If you have to choose between one of the two, settle with Harvesters instead, its much better with massing. DCS just provides about 50 fruits extra, while Harvesters provide ( assuming unfarmable ) ~2.5*264 = ~660 extra fruits.

iirc Hair Dyes add +40 of colour channel value to its respective channel (i.e Blue will add 40 to B in RGB), so if your hair is dark in nature it'll be hard to observe its effect

Massing is the process of splicing two seeds together (which has an pre-existing recipe), into another component which builds up into the final product. You should start from farmable components and continously refarm them in order to mitigate future step seed loss to maximize your profit.

When starting from farmable components, you should purchase lesser of the farmable seeds then farm them up (multiple cycles) before splicing. I'd suggest purchasing 40 - 60% of the seed requirement to proceed on for the next step****.

Massing slightly differs from the usual " farming " process, you do not just plant, harvest and break and repeat for massing. You have to evaluate and plan your steps carefully as it could potentially result in you losing more WLs for every mistake you do.

One of the biggest worries you should have as a masser would be the issue of seed loss. When cycling through to the last step, some components may be unfarmable components, and therefore will result in seed loss per cycle. You can mitigate this by using fruit drop boosters like harvesters [with fuels to proc the double fruit drop eff] and dcs, or break blocks with blue ances and bbh.

To further follow up on this point, you should only cycle through an unfarmable component once.

But, how should I tell whether the block is farmable or not?

For farmable components, you should cycle through them more than once, as it will reduce future step seed loss (considering the next step is a non farmable component)

There are some worlds such as MASS or MASSHELP which has information and steps to guide you on how to mass. Always remember to check whether a block is farmable or not to follow up with more than one or just one cycle.

**** For example, if you're doing Rubber Ducky mass, and you'd like to start with 10000 trees:

Crappy Sign (not a farmable component) + Brown Block (farmable component) = Toilet (not a farmable component)
You'd want to get 10000 Crappy Signs (or make them, if possible) and 4000 - 6000 Brown Blocks and refarm them, since Brown Blocks are farmable and Crappy Signs are not farmable.

There are items to increase block drop ( natural probability is 8.33% ) which can indirectly influence seed gain, such as Ancestral Tesseract of Dimensions.

Could be just a luck issue since they never changed farming mechanics. If your starting seed count is less than 600, that could also be a potential cause.

Don't understand what you mean by "nesting" here, but all trials in practical use case are independent of one another and you may not get the same as theoretical results

If you spend them on event packs worth more than what you got them at then it's profitable. No definite answer on profitability until you define a specific use case and rate of purchase of pepper trees.

This is not really new, actually extremely common within the pet battle community (just in terms of cages)

Just keep to a rule next time: if the buyer bothers you, to the extent of wasting your time by a few minutes (and going to create a new world and put the item in the vend), just ignore them
