something that plugin is doing is causing the crash, and the only thing I can say it is most likely trying to do something on a chunk that isn't loaded. Your crash report further supports that in that when it did crash, there was no players. No players typically means no chunks loaded except around the spawn

For those who could have the same problem, what I did was to add the plugin.yml in File > Project Structure (if you are using Intellij). You have to add a file and select your yml

so i used gportal to make a 1.6.4 attack of the bteam server for a few friends. works fine, cant figure out how to add plugins. other hosts have an option on the portal for it, this one you have to manually download each plugin and use filezila.

yep i just checked it thru jbytemod, its package author is "skz15", i didnt install it, and it has ALOT of obfuscated classes which include a "Loader" class. maybe tho its because im runnign a custom spigot (nacho) and custom bungee (flame) and they installed it?

so im an admin on a server that runs bungeecord, the owner had a bad instalation of luckperms on the proxy and luckperms for normal servers on all the sub servers so i got a good instilation of lp on the proxy and removed the ones on the sub servers, which did in fact fix a few things but it made it so chat prefixes no longer are seen, this also causes essentialschat to stop working on one of the servers, any fixes?

Don't you need LP on the sub servers? LP and LPB are two different things.

LP is for the individual servers. LPB is for the proxy.

LP is what manages all of the permissions on the individual servers, Since they can be whatever they need to be. (Survival, Minigames, etc)

Go to that server's LP editor, or use the commands to add the permissions to the proper groups.

You might have a bad LP server setup as well, so you may want to check how inheritance has been setup.

Metrics. It's just analytics that plugins put in to see what people are doing with the plugin. Most of the time it's just to count how many people are using the plugin. Most plugins offer the ability to disable that outright. Usually it's a setting found in it's config.yml.

Since this essentials, it the setting may be in the Essentials config.yml instead of the EssentialsChat config.yml

any idea what has happened to running minecraft servers in past years? I remember running server with just 256 mb ram, ofc it would only work for 1 player or max 2, but it surely did. now I cannot make server run even with 500 mb ram. I even used to rent servers with 384 mb and it worked just fine. now I get OOM before server has even set up and it crashes. I have tried the newest spigot and paper builds, same result. do I have to tinker the config files before running to make it run or do I always need at least 1GB ram nowadays to even start server?

1GB absolute minimum though on the latest versions I reccomend 2GB-4GB for smooth gameplay the increase in ram is simple more features more generation more entities etc so your going to need more resources its like trying to run windows 10 on a very old pc its not going to work well because the hardware just isn't enough for the os's needs anymore same applies to minecraft updates over the years

its not really dumb especially with everything in 1.18 idk how you can expect that to run on less than a gig of ram especially with minecrafts codebase which is admittedly not that great once you get down to the bear bones of it all This has been getting better as it seems mojang is slowly going back and fixing it based on some preformance improvements, but you really can't expect to be running servers off of nothing

with more things it costs more performance also you have to look at hardware too its become cheaper for more especially storage and ram you can get pretty good prices on

There won't be anything that scans everything that's just asking to crash your server

Imagine your world file goes 5k in each direction so the map size in total would be 5kx5kx5kx5k 25k blocks area * 256 for 6.4 million blocks to scan even if you make something fairly efficient your still going to be man handling your server

You have to load all those chunks

If your looking for dupe stashes / hacked blocks you should be using something like core protect to fix this in the future

A few notes regarding building BSP: the current state of the code, unfortunately, requires you to manually add (the jars of) a few other plugins to the project in order to be able to successfully build BSP. As BSP includes support for many different plugins, such as Kingdoms and EpicSpawners, you need to add those to the project (at least those, which I was not able to add directly via Maven). It requires some initial effort to download those plugins and add them to the project.

For some reason, my backend server is not being forwarded to by bungee, it just says no servers exist, it wont forward me to any servers, its weird
