Yeah BMCs take up the main portion of the cost for Zeus' Lightning Bolt. Other mooncakes are also required to craft them into Songpyeons and for the final recipe, but you should get the BMCs first if you plan to craft it.

I don't really recommend directly crafting it first, try to source for a premade one in the market, much faster and probably also cheaper.

Skill fail rates are calculated similar to how compound interest is calculated- it cannot be fully eliminated. However, with the use of more skill fail items, you can further reduce the chance of them occurring mid surgery.

Anyway, you sound like you're just starting out on surgery. The first few surgeries are always the toughest, and you should level your skill fail up to 100 first. Having 100 skill level already drops your skill fail rate from ~30% to ~10%

skill fails in startopia work the same as skill fails in surgery, u jst use the tool again until success but u shld pay attention to the screen when it says 'Skill Success' because if its orange, u jst used a tool which u didnt have to use for that turn becus it does ntg at all at that specific point in the voyage but if its green then it means u used the correct tool

Definitely, if you get the food (for the Silkworm's colour, I recommend changing it to Purple, but Black, Yellow and Green works too) and the Silkworm itself at cheap prices + moderate it everyday till the 20th day.

Budget required : As low as 10 , no set limit; profit scales with number of Silkworms you plan to have.
How it works : Harvest them regularly (from day 2 onwards) and feed them regularly. Go for any of the demanded bolts (Black, Purple, Yellow and Green). After harvesting, you should have enough threads to craft a silk bolt. sell the silk bolt for a higher price in BUYSILK and that's ur profit.
Each Silkworm drops an average of 5.5 threads per harvest. The color of the thread mainly differs by the Silkworm's color. They start producing threads__ from day 2 onwards only. __
What you feed to the silkworm determines what colour it'll convert towards. May take a few days to completely convert.

SSUs or Fossil Brushes are always on top prio list, though they are high tier masses. It'd be good if you could get the other said items for it to further reduce seed loss. Let me know if you need the steps to either of these masses.

If you wish to go with an easy mass, Beehive could be considered, and even progressing on to break the Beehives for Honey (with TM) and splice the Beehive Seeds to Corns, then grinding them into Corn Meals is good.

Massing is usually the process of splicing two seeds together (which has an existing recipe), into another component which builds up into the final product.

Massing slightly differs from the usual " farming " process, you do not just plant, harvest and break and repeat for massing. You have to evaluate and plan your steps carefully as it could potentially result in you losing more WLs for every mistake you do.

One of the biggest worries you should have as a masser would be the issue of seed loss. When cycling through to the last step, some components may be unfarmable components, and therefore will result in seed loss per cycle. You can mitigate this by using fruit drop boosters like harvesters [with fuels to proc the double fruit drop eff] and dcs, or break blocks with blue ances and bbh.

To further follow up on this point, you should only cycle through an unfarmable component once.
But, how should I tell whether the block is farmable or not?

For farmable components, you should cycle through them more than once, as it will reduce future step seed loss (considering the next step is a non farmable component)

Something to take note of is that Lazy Massing does not equal to normal Massing. Lazy Massing will more often than not result in you losing wls.
Lazy massing is purchasing and splicing the pre-step seeds together to obtain the final product. This will more often than not result in you losing WLs and is not recommended.

As said earlier, massing is the process of splicing two seeds together (which has an pre-existing recipe), into another component which builds up into the final product. However, you should start from farmable components and continously refarm them in order to mitigate future step seed loss to maximize your profit.

There are some worlds such as MASS or MASSHELP which has information and steps to guide you on how to mass. Always remember to check whether a block is farmable or not to follow up with more than one or just one cycle.

Certainly. It is one of the best periods to own one. ATMs are meta as preparation for Valentine's Week, Summerfest and Halloween, the three biggest gem-heavy events in Growtopia.

To explain why it is the best period to own it : ATMs has most demand during pre-Valentine's Week to post-Summerfest periods, so that should also explain its meta phase. The meta then transitions to Tackle Boxes to match the demand from three events which heavily utilizes baits : Halloween, Winterfest and Anniversary.

To answer the first part of your query, the developers don't usually share update item informations anymore. There may be spoilers sometimes ( such as ubiweek item spoilers on their twitch ), you'll have to keep an eye out for them.

Trade Profiting also works with your budget, and you should do it if you can effectively trade. You can flip items in BUYBUNNY/BUYBOW/BUYRAINBOW/BUYNECK/BUYANCES, by following the theory of 'buy low, sell high'. Do be advised that trading has its risks, and you may lose out when trade profiting. It is always good practice to check and observe the price of the item for a few hours to even days before committing.
Trade profiting sometimes also includes time as a factor. Items which are quite popular are more likely to rise in demand during peak hours of the game (from 6am to 12pm gt time!) Ancestral Artifacts are a good example of this.

Root farming / normal (or traditional) farming are also great! It works as a stable profit method, and your profit comes from, of course, farming.

Ghost hunting is also a great profit method, where your profit scales based on how proficient you are at it. With 9 , you'll be dealing with a lot more jars, so it may get a little tiring. You might want to split a portion of it for other profit methods rather than put it all into one in this case. This theory may also be applied to cooking, don't put everything into one profit method if they do not generate you much world locks.

You can also pick up passive profit methods such as opening a mini vend store, making and selling ready farms(this is exceptionally well for a low budget lazy profit method). Do be advised that passive profit methods do not generate much compared to normal profit methods & they take quite a while before profits are seen as they're "lazy profit methods".

Also, always hold a Geiger Counter with you and complete your role quests whenever possible, to unlock more profit methods for yourself in the future

This is probably the best active profit options at a high budget. High risk but high reward. If you're at a loss on what to trade, do consider trading Gems or event-limited and/or quest required items (i.e Mystic Battle Lance).

Running a BFG is not all that good now considering how competitive the market is. You'd also have to moderate your world which makes it pretty stressful. Do consider it though, if you want gem/seed profits. Another option for gem profits is the TM root farming option, stats are stated below :

You'd need around 40,000 gems for 1 cycle (10,000 blocks from 1 farm harvest cycle, each bountiful lattice fence takes 4 hits to break)

4 cycles = 40,000 * 4 = 160,000 gems for 4 cycles

You will get around 250,000 gems back from harvesting the bountiful lattice fence mature roots (~90,000 gems clean profit)

Each Bountiful Lattice Fence takes 4 hits to break with a TM; one hit consumes 1 gem.

With 8,000 gems, you can break up to 2,000 Bountiful Lattice Fences before the machine completely runs out of fuel.

The TM has a 1.5s tick rate, so ~6s for 1 block to be completely broken.
(2,000 * 6) / 3600 = ~3.33 hours.

You'd need 3.33 hours before refilling the gems if you are going for 1 TM only. This value is halved / downscaled based on how many TMs you have of course

An average dirt farm can hold 2645; if entrances are added at the sides of each row ( +2 grids per row to overall ), it'll bring the total up to 2698 seeds.

Calculation for an average dirt farm : 2700 - ((2 * 27 - 3) + 4)
(2 * 27 - 3) is accounting for the gap between each row at the extreme ends & the -3 is accounting for the space taken to block the white door with entrances & the grid the white door takes up
+4 is accounting for the row at the very bottom (bedrock row). Since (2 * 27 - 3) also subtracted away the 2 grids from the bedrock row, it has to be added back as they also count as plantation area

I have typed out an SSU mass guide previously, the budget isn't adjusted so it's up to you to scale it yourself.

I'll just list the steps to Spirit Storage Unit mass, but do let me know if you need more detail!

Optional step : Danger Sign + Rock Background = Death Spikes
Windows ( farmable component ) + Door = Dungeon Door ( not a farmable component )

Portcullis(not a farmable component) + Sandstone Wall (farmable component) = Ancient Stone Gates (final product)

Adventure Item - Key :

So let's say you're doing the SSU mass with a 10 budget with seed loss reduction equipments (Dreamcatcher Staff & Harvesters of any variant), you'd have to separate your cost for the mass project and do a lot of farming like the other masses before pathing all the way up to the final product.

3.5 for Plumbings, another 3.5 for Ancient Stone Gates.
Use the remaining 3 for Death Spikes seeds and Wall Like an Egyptian seeds.
The massing procedure for this is also the same as the others. Do as much farming as possible, on the farmable components.

For ASG : The procedure for this is to just farm up the Window seeds till you reach 7000 Window Seeds ( best to farm it up, if you directly buy them, you may deprofit instead ). After farming it up to 7000 ( or more, which is preferred ), splice them with Door seeds, then harvest the Dungeon Door and break them into seeds, do not farm them. For this phase, farm the Death Spikes till you reach the same amount of Dungeon Door Seeds you have, then splice them together again for Portcullis trees. Finally, break the portcullis into seeds once only, as they are not farmable, and farm the Sandstone Wall till you reach the same number of Portcullis Seeds you have, and then splice them together for ASG Trees. [Do note that you'll have to do double till the Portcullis step for SSU Mass, as the later part requires Portcullis as well. Basically, don't splice them all and splice what's required].

For Plumbings :
Farm the Brown Blocks up till you reach the same number of seeds as the Crappy Signs Seeds you have, then splice them together. Harvest the Toilet Trees and break them into seeds, do not farm Toilets as they are not farmable. After this, farm up the White Blocks till you reach the same number of Toilet seeds you have, then splice them together to get Bathtub Trees. Again, harvest them and break them into seeds, but don't farm them as they are not farmable. Then, farm the Green Blocks up till you reach the same number of Bathtub Seeds you have and splice both of them together for Plumbings Tree.

Answer to the lazy mass queries : your lazy massing profits scales by how much you get the seeds at. I cannot give you a definite answer on your profits as they differ by case. Also, they are profitable if you do manage to get them at cheap prices ( calculations are necessary before commitment )

Fossil Brush mass :

Optional step: Steel Blocks (farmable component) + Yellow Block (farmable component, can be purchased from SSP stores) = Golden Blocks (farmable component)
Golden Blocks [farmable component] + Evil Bricks [ recommended to purchase ] = Fireplace [ Note: this is not a farmable component ]
Fireplace [ not a farmable component ] + Wall like an egyptian [farmable component] = Adventure Item - Torch [ Note: this is not a farmable component ]
Adventure Item - Torch [ not a farmable component ] + Rice [ farmable component ] = Fossil Brush [ final product! ]
It is recommended to refarm the farmable components at least 5 times.

Use of Harvester / Harvester of Sorrows / Pineapple Plough should be implemented whenever necessary. ( Mainly when harvesting unfarmable component trees & when the price of the seed is costlier than the price of Fuel Packs. )

Components refers to blocks and wallpapers.

Learn trade profiting from scratch then. It isn't that hard, just a ton of negotiations AND patience required.

Learn how to trade from small items first with high popularity such as Ancestral artifacts. BUYANCES market is big and always has players in it.

What you mainly should focus on is to buy items at buyer rates, then resell them at seller rates or at its equilibrium price. You should try your best to negotiate for an item to get them to sell at buyer rates so you can profit off it.

You definitely have to ask for a price first when trading. It is also good to note the current buying, selling and equilibrium price of that item ( this is easy to get if the item has high popularity, which BUYANCES market offers ).

There are a few ways to get the price, though you should just :
• Act as a seller and ask for offers with/without stating a price
• Ask for a price from a seller directly ( basically acting as a buyer )

When you're more familiar with this, you can start circling around to even BUYNECK, BUYBUNNY or SPEND and SEEDS.

From scratch it certainly is possible, excluding the cost of fruit drop boosters.

By assigning them properly, you should be able to turn the mass into a successful one. It is key to farm the farmable components as much as possible, but, as you can see here, the farmable components are all the way at the start of the main component, so you'll struggle with seed loss.

That definitely exceeds the limit. I've done a test before on this in my own aquarium but lost the actual amount. Also, I believe it differs by the fish sizes. Just fill up your ports, and when you see that all your fishes disappear, remove the previous one and that's the limit.
