a good reason to not use outdated versions 🙂
makes no sense to run an outdated version, and then come here with a suspicion it may be an exploit when it might be true and odds are the recent versions don't have this problem. There is no support for outdated versions so any problems you encounter you are on your own to resolve yourself.

without knowing the exact things going on, doubt anyone would know if they have or not. There is many things that can cause a server or clients to crash or both.
routinely these things get patched and fixed especially in later versions. But without knowing the specifics encountered for you, its hard to say what was the cause. plugins could cause these kinds of crashes as well

A short time ago Mojang released Minecraft 1.19.3 and we have now also updated. This is intended to be a minor release, with the next major release being 1.20. As with Vanilla, experimental features such as camels are available through the experimental datapack, however please note their status as experimental. APIs for these new features are present and the only significant change for servers is the removal of chat previews, creative inventory categories, and some niche built in tags.
Further Information
Please review the 1.19 release notes for further information about this release series. 1.19.3 will become the default version in the coming weeks. Until then you are advised to keep production servers on 1.19.2 and monitor carefully for changes.
Downloading / Installing
In order to get 1.19.3, simply run the latest BuildTools with the required arguments. Please make sure both your BuildTools and Java versions are up to date. There may be mandatory BuildTools updates throughout the 1.19 release cycle, so it is good practice to ensure that you are always using the latest version. You can download the latest BuildTools from this link.

Generally, most projects only support the latest few versions of 1.19.
Some projects have ESRs that are as old as 1.15, but that's quite rare and support would likely be minimal at best.
Anything before that is ancient, has numerous known, severe, bugs, and will virtually never have support.
1.8.* is such a version; it is too old to be supported by basically anyone
More importantly, there are almost no valid use cases to be running that outdated.
Want those old pvp mechanics? There are plugins that replicate them in modern servers.
Want some old plugin from back in the day? Try a fork.
Want players to connect on ancient clients for some obscure reason? Not recommended, but protocol hacks exist.
Having said that, if for some reason you have a valid use case for running an ancient version of the game,
you are probably going to find more luck with the MineCraft archival community (although they mostly focus on alpha and beta versions of the game).

The idea is next:
I have police system on my server and I have few ranks for a policeman, such as police officer, detective, captain and etc.
So from the very start of the employment a real player accepts them to the job and makes them in police1 group (PermissionEX)
But that doesn't mean that they are still working. To avoid them walking without uniform and jailing random people and writing out fines I made this system,
so they need to press a sign to join the shift.
in permissions group I have this
police1 (person who is working at police department, but haven't started the shift)
cop1 (person who started working their shift)
To make it manually I made 2 signs which says "Join Shift" and "End Shift" and I had an idea to make it easy so players who has police1 group can press on a sign and set their group to cop1.
command is /pex user <player> group set cop1 and when they want to end the shift, they press a sign with /pex user <player> group set police1.
But here is the thing. How do I write these commands in the way that they are executed from the console and not from players perspective? I don't want to give players an access to group set all the players and I am pretty sure there is no such a thing as letting them setting only their nickname.
Is there a command, plugin or way to execute command from console not player, to not give them permission?
P.S. - Sorry for long text.
I thought of a way to placing cmd blocks next to these buttons/signs so it just make /pex user @p group set cop1 and vice-versa, but will that work?

I can't really help with PermissionsEx because it's been years since i've used it as it's not really supported anymore as it's a dead plugin as it no longer receives any updates. But, there are plugins like myCMd that allow you to make custom commands than run can be run from console.

That would depend on what's running the command. You could use something like a menu, or an npc maybe.

I've been running paper on my server for quite some time now, i love it, the plugins are amazing. My son asked me to install some mods, like "Oh_The_Biomes_You'll_Go", "Better Animals" etc.
Unfortunately those don't work since they're for Fabric, and when i switch to Fabric, obviously my Paper plugins don't work anymore.
So, the questions are, is it possible to have both work together, and if not, is there any good biomes mods, animals mods etc for Paper ?

Hey so im helping my friend with a server (first time trying to make one). I was looking at the anti cheat list and was trying to find the right one. We want it to be an anarchy type server where cheats are aloud just not completely game breaking ones. Kind of like a 2b type deal. Any recommendations as to what anti cheat to use?

hi, i was trying to make a mc server on ubuntu server, so i used docker, and i runned the commands told here https://hub.docker.com/r/nimmis/spigot. The thing is that everything runs normal until this

afaik just drop in Geyser-Spigot.jar in ur plugins folder, altho u might need to change something with secure profiles in server.properties

also looks like using just ViaVersion on the backend server (not velocity) should be sufficient
