#Which setup for 1440p ultrawide?

I'm looking at two specific PCs on the PCS website for my first gaming PC. Budget is around 3k, so the two options (both have 32GB RAM) are:

  1. 9700x with a 5080
  2. 7900x3d with a 5070ti

I have a 1440p ultrawide monitor, and I'm planning to use this machine as my main gaming platform going forward. Ideally I'll be able to mess around with some bells and whistles (path-tracing?) but the most important thing for me is future proofing myself so I can play new games going forward for a few years. Option 1 looks appealing given that the GPU is obviously better, but I wonder would the CPU bottleneck? I'm seeing mixed reports on the 9700x online ...

Thanks!

Cost-wise both options are the same, for context

These were the two links (though you can post them yourself now :))

  1. https://www.pcspecialist.ie/computers-for-next-day-delivery/1758/ (9700x & 5080)
  2. https://www.pcspecialist.ie/view/Specter-Pro/ (9800x3d & 5070ti)

Personally I'd pick the Specter Pro, the 5070TI is only a little behind in performance compared to the 5080, is less power hungry, and the 9800X3D is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better for gaming, the 3d V-cache lets you have a much smoother experience

better in what sense? if I was looking to crank path tracing with dlss in cyberpunk/re9 for example?

I'm new to the cpu/gpu world so I'm still trying to figure out how they interact haha

So the 9800\X3D won't help much in terms of max FPS over the 9700X as it's 1440p gaming, the CPU isn't as important for FPS, but what it will do is make that FPS much smoother

the ray/path tracing will be better on the 5080, but honestly not by much over the 5070ti
