Hi.
Wondered if anyone here has experience of build configurations for Ninjatrader.
As I understand it, high speed cpu, but not necessarily usage of multi core, gpu for multi monitor support, but nt8 annoyingly doesn’t make huge use of gpu hardware acceleration only directx.
I guess any hardware bottleneck re hdd/ssd and RAM could be removed.
Thought I’d see if anyone has done this here before.
#Specific PC build for NT8 NinjaTrader.

Thanks for creating a spec thread!
Please be sure to include answers to the following questions so people can assist you quicker.
- What is the purpose of your PC/laptop? (e.g. gaming, general work, 3D rendering)
- What monitor resolution will you be using? (e.g. 1080p, 1440p, 4k)
- What is your budget including currency symbol? (e.g. £2,000, 1000€)
- Is this budget just for the PC or do you need peripherals as well? (e.g. monitor, mouse, keyboard etc.)
- Which country are you purchasing from? (Note that we only operate in the UK and Europe)
- Any brand preferences?
If you could answer the BOTs questions you havent already answered it will help people 🙂
I think you've gone WAY over board with that spec
Yes, a fast CPU is important, and more memory is good. But a workstation GPU, no
And I'd be looking at a DDR5 based platform, not DDR4
Just to answer the bot questions:
- Primary use is NT8/Ninjatrader. Ill keep my current pc for the rest, office, outlook etc.
- 4 DP monitors circa 3440x1440 (curently use 1 x 3440x1440 and 3 x 1920x1080)
- budget depends on value, but circa £2000-3000
- May buy 4 new 34' monitors, dont need to be great spec for gaming
Im replacing:
CPU: 1st CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2680 v4
GPU: Nvidia Quadro M4000
SSD: Crucial MX500 1TB
RAM: 128 GB Samsung M393A4K40BB1-CRC 4x31.8GB
MBD: Dell Precision Tower 7810
Well an Arrow Lake CPU or Ryzen 9000 series CPU would def outperform that Xeon.
Good point re DDR 4
Re GPU, if I wanted to drive 4 34' DP monitors, what would be other options?
4070 or 50 series equivalent would do the job fine. Again, you probably don’t need high fps, just smooth graphs
