Hey everyone! I'm just kind of browsing currently but I am looking for a gaming pc for around £2000 or under, preferably Intel and Nvidia as those are the only two I'm familiar with as I've been using them for ages and I do a bit of VR, I do a lot of gaming and streaming, I currently have a 1080p monitor with 144hz but I am looking to possibly upgrade to 2k/4k in the future, If at all possible I would like a pc more on the quieter side as I have sensitive hearing, decent storage would be lovely too! 🙂

Do you need wifi? also are intel and nvidia a strict requirement because amd has better gaming cpus and better value on graphics cards too. Also do you want air cooling or liquid cooling for your cpu?

#

you could go with something like this if you dont need wifi but i’d suggest going with a 7800xt over the 4070 since its cheaper and has higher vram (12gb vs 16gb) as well as very similar performance

I'm willing to have some AMD ones suggested if they're the better choice these days, I just heard that they are sometimes tricky with VR on specific things, No Wifi is required as I'm always plugged into ethernet x] Liquid cooling would be a bonus as most computers i've owned so far have had overheating issues and my room can get a little warm at times

I'm been looking at a similar pc build for under 2000. Done a lot of research and AMD seems to be a more future proof choice right now as the motherboards can be upgraded into 2025, but Intel cpus will need a new motherboard after this generation.

The beat value GPU right now seems to be the 7800xt and I've gone for the ryzen 7600x cpu. I think the build I chose was around 1700 with 850w psu, 32gbddr5 ram and 1tb ssd.

You could go for a slightly better 7 series chip if you want to get nearer the £2000 mark.

Ahhh my bad, I see all the channels and things now

#

How do I link a build after I've edited one posted above? sorry about the trouble

Edit the configuration to how you want it, press Proceed, then press the Post To Forums button and the page that appears will show the spec and there will be a unique link under the spec list

I've edited a link that Josh posted above as it's the closest to what I'm looking for roughly, I changed a few things such as the processor as I multitask a loooot and I really like a little rgb and such, is everything okay on this roughly? it's slightly over-budget but that's okay https://www.pcspecialist.ie/saved-configurations/intel-z790-ddr5-pc/W2e6aeW7fq/

Ah you're right yeah, the one Junior posted seems to be more than enough for what I'm looking for, I would like slightly more storage (3TB ideally as my current pc has hit about 2.5) what would be the best way to budget this with at least 1TB on SSD?

Using Juniors config https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/intel-z790-ddr5-pc/m0KYEkU0MN/

the 13600kf is cheaper but doesnt have integrated graphics, although since you have a dedicated graphics card (the 4070ti) it doesn’t really matter

#

i know you would prefer nvidia but to put it out there as an option the amd radeon 7900xt is comparable in performance to a 4070ti and has 20gb of vram instead of 12gb like the 4070ti

#

it currently costs 1£ more than the 4070ti on pcspecialist

Hey all sorry to revamp an old post (Mentioned I was browsing before, but managed to save up enough now to actually purchase, with a bit extra!) I went ahead with a lot of the advice given in here and through sales team, and gave in to the idea of AMD

#

A majority here is what others suggested, only main difference I've done is slightly more storage and went for the 4080 Super (as that wasn't out at the time I posted this before)
Hopefully everything here is all valid, did run a quick check with the sales team beforehand but thought I'd double check here too

#

also I increased budget to £2500 roughly

Looks good to me
The only thing I would change is the first drive an drop that down to a 500GB as, personally, I'd only have Windows on there and a couple of pesky apps that insist on being installed to the C: drive
Adding more storage at a later point is easy as pie

As above, and if you can afford it, change the 2TB to P44 version. But no issue with build if you can’t. Looks fine.

azure oar
#

if so I'm more than willing to pay the little extra as it's still in the pre production stage

#

Not a drastic change, but worth upping if you can afford.

azure oar
#

I've made the change to p44, I'll most likely hold onto the 1TB for the first just as a big backup, and for some other bits I need to hold on there (same as my current pc in that regard)

Would also drop to the B650 motherboard, don’t think you’ll need the X670. Or swap to the B650 AORUS elite if it’s still an option. Fab board that

#

Also don’t think you’ll need that extra case fan, unless you want every slot filled. Case comes with one at the back and one at the front. Front one will be moved to the top as AIO will go at the front

looking forward to it 😄

my PC arrived today, thank you to all the advice here as it's perfect so far! super quiet which I was shocked by, and runs as smooth as can be
