You'd certainly earn more from a Spirit Storage Unit mass compared to an Amphora mass, though this is also reliant on the effort placed into farming the farmable components and such. I won't provide you an answer, because this is technically your choice, not mine. The only difference it has compared to Amphora is that the demand comes from SSU gacha world admins and owners, not Aqua Cave Crystal block drop farmers, and require more effort as it is considered a higher tier mass.

You'll also need at least 200 Ghost Jar to begin with and hunt ghost with it till you get 200 Ghost-In-A-Jar, while you're hunting you'll also get seeds from using the Ghost Jar and you have to sell the seeds and the 200 Ghost-In-A-Jar that you got from hunting to get profit

I recommend to visit HUNTING to find Ecto-Locked worlds where you can find worlds that's always haunted letting you to catch ghost for free

Massing is usually the process of splicing two seeds together (which has an existing recipe), into another component which builds up into the final product.

Massing slightly differs from the usual " farming " process, you do not just plant, harvest and break and repeat for massing. You have to evaluate and plan your steps carefully as it could potentially result in you losing more WLs for every mistake you do.

One of the biggest worries you should have as a masser would be the issue of seed loss. When cycling through to the last step, some components may be unfarmable components, and therefore will result in seed loss per cycle. You can mitigate this by using fruit drop boosters like harvesters [with fuels to proc the double fruit drop eff] and dcs, or break blocks with blue ances and bbh.

To further follow up on this point, you should only cycle through an unfarmable component once.
But, how should I tell whether the block is farmable or not?

For farmable components, you should cycle through them more than once, as it will reduce future step seed loss (considering the next step is a non farmable component)

Something to take note of is that Lazy Massing does not equal to normal Massing. Lazy Massing will more often than not result in you losing wls.
Lazy massing is purchasing and splicing the pre-step seeds together to obtain the final product. This will more often than not result in you losing WLs and is not recommended.

As said earlier, massing is the process of splicing two seeds together (which has an pre-existing recipe), into another component which builds up into the final product. However, you should start from farmable components and continously refarm them in order to mitigate future step seed loss to maximize your profit.

There are some worlds such as MASS or MASSHELP which has information and steps to guide you on how to mass. Always remember to check whether a block is farmable or not to follow up with more than one or just one cycle.

Note: "Components", in this case, refers to blocks/wallpapers.

Let's say we compare a budget of 10 , you'd only be able to afford ~273 Tackle Boxes which will produce around ~5.35 every 2 days. In comparison with Science Stations, (let's assume 3.4/WL rate), one can get ~10.2 with just one harvest of a 10 science station farm (12 hrs per harvest).
Some data here may be outdated ^^, but it should still bring the point across!

If you have a higher budget, ATMs (suitable when closer to gem-heavy events i.e Valentine's Week, Summerfest and Halloween) or Tackle Boxes (suitable when closer to events which utilizes baits i.e Halloween and Winterfest) would be better overall options!
