Hey, I'm trying to figure out the commands.yml file, I had a read about it and thought I had an understanding but apparently not. I'm trying to replace the essentials mute and unmute (Which is the default whenever I use /mute and /unmute with the litebans version of the same commands. I did this in my commands.yml but it still defaults to essentials:

Not all 1.17 plugins require Java 16, since most of them work on previous versions as well.

But you will need Java 16 to run 1.17 because Spigot (and forks) requires it.

It really depends on the plugin developer.

If a plugin only works on 1.17, then it probably requires Java 16.

If the plugin works with 1.8 all the way to 1.17, then it probably works with other Java versions as well. But again, you will need Java 16 to run a 1.17 server.

Yes I know I need java 16 to run 1.17 server.
I just wanted to download a plugin whose last update was a few months ago and suddenly a new version of the download came out last week and I wanted to download, and then when I download the plugin it does not work (while previous versions work). I noticed that the update is an update that plugin will work for 1.17 servers so I thought it was related to that I need JAVA 16

this same thing happened to me with spigot 1.17.0 and still is happening on spigot 1.17.1. I was using spigot 1.16.2 just fine without this issue and my world was generated in vanilla. I disabled all my plugins and it's still happening. anyone else have this issue?

anybody know how to use forcedhosts on bungee? say the main domain was plexus.com, and I wanted a forced host to send a player to Hub-3 if they joined with hub3.plexus.com. I've tried setting it in the config, setting hub3 as an A record on the dns, but neither work, anyone have any ideas?

Alr, so, I have a 7x13 wall I want to turn into a door on my server. I have not yet started learning how to code, so I was trying to find a plugin that would be able to animate or smoothly move blocks. I know how to accomplish this with cmd blocks, but rather use a plugin. It must be for server version 1.8.*

I either need that, or maybe just an entity pathfinding plugin to where I'll just add a path for falling sand entities.

hey people, sorry if this is a basic issue but im very confused. i am migrating my server from shockbyte to hostinger (game panel) in the process i have made sure the instance is setup the exact same as my old server was and simply copied the files over, doesnt sseem to be working. i have attached a log for convenience but basically it gets so far and just keeps restarting it seems.

What is your goal? premade plugins like hubs that have compass items or something usually handle canceling those events. I have no idea if you can find a plugin that purely cancels events without having to code something.

To be fair, that's a Bukkit concept. Java's singleplayer worlds contain just one world folder with multiple dimensions within it.

Hello, I'm making a spigot server but I want to add multiple worlds. one of the worlds I want is a 'bingo' map from flytre. But it doesnt work correctly. It seems as though the command blocks that allow a player to select a team or teleport to the settings room dont work (I have enabled command blocks). Is this a known issue with spigot?

This is as much as I can get from the console at the moment. We found the issue that the proxy wasn't on Java 16, so we changed that and now the hub world just fails to start completely.

Alr, so, I have a 7x13 wall I want to turn into a door on my server. I have not yet started learning how to code, so I was trying to find a plugin that would be able to animate or smoothly move blocks. I know how to accomplish this with cmd blocks, but rather use a plugin. It must be for server version 1.8.*

I either need that, or maybe just an entity pathfinding plugin to where I'll just add a path for falling sand entities.

Players as well as my self (OP), When we place beds down in the nether and the end the bed doesnt do no block damage but does damage mobs and players. I try it with a TNT and it does break the blocks. How do you enable explosive damage on beds?

Good day, I am looking for a plugin for random loot in chests. I rummaged through a lot of forums and resources. I found a couple of seemingly adequate plugins, but they are unfortunately not suitable. The LootChest plugin creates wild TPS drawdowns when the chest base goes over 70-60 Chests.

In RandomChest (RandomChestCmd) You cannot issue NBT-Tags to items (NBT tag Indestructible, breakage level, hide attributes)

RandomLootChest FORK does not allow creating multiple types of chests. (Several types of chests are required, such as Medicinal Chest, Civilian Chest, etc.)

come someone help. only opped players are able to pvp on my server. I have tried EVERYTHING you can imagine, pvp is enabled everywhere possible; worldguard, essentials, server.properties you name it. i even gave everyone the essentials.protect.pvp command just in case, still doesn't work. since only opped players can pvp it seems like its a permissions issue, but i cant find any permission that regards pvp. no message pops up in the chat for default players when trying to hit someone either. I also should note that everyone other condition works (block break/place/falldamage etc)... everything but PVP!!!!! please someone help lmao
