Basically... Best fixes might be:

lower the view dist. in server.properties
get plugins that will disable lag machines

Why is there even a hosting site?
Normal pc isn't design for running 24/7. If you are a normal guy, I don't think you have that much money to buy a PC to really just run a server.
But i have more ram than what that site can offer
Less ram means more lag, but more ram doesnt means less lag. Even if you have 16 GB, but the server only needs 4gb, then the pc in the hosting site is better for you.

Hi. I've set the spawn on my map using /setworldspawn and /setspawn and when a player dies, sometimes they are tped to the right spawn but other times they are tped to a totally different place on a flatworld that's not even part of my map.

So last night I created my first version of my spigot server. It was only joinable by using "localhost" in the address bar, and it worked

So today I attempt to port forward it. I followed a guide by The Breakdown (which had lots of positive feedback from the comments). I followed the guide, allowed all java programs through my firewall, made sure there wasn't any plugins interfering with anything, ect. So when I try to join using my public IP address, it doesn't work. I try rebooting the server. Doesn't work. Restarting my computer also doesn't work. I try my IPv4 address and that doesn't work either. I got desperate and even tried the Gateway IP. That obviously doesn't work. At this point I check if the server is even joinable, and localhost doesn't work anymore. When I go into the command prompt window for the server, everything is working just fine. I run the /say command to see if there is any response and there was. I do have the latest Java SE Runtime Environment version installed too. I looked through many different forums and couldn't find an answer to something I might've missed and found nothing.

Is there anything else I need to check? Or is there something I'm missing?

Hello everyone, there is a question.
Not so long ago I noticed a video about shadowing items. This video uses update suppressor, a thing that allows you to raise a StackOverflowError so that the block is not updated. I tested this on my local server and noticed that it was already fixed on this core, although everything works fine in a single player world.
Going through all patches of all forks, I found a patch in Spigot which, if I understood correctly, fixes this problem by handling StackOverflowError.

sooooo after trying to figure this out for days now, i kinda give up. i run a small server for myself and my siblings, max amount of players on at once is 5. but it still gets laggy, only have two plugins geyser and floodgate apart from that it is stock. the hardware is a dual xeon x5670 with 8x 10k sas drives in raid 0 and 96gb ram. i have allocated 24gb ram to the server, and it is not maxing out that or the total server ram. i did start lower on the allocated ram and went up in increments of 4. any thoughts?
