In my opinion, the best way to grind towards a DL as a starter would be to make and sell dirt farms, whilst holding a Geiger Counter. Dirt farms go for 8 - 13 in the current market right now, and the basic seeds can be sold as well to maximize profit. Making one would usually take around 2 hours

The geiger counter is a low cost item which has a chance to reward you with a high priced item, I would strongly recommend prioritizing and working towards one if you are on the grind

they're a bit of a pain to catch sometimes but as you get used to them you can fairly reliably do it, just wait for them to slow down a bit, get a bit of separation, then place the jar and drag them over. I sell them 4/1 and they tend to sell within a day when I put an ad for my vends in BUYJAR bulletins

You can definitely profit fine without them but they do add a couple WLs to your profit per 200 jars

Farming is basically plant, harvest, break and repeat. If the product is a farmable, you do not have to worry about seed loss ( unless you are starting with a low amount of seeds )

Your main profit through farming is determined on the type of component you are farming. If you are farming gem profitable farmables ( Laser Grids, Chandeliers, Pepper Trees), your profit is mainly dependent on gems earned.

One of the best ways to check an item's price you are keen on trading with is to act as a seller, and root out buyers. You can try to state a price or state none at all, and just wait for them to offer you. You can do this the other way round as well- act as a buyer if you're selling an item. Take note, the price may fluctuate in a short span of even minutes, due to the influx of supply OR demand.
Peak pricing fluctuates based on changing circumstances—such as increase in demand at a certain time, the type of customers being targeted, or evolving market conditions[influx of players etc.].
Peak period in Growtopia is basically the time frame where most players are active. With the influx of players due to the peak period, you can increase your selling price based on such circumstances. Items with high demand will also be easily sold during the peak hour. However, this could also bring in more sellers of the item you’re trying to sell, and an over flow of supply at a certain point in time could bring the average price of the item down. This could also work for Off-Peak hours, as the item has low supply during off-peak hours, it is possible to sell it for a higher price due to higher demand at a certain point in time.

Another method is to directly go to the trade world itself and compare prices. Comparing prices can save you some wls as well as increase your overall profit (or vice versa in terms of selling) [Not relevant.]

Root farming is basically making use of the fertile soil blocks and planting bountiful seeds on it.

All you need to get started:

1. Fertile soil blocks (they are farmable so you can just buy the blocks which go for 120-150/wl)
2. Your choice of bountiful farmables

Currently there are 2 popular farmables people use for root farming.

1. Bountiful lattice fence (Rarity: 47)
2. Bountiful Growtopian-eating looming plant (Rarity:68)

A full farm of bountiful lattice fence is able to yield about 200-250k gems every week, compared to looming which gives you 350k every 2 weeks.

The basic idea is similar to farming but you don't get gems when you break the blocks and will only get gems when you harvest a level 3 root.

Everytime you plant the seeds, it will form roots. In order for one to collect gems, you will need to punch and break till the tree says "Level 3".
Afterwards, just gently punch the soil block once for your gems and root cuttings.
Root cuttings are these seeds that will appear when your harvest a root (punching a mature soil block) They usually sell for 200-400/wl.

Do note that your main profit through root farming is the gems earned.

Yep. The theory behind ghost hunting profiting is that you catch ghosts with ghost jars and resell the ghost jar seeds as well as the ghost in jars. Your main profit this way comes from the GIJs.

to get fossils, u just place rocks in ur world and wait. there has to be at least 1 person in the world for ur rocks to have a chance of becoming a fossil rock
