Farming farmable components should usually result in a seed gain (mainly from the harvesting phase) if you are not starting from a low amount.

If you are breaking them in a 1 by 2 grid, make sure you have machine type blocks picking up the drops or you won't get seeds/blocks back.

You'd also need a growscan to scan and sell the gems
