cobbled together quickly, unfortunately the budget does make things tough(silver warranty added)

I just ordered a pc almost identical to that for £996. Only difference was I went for their brand of SSD as it's cheaper and the read and write speeds are already so fast that for gaming it doesn't make sense to go faster. That allowed me to go for 3600mhz corsair RAM instead as ryzen does like faster speeds.
That's what I'd recommend changing and then yeah that's a great build for the price. Can't wait for mine it arrives next monday
the PCS branded SSD's don't have the best track record, I was lucky for a long time, but recently my boot drive (a PCS branded one) died on me, so I hate recommending them now
Hmm, that's disconcerting lol, I hope I got lucky with the one I'm getting lol
Still though, I suppose drives are relatively easy to upgrade or replace so isn't too big of an issue
If you got your build recently, then it will likely have a different PCS m.2 in them, as it's true there were some issues which arose with the previous iteration of drive and we chose to make the switch to improve reliability.
cool, good to know that I am not recommending a potential timebomb
Any drive can fail at any time.. that's the nature of hardware unfortunately. So always good to keep backups of anything that's important.
Ah, I see, yeah It arrives for me next week as i ordered it last week, so I'm assuming that PCS drives are better now and I get a good one, one can hope!
All I can say is that over time we noticed some issues arising so they were swapped, and all being well these will be fine 🙂
I generally recommend the Solidigm m.2's if people have a bit more extra budget because they have been tried and tested over a period of time afaik - but I know when budgets are really tight you want to squeeze as much performance out of the PC as you can - which is where the PCS m.2's come into play well 🙂
I'll probably look to replace it about a year down the line anyways, but it's good to hear they've been improved!
DrLeft's build is solid by the way @uneven ledge - just whack the silver warranty onto that and you're good to go.
I didn't include it?
Awesome everyone. Thanks 😃
you will want to feed it more storage later, but thatfully thats not hard
1 TB unfortunately does not go very far these days, especially after windows parks it's fat butt on a drive
Does not include a Wi-Fi card lol
And?
Did they say they need WiFi?
And there is still some room in the budget if they do, so what does it matter?
Or did you ping me for no reason to not add anything constructive?
