I'm assuming you currently have 1200 Death Spike seeds? You can get 1400 Door Seeds and 600 Window Seeds, then farm up the Window Seeds to 1400 and splice into Dungeon Door trees, break and then splice.

If you plan to aim for more trees, you can keep farming the Death Spikes up as they are farmable.

Massing is not as simple as just splicing, that's considered lazy massing and is pretty risky without proper calculations beforehand.

Next time, refer to the farmability guide for the full list of farmables; don't farm unfarmable blocks, only break them for their seeds upon harvest so you can continue the mass

Seed loss is a masser's biggest nightmare so at least experiencing it once is great

You can buy 600 Death Spikes Seed (I believe you don't have any existing yet?) and farm them up till 1000 Death Spikes Seeds and splice with the 1000 Dungeon Door Seeds you get back from breaking the 1140 seed cycle

Then you can splice 1000 Portcullis seeds for ~47 cost, you'll then get ~823 Portcullis Seeds back in return after the cycle of harvesting and breaking, resulting in ~91 back from selling the Portcullis Seeds

So you'll still be profiting 44 from the mass, even though you slightly screwed up (which could be more possible WLs)

(Estimated with Shiina's calculation, because she's the best)

If the item is in an active market (aka Ancestrals), you can just camp the BUY+ world and spectate the trades. You should be able to easily determine the buying and selling prices with time.

I also suggest searching on discord with buy+ [item name] and sell+ [item name] keywords since everyone's using discord to advertise their stuff now- if its a really costly item, consider double checking in REICH, SPEND and SEEDS public boards too. With the buying price and selling price, you can easily deduce an equilibrium price of the item.

Things to note if you're checking this way:

• Avoid chunky, repeated texts: Likely overpriced/underpriced. Block them on discord if need be, it filters out their messages on the search bar.

• Check timestamps and look for multiple results, don't settle on just the first few results. Try to source from up to two weeks ago ( this is arguable, so I'll also say it differs based on item's popularity )

Massing is basically using low rarity seeds such as grass, dirt, cave bg to splice your way up to get popular high rarity items such as display boxes, steel etc.

The amount of wls spent depends on how many trees you wanna make.

How do I know if a mass is good to go?

Take a look at the respective trade worlds and see the demand and supply. If there is demand for the item, go for it.

Where can I get recipes about these masses?

Worlds like MASS is amazing if you are a first time masser as it calculates the seed loss for you.
If you are a little more experienced, MASSRICH or MASSHELP can be good worlds to refer to. Just remember that these worlds are here for references and seed loss rates given in the worlds may not be 100% accurate!

Tips on massing

1. Determine how many trees you want to make and be sure to account for any seed loss along the way.
   My best tip is to add 50-100 seeds on top of the original amount you are massing.
   Example, if I am massing 100 trees, i will usually do about 150 trees in order to account for any seed loss so I will not fall below 100 trees.

2. Understand which steps are farmable or cheap to skip.
   You won't need to splice every step of the way and this is where buying seeds is crucial to save your sanity.
   For example, if I am massing porticullis, I will require death spikes and dungeon doors (window + door).
   In this case, I can just buy death spike seeds and window seeds (both are farmable) and farm them to the desired amount first, which can save you a bunch of wls and effort.

3. Make use of items to help you out! (for those with a bigger budget)
   Items such as harvester + DCS + fuel packs can go a long way to help you get more blocks out of your non-farmables, reduces your seed loss in a way.
   Apart from those, Buddy head + builder's role level and the blue ancestral tesseract of dimensions help you squeeze more blocks out of your breaking, which helps reduces your seed loss!

If the item is in an active market (aka Ancestrals), you can just camp the BUY+ world and spectate the trades. You should be able to easily determine the buying and selling prices with time.

I also suggest searching on discord with buy+ [item name] and sell+ [item name] keywords since everyone's using discord to advertise their stuff now- if its a really costly item, consider double checking in REICH, SPEND and SEEDS public boards too. With the buying price and selling price, you can easily deduce an equilibrium price of the item.

Things to note if you're checking this way:

• Avoid chunky, repeated texts: Likely overpriced/underpriced. Block them on discord if need be, it filters out their messages on the search bar.

• Check timestamps and look for multiple results, don't settle on just the first few results. Try to source from up to two weeks ago ( this is arguable, so I'll also say it differs based on item's popularity )

I do strongly recommend massing Portcullis or Bathtubs. They're perfectly great with 50 ; I've also attached a mini-guide copied from one of my old messages. DISCLAIMER: Prices and Budget allocation are not adjusted and are old.

Portcullis Mass

Window seeds [ 80 / ] - 8 to get 640 seeds
Door [ Dirt + Cave Background is the cheapest option ] - Grind as much as possible. This number should match the number of Window seeds before you splice them into Dungeon Doors.
Death Spikes seeds [ 35 / ] - 17 to get 595 seeds

Windows ( farmable component ) + Door = Dungeon Door ( not a farmable component )
Optional step : Danger Sign + Rock Background = Death Spikes
Dungeon Door ( not a farmable component ) + Death Spikes ( farmable component ) = Portcullis ( not a farmable component )

What you should do : farm Window seeds and mass produce a ton of door seeds, then when you reach an amount you are satisfied with, splice them into Dungeon Door Trees. Break the Dungeon Doors ONCE ONLY, as they are unfarmable and will result in seed loss if you refarm them. Following this, farm the Death Spikes till you reach the same amount of seeds as your Dungeon Door seeds. Splice them together, harvest the portcullis trees when they are ready, and break them ONCE ONLY for seeds, then sell the seeds.

Bathtub Mass

Crappy Sign seed [ ~180/ ] get 8 of this (1440 seeds)
Brown Block seed [ ~180/ ] get 5 of this (900 seeds)
White Block seed [ ~30/WL ] get 17 of this (510 seeds)
What you need to do :

FARM Brown Blocks and White Blocks up.

How much should I farm?
Farm Brown Blocks up till you reach the number of Crappy Sign seeds you have, then splice them together to get Toilets. After completing the splicing process, harvest the Toilet trees and break the toilets for the seeds. Thereafter, farm up the White Blocks till you reach the exact number of Toilet seeds you have. Then splice them up again.

Optional step: Door + Dirt = Crappy Sign (not a farmable component)
Crappy Sign(not a farmable component) + Brown Block (farmable component) = Toilet (not a farmable component)

For Bountiful Lattice Fences, you can get ~250k gems from a full farm from harvesting their mature roots. However, you'd need to clear 4 cycles, which take a lot of work. (The leveling process is visualized in the world SOILFARM)

You'll also get seed gain from each cycle, again, these are farmable.

The root cuttings that drop from harvesting the mature roots are close to useless, I recycle them as I see no value in them, so I won't include that in the profits.

Near the end of the Harvest Fest event, BMCs will be really cheap and crafting would be much wiser than directly buying one. Reason being, everyone would be crafting a Zeus and sell at a markup price higher than crafting it.

Just make sure to craft near the end of the event since BMCs are really cheap then (due to saturated supply).

If it helps with calculation, 140 BMCs are required to make a Zeus' Lightning Bolt.

How easy/fast it is to break or how frequent a seed drops when breaking??

The estimated ratio of seeds dropped from breaking blocks is 1:4 and is fixed for all blocks and consumables which has a chance of dropping seeds; no matter block or consumables, it will return seeds (if it does drop any) from using the said item at an estimated ratio of 1 : 4

Really? I swear I’ve seen a tree drop more than 4 from its tree but was still considered unfarmable :/

Yup, there are some that doesn't follow this rule, such as Flipping Coin. Most do still follow this rule though

With that said, Flipping Coins themselves don't actually drop seeds when harvesting

cynthia, with your guide on science station mass (that starts from farmables), did you time how long it would take to get to ready science station trees?

also i dont think breaking science stations drops seeds based off of what i've seen people sell more, which is the blocks more than the seeds

ok i was kind of unaware that science station trees actually take 7 days to grow..

peterwijaya got 2.54x more wls back doing it tho

Ur forgetting Sharp piano mass, Biohazard mass (which requires Danger Sign mass) and toxic Barrel mass. Then science station mass.
You won't profit that much if u buy Mradio seed and Tbarrel seed right away
