Minecraft generates the chunks based on version. So if you don't load a chunk and update versions then load that chunk it will load with the new version

I assume that all of the system overhead comes from actually running the algorithms to carve out the world's landscape and populate it with different stuff.
And that the resource overhead from simply importing those chunks from another world file would be much smaller than generating them in real-time. (Like an automated version of World Edit)
I also assume that it would be possible to create a simplified "world file" (only a fraction of the resolution, and only stores the presence or absence of a chunk rather than its contents... Also much easier to compress) that can be used to exclude certain chunks from the secondary world generation, thereby reducing the time and storage space required to pregenerate those additional world files...
Is there also a way to limit the maximum size of pregenerated world, so that it doesn't extend into the realm of terabytes?
As an example: The world file of 2b2t is already several terabytes in size.

That server has had the same world for 8 years. (I think thats right) And doesn't pregenerate chunks. And its had hundreds of thousands of players over the years. Only hypixel has come close to that amount of players but they don't have a single world that all players use.

sure it’s a feature-oriented fork but given that it has Airplane and Tuinity patches (now merged with Paper) which are known for specializing at high playercounts, hence it’s one of the better options for it

Hey guys, for some reason my server experiences heavy TPS drops at the same time everyday, but with no visible explanation from timings reports. Is there any known possible causes for this? Server has 14g of ram, and 4g of heap for the docker container panel.
If its any help, the server is a OVH Rise-2 Dedi hosted in Canada and also it has raid harddrives, which I believe is causing another problem I’m experiencing, which is 5-7 minutes per server restart
