like lets say we have a cactus lazy mass and the prices are as follows:
bush seeds ~50/1 and death spike seeds ~40/1

you would profit because you would get around 30 seeds back from harvesting and breaking, giving 30seeds for 2 wls. cactus seeds are around 13/1, which will give u a slight profit- you'd need to do it in high quantities so the profit would be higher

however, if the seeds you buy are more expensive, lets say bush seeds 30/1 and death spike seeds 30/1, you would get just around 25 seeds back from harvesting and breaking, resulting in a loss even with a low wl investment

for lazy massing, you dont do any farming on farmable components, which will allow seed loss to screw you over. the other counter to this is to get cheap seeds

then again i should repeat- lazy massing is not recommended unless you can find really cheap seeds

even if you find cheap seeds, you should do calculations to ensure that you won't result in a loss.

There's no definite way to check prices, you just have to get used to alternating and looking around both discord and in-game. Check public boards, and check discord for recent trades so you don't get fooled by manipulators.

That's incorrect- that's not massing, that's lazy massing.

For massing, the correct way is to start from farmable components (or from scratch to reach farmable components), and farm them as much as possible so that you do not experience loss in seeds and lose profit.

Basically, before you splice, IF the components are farmable, you are recommended to farm them multiple times (I usually do around 5 cycles of farming)

Massing is usually the process of splicing two seeds together (which has an existing recipe), into another component which builds up into the final product.

Massing slightly differs from the usual " farming " process, you do not just plant, harvest and break and repeat for massing. You have to evaluate and plan your steps carefully as it could potentially result in you losing more WLs for every mistake you do.

One of the biggest worries you should have as a masser would be the issue of seed loss. When cycling through to the last step, some components may be unfarmable components, and therefore will result in seed loss per cycle. You can mitigate this by using fruit drop boosters like harvesters [with fuels to proc the double fruit drop eff] and dcs, or break blocks with blue ances and bbh.

To further follow up on this point, you should only cycle through an unfarmable component once.
But, how should I tell whether the block is farmable or not?

For farmable components, you should cycle through them more than once, as it will reduce future step seed loss (considering the next step is a non farmable component)

Something to take note of is that Lazy Massing does not equal to normal Massing. Lazy Massing will more often than not result in you losing wls.
Lazy massing is purchasing and splicing the pre-step seeds together to obtain the final product. This will more often than not result in you losing WLs and is not recommended.

As said earlier, massing is the process of splicing two seeds together (which has an pre-existing recipe), into another component which builds up into the final product. However, you should start from farmable components and continously refarm them in order to mitigate future step seed loss to maximize your profit.

There are some worlds such as MASS or MASSHELP which has information and steps to guide you on how to mass. Always remember to check whether a block is farmable or not to follow up with more than one or just one cycle.

Note: "Components", in this case, refers to blocks/wallpapers.
