Please be sure to include answers to the following questions so people can assist you quicker.
- What is the purpose of your PC/laptop? (e.g. gaming, general work, 3D rendering)
- What monitor resolution will you be using? (e.g. 1080p, 1440p, 4k)
- What is your budget including currency symbol? (e.g. £2,000, 1000€)
- Is this budget just for the PC or do you need peripherals as well? (e.g. monitor, mouse, keyboard etc.)
- Which country are you purchasing from? (Note that we only operate in the UK and Europe)
- Any brand preferences?
Make sure to inlcude what you will use the PC for and budget
And we don't know if it's enough fans as you've not provided the full spec

Uh what?
changed to 2 drives, 512GB purely for OS, 2TB one for everything else
Doubt the psu needs to be that big either. 850w should be fine
if the windows drive were to die, you wouldnt lose anything on your second drive
Get rid of the corsair cooler and get the pcs frostflow 360
there we go, changed it above
I'd change the 2tb to the p41 too
also got rid of the arctic MX4 paste as the AIO paste will be just fine
Aye
Wheres that?
Ok
I can't cos I'm in Ireland and config will change slightly

It will fit in your budget, but if you really needed the extra storage, a 4TB M.2 SSD will fit in
I dont care about the storage its fine , i only wanted help with the coolers bro
then the build above will run just fine 🙂
No point in buying something that won't work well or is overkill etc
Yh i just wanna make sure my cpu is cool as possible
iCUE stuff is just 💩 , the frostflow will perform just as good at more than half the cost
Corsair icue software is dreadful
You don't need to use iCue. You can just get FanControl and SignalRGB
Whilst the Frostflow and Corsair coolers will perform very similar in cooling a CPU, the Corsair unit is quieter
I am yet to have a PCS build, for mibu's go and see https://discord.com/channels/690166107616837667/1334525513183793162
Here, I make it easier 😉
Yepp...and no iCue
As stated above, no need for it
Sinve v5, iCue really REALLY sucks
Cool i got the 360 argb one
When i try click proceed a giant message pops up
Saying to put the radiator on top or front?
Dealers choice...I prefer it on top as heat rises and the fans will serve as a nice exhaust
Works especially well if your case has fans already built int
Yh i got the same case as you
But white
Top it is then
heres the new and improved build
Its only 7 quid
oh wait thats the before pic
No its new

you want this
the paste theres no need for as the cooler has it pre-applied
Why the extra memory stuff?
You don't need it if you don't have your PC under constant CPU strain
The coolers come with paste preapplied
Also, up the warranty to silver. Double the peace for only a fiver
I have the Arctix paste for a reason...and I am an outlier
Storage drive
ah
512GB purely for OS
if that drive dies, you can do a clean install knowing all your games are unharmed on the 2TB
Plus windows takes around 120-150GB of storage so you'd instantly lose out on a decent chunk
Easy to keep it all separate as having windows and games on just a drive will get slow VERY quickly
Listen to Airbus...
It's VERY good practise to have the seperate 0.5TB drive just for your OS
1st m.2 ssd drive i put it to 512gb
just use the link i sent
PCSpecialist is an award-winning manufacturer of high quality custom PCs & Laptops. Configure the AMD Am5 PC to your ideal requirements.
just use that link, it has everything applied already
That is the storage drive
Gotcha
Is the air cooler any good?
Im just really worried about the aio cooler liquid thing
But i heard its not good for the 9800x3d
you'll want the aio liquid cooler as itll better dissipate the heat away from the CPU
Air cooled can only do so much before it becomes fully saturated then it becomes less effective
so the liquid AIO is perfect for the 9800X3D
just use the link I sent above, like I said it has everything selected already so theres no faffing about : )
yes the frostflow 360 AIO is good
no but in 90% of the build we help here we recommend that over anything else
I dont have a PCS build myself
What about the other 10%
thatll be build like mibu with the corsair coolers
honestly its nothing to worry about
not personally no, but even then the 'incidents' tend to be GPU or other related
I wouldnt recommend it if it was a bad product
but again, I don't own a PCS build, however I can tell you for a fact most of the people I have helped or watched others help have had 0 issues
we recommend the frostflow 360 for its good price to performance
Sure thing man thanks
@forest orchid does the game that i play control the temperature? For the cpu
Cos i usually play those indie games that are hd2d
Or really chill games
I barely play any intense games
depends on the load from the game
but i'd still stick with what you've got incase you DO move onto intense games
if you want to change the fan speeds once you have the PC, use fancontrol
tbh the 9800x3d at stock settings is quite a low power chip, that's one of the selling points of the 9000 series, so cooling shouldnt be a big issue for the most part
the 360 will do just fine
the extra cooling gives it that little bit more in terms of performance as itll take longer for the radiator to become saturated with heat
I personally would've paid the extra for the AIO knowing that for the price of the CPU I'm paying for a quality product which will cool it better
Plus, with it being an air cooler the fins will only hold so much heat until it becomes saturated. Whereas having an AIO the fluid is constantly being pumped around and cooled meaning itll take much longer before it loses its effectiveness. Personally seems like a no brainer to just stick with the build and keep the AIO
See https://discord.com/channels/690166107616837667/1334857711724007434, https://discord.com/channels/690166107616837667/1334952363122888866, https://discord.com/channels/690166107616837667/1330171509242859582 as they all have 9800X3D's in and we've recommended the Frostflow 360 AIO for ALL of them. You'll thank yourself later when you're doing heavy gaming and seeing nice warm temps from the AIO compared to the air cooler which ends up trapping alot of heat
ive seen people have incidents of the aio cooler turning to sludge or leaking
alot more cons of having a aio over a air cooler
also air coolers last for years and are reliable
then they've had defective units, doesnt mean suddenly all AIO's are going to act like that. You might need to check the fluid like once a year but AIOs are definitely more reliable, especially for high-end chips like the 9800X3D
why skimp on a cooler when for £20 more you'll be getting better thermal performance?
plus if something went wrong thats what the 1 year Silver Warranty is for, and PCS would replace it no questions asked
oh fr?
I havent seen a single spec discussion here where we've recommended an air cooler for the 98x3D
if you're worried something may go wrong after a year, simply upgrade to the gold warranty which covers you for 2 years collect and return, 2 yrs parts and 3yrs labour
bro might be confusing custom loop liquid cooling with AIO?
you'd find yourself cleaning out the air cooler more often than the AIO
PCSpecialist is an award-winning manufacturer of high quality custom PCs & Laptops. Configure the AMD Am5 PC to your ideal requirements.
can you double check to make sure its fine?
change drive 1 to a 512GB solidigm P44 Pro
kl
remove the thermal paste
and change warranty to silver or gold if you're worried about the AIO

thats the final build
perfect 🙂
if i order on tuesday its gonna arrive in 7-9 days right?
cos ive been seeing 5080's out of stock everywbere
u guys at pcs got ur own stock of 5080s?
7-9 working days, so itd take around 2 weeks before dispatch
yeah, only on prebuilds
you can pay for faster build time
yeah so you'll still get one
niceee
as long as it doesnt say pre-order, which it doesnt, itll be in stock
tysm bro i really appreciate it
thanks for putting up with my stupid questions lmfao
really appreciate ur help
no problem, wasnt tryna be annoying about the AIO but trust me you'll notice a big difference in thermals when it comes to heavy gaming
glad you'll have a sweet build though!
oh yeah this is gonna be a beast lol
my first ever pc too im excited
my wooting keyboard and razor mouse came in earlier this week
ordered my mouse pad from artizen
got a 4k oled 32 inch monitor from alienware
i cant wait to game again after so long
of then you'll defo appreciate the cooling once it arrives. Glad I could help though 😄
perfect, make sure to show off the beast in #1128254319859355698 !
AIO are sealed units and have no service options iirc
Pcs cant replace em if they go bad?
They can, I was referring to checking the liquid. Stop overthinking it
NOOOOO
Lmao wow i literally get paid tomorrow from work😭😭😭😭
I was gonna buy tomorrow noooo
You can still order, just means there will be a delay waiting for stock - hopefully not too long - when you press Proceed it may even have an estimate of when they are expected in
Oh yeah I got them mixed up lol
Ok
For what it's worth, I've been on an AIO for some years now and nothing has turned to sludge or leaked
Those "horror" stories of breaking AIO's are like a decade old at this point
Man the second ive come across those stories i panicked lol
Do you really think that they'd be so widely popular and still leak fluids into a precious PC?
Especially considering that the pump and rad tend to sit above our expensive GPU's
True point
the aio in my old pc is nearly 8 years old... prob no fluid left in it!
Uhhhhh
Get it fixed asap?!
Really not how closed loop AIO's work
Is there some level of evaporation? Yes there is
But would you notice it in lets say a five to ten year span? I'd say no
And by then you will likely have moved on to something else anyways
Yeah after 8 years you certainly wouldnt still be doing anything like gaming anymore, everything woudl be very out of date
HELL YEAH 9800x3d BACK IN STOCK
Ey where’s the 512GB M.2 SSD?
I’m only seeing the 2TB one
And the goddamn thermal paste 😂
Please for the love of god removeeeeeee
Huh where do i put that?
Its only 7 quid mate😭
If it makes it cooler then sure
Change drive 1 to the 512GB SOLIDIGM P44 Pro, then for drive 2 add the 2TB solidigm P44 Pro
it’s not needed as the cooler comes with paste preapplied which ends up being just as good
Reason: Bad word usage
Damn i forgot to change
Im guessing its too late to change it now huh
It's not but do as you please. People can only advise so much
How do i change it ??
You must have been told 10 times already so little point in me explaining it again
ive already made the order tho??
ive paid for it
No need to keep tagging me
go to the order, at the end of the page is an option to amend order, at least thats where I think it is on mobile
doesnt that cancel it?
an amendment is just that, an amendment
oh lol
I was just scrolling to that
it's happened before, and i can tell you now, unless you explain why you didn't do as advised, folks will quickly stop helping or even start ridiculing you
especially after openly admitting you are clueless about PCs
i got it
Is this fine to keep them at different speeds or should they both be the same?
P44 512gb in 1 and p41 2tb in 2
Scroll up, look at the fantastic spec given to you by airbus, and correct your mess to that
This had been explained numerous times
Thanks
Went with the 5080 and 9800x3d
But then i forgot to add in another ssd
Now the guys were telling me what i should do lmao
I think i might have gotten the last 5080😂😂😂😂😂
Cos now when i try amend the order it says 5080 out of stock
Lmao rip
Don't forget to get this thread printed and make a book 🙈
Lmaoo
i'll stick up for you a bit even if just to add some more confusion: tbh its not such a big deal to have the os on a separate drive, just make sure it has a big enough partition to grow on (e.g. 250 GB min.) and try not to mess around with anything that looks important in your windows settings
Yeah the drive 2tb so thats massiveeee
I highly doubt id ever max it out
It can happily work on one drive with other stuff, but it is best practice to have Windows on its own drive, means if you need to reinstall then you dont lose anything and you just dont have to worry about the contents of that drive. - and well you dont need a 2TB for that
And again best practice best not to have too much on the windows drive as it does slow things down
Best decision I made was listening to the guys here and having two hard drives one exclusively for windows.
Yes it will work fine as it is but will be better (for a minimal change) as suggested by many above
Just spoke to a guy on the phone
Lovely chap did it all for me 😂
But yeah u guys were right
Of course we were
All done and i was the last person to get a 5080 palit 😂
Yay
Two SSDs.....
Only half listening as always
Look, we're not working for PCS so aren't getting comission are any other kind of kickback
The guys here are helping from the goodness of their hearts...or lack of to get you some good kit and make best use of your budget
Yeah that’s why they were getting pissed lol (sorry)
I honestly cant thank you all enough for helping me out these past couple days
Can you believe before i joined here, the total price was 2.4k 😭😭😭 omg my pc would have been screwed
What was the total price after coming here ?
2.9
And to think that you "only" wanted advice on the cooler 😉
That's nothing new and to be expected for the next while until stock levels rise
Enjoy your machine mate, glad I could help so much 🙂
MVP right there
I originally wanted the 4080 super but they took it off the site 😭😭😭😭
I was shocked
(Achilles thinks I mean Most Valuable Player where, in reality, I mean Minimum Viable Product)
Didnt wanna get the 5080 but i had no choice
Nah he helped alot leave him alone
Production of those cards stopped a while ago...so it had to happen at some point
I really didn’t do anything but glad you got the help you need mate. I’m checking out now, let us know when you get it in #🗨️general-discussion !! Peace
