They're doing the literal bare minimum for a gacha game to survive and unfortunately, since most people on Genshin have it as their first gacha experience, they're not really aware how other things work

Stuff like FGO literally gives you "Yeah, take this 100 free pulls every Anniversary. Rates are bad? Doesn't matter, lucksack it"

Azur Lane gives you free gems and a bunch of free pulls and events that you always have ways to get new stuff. Even in Anniversary

Arknights give you at least like 10 pulls but they give way more stuff in general.

Alchemy Stars gave me like 30 solid pulls or smth when I came back around Anniversary, and that doesn't include other anniversary-related events

Tldr: Genshin players' standards are so low that 20 pulls is amazing although it's not really much in the grander scale of things when you consider the game as a whole. FGO has a counter for your pity. Even though it's high, any active player can guarantee at least 1-3 SSRs per year as long as they don't waste SQ.

FGO's the longest I've played in a gacha, the only thing difficult with it is doing a 3t comp at 6CE, but that's a luxury. 3t is a normal standard, but it's only when you're min-maxing that it gets difficult. Otherwise the game is fine, great for story, gameplay itself is 50/50

Genshin's story is somewhat lacklustre. FGO's story clears it any day of the week.

The two have completely different battle systems, there's no point in comparing.

The pity doesn't really do anything to serve in Genshin's favor. You're still on a 50/50 and your base SSR rate is just as bad, if not, worse than FGO's.

Thing is, FGO is fully free to play and there's not too big of a difference in playability if you're an F2P or not. You only need to level up your skills and have a working team comp that isn't a mish-mash of characters. You can't say the same for Genshin when you have to farm and farm and farm non-stop just because of how you get your stats there.

Genshin is mostly carried by hype and the fact that it's a 3D game that plays on mobile, pc, and console. As an actual game, it's actually quite bad.

This is coming from someone's who played Genshin and FGO extensively.

Genshin becomes so much of a pain to keep up with. If you quit in FGO, you can easily get back and you only need 5-10 minutes per day if you want to avoid a 1-2 day grind if there's an event, otherwise you can just login whenever you want and you'll be fine.

Genshin's just... not as fun as it could be. It gets way too repetitive and quitting to take a break means you're only getting pushed back even further. Each to their own, but Genshin has its own set of problems that make the game quite undesirable
