Mainly for security. It leaves you open to targeted attacks, blocklists, etc. It's also due to the limited nature of IPv4 addresses. Not everyone can just have one assigned to them permanently. It's why they cost money.

Having a dynamic IP is the default. If you actually want a static IP, you'll likely have to call your ISP and ask them for one.

Make sure you actually setup the right IP. Your local IP can change as well unless you tell your router not to change it.
One day you might be 192.168.0.8, the next you could easily be 192.168.0.12

Hey Guys! One Question! I am planning an Streaming Server, we already have an server on Fabric. Nothing much changed, mostly an Terralith Mod for World generation and an Origins Mod and Waystones. Is it possible to port the World to an normal Spigot Server ? And port the Waystones too ? I dont want to lose our project. One of the few Questions is, is it possible to use datapacks ?

Yes you can use datapacks on spigot

You probably can’t use origin on spigot

Unless waystones has a spigot version you can’t port the waystones directly

You’ll have to replace them with something spigot friendly

Spigot isn’t meant for mods it’s meant for plugins which are usually server side only

So if you’re looking for mods don’t use spigot

#

If you want to port a world I recommend opening it in vanilla Minecraft single player first

#

And letting that delete all the modded things

#

And then putting that converted world on the server

#

Idk if this is the best method though

So I have a new server set up (no mods aside from dynmap). I'm currently testing with a single person and she has the problem that she has "lag", but only at certain spots. So she can't alter any terrain at certain spots, but other spots work fine.

Anyone knows what that could be? Sounds a lot like permission problems to me, but the log doesn't say anything

Lands does have GUIs, but you need to enter commands to claim the chunks you want. IIRC, there is an autoclaim command and you can just run around the chunks you want to claim, but you'll at least need those commands to claim the land.

Are death messages managed by a plugin? If so, that gamerule might not work.
Did you use the command in the world you want to disable it in? Gamerules are per-world so you’ll need to run it in each world if you want to disable it in all worlds

yes. spigot-1.19.4.jar

also some of the mods im running is saying they dont support the current version, BUT ive personally seen servers with 19.+ running them.
as i couldnt find ANY downloads for a server version older than 19.4 i used that.

how are other servers able to run them? is there a site with links to lower server versions?

EssentialsX is not programmed by me, I not going to hunt for the source code. Upon trying to create a 1.19.3 plugin using maven, I run into issues. But I found out that I can run 1.17.x plugins on 1.19.x versions which I using now for my server

That error is about how it failed to access something internally of NMS. I'd suggest to download buildtools and build 1.19.3 yourself and if you're lucky it actually fixes it. Or download 1.19.3 paper, that's easier than running buildtools

Hey, if you plan to use multiple worlds then you might want to look into Multiverse Core. You may easily create multiple worlds with that one. For worldborders, you may simply use the vanilla command or this plugin https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/worldborder.60905/

What I have been doing back then was to create a quite large border using the WorldBorder plugin and to pre-generate the chunks within it. Greatly improved the game play experience as the chunks loaded pretty quickly. Plus, you are able to keep control of the used storage

Yup but I moved on to velocity and this works like a charm. It is also able to run in online mode which probably creates the issue in the first place

You still need to give yourself or the group you are in the permissions to other plugins. luckperms.* only gives you full access to all of LuckPerms's commands. Nothing more, nothing less.

Weird, cause normally you'd get something like this when you copy and paste web icons. That last part contains the data that makes it look fancy in browsers, but the underlying icon is what you can use. It's also why you can delete that second part by pressing backspace once.

Although I'm not too sure why yours isn't writing properly.

When I start my Minecraft server with a SH script on my Linux server machine, I get an error that I haven't gotten before with this script and it's always worked until randomly, it stopped working and is giving me this error. The error says: start.sh: 7: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting "do"). My script is this

I just think you think I am lying because if I didn't have such a big issue with getting other people outside of Indian cracked client users wanting to join, then I wouldn't be here talking also it's also not easy when the people who join your discord to join the Minecraft server most of the time join in the middle of the night and when I did allow my server's ip to be public I kept getting again nothing except people who want to rule break constantly

You get those types of people when playing Cracked. <- I know that, so no disbelief that they're an issue.
Paid Users are Less likely to Break Rules and Hack, Cheat etc. But they still do.
THAT (2.) is where good Management is important, and to do it correctly.
Which means Good Communication, Simple Effective Rules, Ways to Enforce Them Efficiently.

Quality of Life Plugins
Some Custom Items Plugin There...
World Management Plugins
and Factions + Lifesteal + DeathChest which seems to be the main point of the server...

So you got Survival + PvP as your main focus... You want to focus on adding most quality to that...
Add lots of Custom Items, Gears, Upgrades. Maybe Limit the Map to encourage Player Interaction / run-ins
Custom Server Resourcepack

Don't be on Cracked. Better to be closer to ZERO players than that Garbage.
It also gives you a clean slate to work with.

Then there's the Communication with the Players how you will be handling the server. That's how they'll know whether its a good product or not.
How will you handle Updates, Features, Staff Team, etc.

Not many opinions I can give you since I don't know the Blueprint Idea Design of your Server Project

Does anyone know a reliable and up-to-date broadcast plugin? There are millions as it seems but most of them seem to be outdated.

I just want to send a message every x minutes, that's it. If that's possible without a plugin and using a cronjob on the server, for example, that would be even better, but I couldn't find a way to do that.

Design can be referred to pretty much anything.
As for What you want out of your server, but its always changing each day

Think of all the things you want your server to be, take your time to think about it, put it on a piece of paper or something...
then figure out the best things out of each you want the most.... then see if you can combine them into a good idea you're satisfied with...

If you need inspiration or anything you can also look at your favorite games or other servers and see what you liked about them

Also, I meant to tell you, most if not all of the members that want to join my Minecraft server are finding out about it from my YouTube and idk why but my analytics say 38.1% of my viewers are from India that’s part of the problem with people wanting to join.

But I am still thinking of what I want my design to be I’m just informing you as to what my analytics say for my viewers regions I know they could be using a vpn but it doesn’t seem like they would be if a lot of them joining at Indian daylight hours and specific in Hindi NOT English unless speaking to someone who speaks English and ONLY English.
