Let me explain how the NEW system works.
Basically, every 3 hours, SIX of the OLD phoenix items will be obtainable from breaking Summer Artifact Chests (I believe they are Phoenix Wings, Pacifier, Riding Phoenix, Crown, Hair and Sword.)
Since they have mentioned that 6 of the oldest Phoenix items will be available from breaking the Summer Artifact Chest, that basically tells us that Phoenix Wings will definitely be in the spotlight feature, and therefore should have high demand for Summer Artifact Chests from tomorrow onwards.

From Day 2 of Summerfest, things get even hotter. A super limited amount of older Phoenix Items will again return to Growtopia, through the Summer Artifact Chest. We have changed the system this year a little. Every 3 hours, 6 of the oldest Phoenix items will be available from breaking the Summer Artifact Chest! Only 1 of each is available through this time. Clicking the store button will give you all the details. You won’t get any Phoenix Items from breaking Summer Artifact chests before the Phoenix Rising event is active, so wait until you see it active in the store before you get smashing. In a case where the Phoenix Wings are already claimed, just calmly wait for the next cycle(3 hours from it)! All 6 phoenix items will reset back to zero, and only one of each are obtainable after 3 hours.

It requires 5 hits to break, which means 50k each cycle.

Since it takes more hits to break, the process will be longer and the growth time makes it unefficient

Only if you're manually breaking them.

Bountiful series blocks usually do not drop gems when broken, which makes TM farming ideal. However, breaking bountiful series blocks with an Ancestral Lens of Riches equipped will drop gems whenever the effect procs. If you are manually breaking the blocks, then it'll be worth getting.

However, they have changed up the spotlight system this year so that each of six old phoenix items are obtainable every three hours, so essentially the item can be anything other than Phoenix Armor and Phoenix Scarf.

If the PW has already been claimed, then I doubt there would be anyone contesting for it anymore(therefore decreasing overall demand). The cycle resets every 3 hours though, so if you are selling Summer Artifact Chests, you can always wait for the next cycle if the PW for this cycle has been claimed
