderate damage and pull enemies closer to the Spirometra regardless of where they are. This ability will last for 8 seconds followed by a 16 second recharge time.
maybe, idk.
I love how Sidekick wants to know more about custom robot and titan ideas but hates custom lore/stories
i moslty meant this as a joke tho
I think I can say with some certainty, that SpaceTech owns the Stellar special editions.
Seeing that giant Sirius parading along the other Stellar bots, yeah that makes sense.
Although that Stellar Sirius is, if I'm not mistaken, the first Stellar edition actually on a Spacetech robot 🤔 The other ones being Cerberus and Phantom, as well as a skin for the Leech
Also what is that
Hope it's only a statue...
Wait didn't send the pic ? 👀
Nevermind, bug on my side
I think it's only a statue
It has a giant sword and arms too so I doubt it would be an actual bot
But it looks pretty much like it was built as a robot
The joints, the architecture, and the sword could be a reference to the Seraph : it is a pseudo-humanoid machine
I mean it is a bot but it wasn't built for combat. It's only job is to stand there
Either way it is not designed as a war machine indeed. It's just standing here looking good and shiny
But if that's a functional robot then it can be a clue about the pride of Spacetech : this Titan makes every robot look like an ant
Also, I still don't know what relationship the corporations are in. Like they fighting against each other for resources but their pilots control bots from other factions
Maybe it's a left over from the cataclysm
It's not open war more like corporate sabotage using mech companies
Still. It's like America would use Russian or Chinese tech
Don't think it as country's think of it like masive business
You steal your competitors tech as it's better then yours, how do you steal tech when it's guarded by mechs? Well you follow Mechwarrior and use more and better mechs
They don't always steal each other's bots. They sometimes buy them or trade them to other bots or steal the blueprints rather than the actual bots itself and make them better as Yan-di does all of the time
"Ideas"
Stolen Phantom blueprint + little modification = Scorion
Stole Leech blueprint + little modification = Khepri
Stolen Orochi blueprint + little modification = Lynx
All of their new ideas are just stolen bots
sometimes they don't return it though
And canonically tech theft is in Yan-Di's DNA : they invented Stealth to protect their station and agents ; they developed Modules to fit technologies outside of one's domain of expertise.
they got really good at borrowing
Shranga, ravana
The long term kind
Sharanga = big Fury
Big Fury but with a built-in Dephaser for another robot 👀 That remains a unique technology even to this day
And a button for instant 50% firepower, there isn't something else that only does that
Teleporting behind something then back was a unique thing too. Attaching yourself to another bot to give heal and other advantages was kinda a unique idea too and killing bots instantly when they are on low hp is a unique idea too
Yeah but they literally stole officially from the other Factions
Of course they didn't copy-pasted the exact same thing, a few tweaks here and there to fit their own vision, but the technology and initial concept comes from other minds
The next bot they will steal is gonna be a DSC one
can't wait for a new robot that can enter transcendence and throw a turret that can make other allies get a free phaseshift if they stand near it.
They will make a unique bot that can go into transcendence and then explode and push robots away
Shell
Angler but loaded with TNT instead of Blind
Spacetech Robots: Jumping and getting around quickly
DSC robots: Being hard to take down or making it hard for the enemies to take them down
Evolife: Support and status effects
Yan-di: Stealth/being annoying as hell
Icarus: ??? whats their unique thing aside from teleports
Futuristic techs
their unique thing is advanced tech but literally everyone has advanced tec
Still I think SpaceTech is the one that is not unique
for me icarus just feels like the "we dont have anyother faction to put these bots in" faction
spacetech atleast has a unique thing with flight and stuff
DSC: Military
Evolife: Bioengineering
Yan-di: Economics
Icarus: Technology
SpaceTech: Little from all of the above
i mean from gameplay and stuff
evolifes bots are centered around support mostly but icarus?
Teleportation
teleporters can range from healers to beacon runners
Phantom: Beacon runner
Demeter: Support
Revenant: Tank/brawler (idk)
Imugi: Support/beacon runner
demeter used to be an evolife bot infact in its video its stated as an evolife bot
scorpion gets a pass as its a yan-di bot
icarus doesnt feel that distinct gameplay wise
mostly just hodgepodge of robots that dont really fit anywhere
what is it
Icarus does indeed seem to have the most diverse robots out there. Maybe their lack of focal point is their strength 🤔
They can innovate, but unlike other Factions they can do it in any direction
spacetech can innovate in any direction to rienvent the ao jun tho
do you guys think that seraph and aether could be used in space warfare, in the place of traditional space fighters?
how long could they fly before having to land though
if both robots in question used traditional fuel, probably quite a while. It doesn't take much force to fly around in space. If they used battery operated propulsion, like maybe an Ion thruster, then maybe they could fly around for way longer without draining the battery too much.
An ionic thruster wouldn't be appropriate for a space warfare I think : the endurance will not be a problem, seeing how such engines are used on deep-space probes ; but they have a very low acceleration, so your Seraph will take hours to barely reach even a low cruise velocity
And we shall not forget that those robots are also capable of atmospheric flight like a VTOL, which implies a more powerful engine platform
can the flying bots actuallly fly much longer than in-game?
It would probably be safe to assume so. If a Seraph can activate its ability two times per minute with 15s of flight, that would mean approximately 5 minutes of fuel.... Which is hilariously low if we consider a potential military use
But we know for a fact that robots can have their abilities depleted, like when Pixonic told that the Mender had basically enough nanobots for a match but not much more
when did they tell this
i always headcannoned that the robots sold to mercaneries are less powerful/handicapped than the ones owned by the corporations
If my memory is correct, they made a lore video at the time of Mender and Weyland where they basically revealed that whereas Weyland is an actual nanobot factory, the Mender only carries a limited amount onboard which is enough for a game's duration but isn't meant to last too long
i dont remember that maybe its in their overview
where did u watch the lore video
Will try to get if for you

Rewatching that also tell me that Weyland also has a limited onboard stock
where was this video
And we can guess that for all healers
On the official WR channel, but 4 years ago
how come i never found it
Someone said magic?
this vid shows the nanobots and their size
Yeah, I know
The thing I'm thinking about now is this pilot
@stuck imp I'm gonna go crazy 😵💫
Is it an old or a new pilot ?
New for Fafnir
Comes in 9.0
But the thing is
Pix is making my mind explode with these mysterious pilots. We have 3 now. The Employer from Team B, the Gray Swarm leader and now him
And you know that I'm writing stories so mysterious pilots give me more opportunities
Also, that's why that helmet was familiar to me. I remembered that I saw a similar one before
I only realise now that Captain Clyde is one-eyed and the left side of the helmet is fractured 🤔 But I think you're right saying the two helmets are very similar, if not identical
Not identical but similar
Minax' one looks more textured than Clyde's one. They have the same inspiration but they are not identical it seems
Yeah
Also, I would like to go crazy about my story lore but this isn't the place to do that 🙂
What's this? 🤔
Interesting
in game files, the projectile speed of prisma is 3E+08 meters per second. Therefore, the Prisma's laser is faster than the speed of light.
Well it's "faster" only because the real speed is 299 792 458 m/s
Did they put the right speed on Flux and assimilate ?
Also 3e8 is 300 000 000 m/s in comparison
let me check
flux also has the same projectile speed as the prisma. Same goes for the blinders and any other laser weapon. They may have rounded up to 300 000 000 for the sake of convenience.
for weapons like calamity or cataclysm, the speed of their projectiles is 1 000 000 m/s. Which is way faster than normal lightning, being 186 000 m/s.
Now I'm curious to see if ballistic weapons have coherent speeds or not
Nashorn has a projectile speed of 700 m/s
Kang Dae has a projectile speed of 800 m/s
Spiral (and any similar homing missile weapon) has a projectile speed of also 700 m/s
Molot, Punisher and Gust (and other similar weaponry) also share the same projectile speed of 700 m/s
Plasma based weapons like Redeemer or Dragoon have a projectile speed of 800 m/s
"Thrower" type weapons such as Blaze or Bane have a projectile speed of 250 m/s
erebus about to start nuclear winter
Aren't flamethrowers slower than acid sprayers? 🤔
good question
Because in game you can feel a difference
weird, because the data here that I am looking at says that blaze, igniter, ember, toxin, venom and bane all have a projectile speed of 250 m/s.
Interesting 🤔
Gauss series ?
They are supposed to be much faster than average, the game data can tell the truth there
volt, weber and gauss have a projectile speed of 800 m/s. @stuck imp
Bruh
I feel scammed knowing that a Railgun has the same velocity as a crappy ballistic cannon
the illusion sells well here
Military designs of the current era are aiming for more than 2000 m/s, so more than double the standard velocity of a cannon
And with the WR technology we could actually reach that without self-destructing the cannon after each shot
What's even weirder is that in game it just feels faster than the old cannons
We're observing the same phenomenon as with Acids-Flamethrowers
yeah, kinda feels like the mandela effect but not really.
Clearly if it's only an illusion then it's extremely strong so that everyone believe the Railguns and Acids to be faster than their other counterparts...
Could "corrective factors" be implemented further down the code to artificially increase velocity ?
At least we would need to measure the speeds in-game but that sounds rather difficult
maybe fps, that has always been one of the factors.
Yeah using a variable FPS count as a graphic reference always bugs me in games...
Like in Call of Duty and such First Person games a higher FPS count increases your chances of hitting people... Because your display spends more frame on-target, increasing the chance that your shots actually connect
so it seems
But I'm still trying to figure out how FPS count can affect the speed of a projectile whose speed is hardcoded as a m/s velocity, not a "frames per second" travel speed
Like, who calculates the position of the projectile : the server which has a fixed cadence ; or the players who may not have the same FPS count ?
the server I think, that way everything is consistent. The only thing is when you take the damage, not how fast each projectile is traveling.
I know that there exist bugs with projectiles being desynchronised between players, if you search #1037352718743896124 for the post I made on the Mars turret : the Mars player sees everything normal, according to my fellow clanmate testers, but from another player the turret bugs on its destination
then it might be a client side issue, where the opposing user may be running the game at a different framerate. I don’t know if there are any other internal issues however.
You know you can tag forum channels too
#1045991873807917066
Idk what's the name of yours tho
Didn't know that 👀
What about the new ones the Chinese are building? They looked right out of star wars when I read a article about them years ago
Maybe but I'd say not as a space fighter would be cheaper and more efficient
what are defense points and stuff
🤔
The funny fact is that at the very beginning, what we know as "defense points" were a specialized ability
Falcon was the pioneer, and while today it kept the broken shield sign to tell it's in Attack mode, back in the days it did not have the blue Resistance symbol : no need for it, it was its special thing ! And you could tell it was a Falcon very easily with such a design, and also when the broken shield appeared on top of its head
yeah but what are they in lore
According to the game, we got some hints about what it might be:
- It can reduce effects of both kinetic and energy attacks, which I assume is some kind of reduce speed of projectiles and reduce/absorb heat. It seems not likely to be able to block of things because the amount of acid sprayed in robot’s hull remain the same.
- There’re some kind of weapon that can ignore it to some extent. We have no clue how but it seem like to occur in all type of projectiles: bullets, rocket, energy, magnetic and the newest is sound wave. Since sound wave in robot’s sonic can’t ignore them, I assume that the secret here is in the gun, not what it shoot.
- It can be reduced significantly by effects from Rust… I don’t have much to say here.
- The explosion caused by Blast Charge effects ignore them, which I think it’s because the explosion happens directly on robot’s hull. So I theory that defense point’s effects do not directly occur on the hulls.
i read somewhere that the defese points were like condesned atmosphere bubbles or something along those lines
i can kinda see them blocking projectiles a bit
and them being pierced by railguns
but im not sure where i heard this of if its correct
