Dropping mobo to a cheaper one and swapping aio for air cooler gives a more balanced build

is the corsair 3000D case just alright, not too loud or anything with the fans?
No personal experience of the case, but if it’s as good as the 4000 then it should be fine.
What do you reckon if i use 7th gen parts, would it be better and how much mroe expensive will it be
Could you give me like a 7th gen build that would be around the price of £1200
7th gen??
as best I can tell, this is the only difference, size wise they are very similar
4000 __ has the vertical PCI mount, 3000 doesn't
Interesting, I had assumed the 3000 was smaller, looks like it's basically a 4000 with a few less features
No front USB-C, different fans included, etc.
Ryzen 7000?
Ok, not referred to as 7th Gen. Better, yes, in terms of future upgradabilty, but it's a good bit more expensive.
At your budget, AM4 is probably the better option
Certainly possible https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/amd-am5-pc/babyQHs6s7/
Although you're skimping on storage in this build, and PSU is unideal for a good upgrade path (would 'only' get you onto a 4070)

Could go 6700XT which is marginally faster than 3060TI (and quite a lot faster than 4060) for £1,341
does the 6700XT perform significantly better than the 4060 for gaming n stuff?
Not actually as big as I thought it'd be. Another 12%. But you do also get the 12GB of VRAM which will better stand the test of time
fair enough, for a first gaming pc and the budget i have rn, would you recommend sticking to am4s or upgrading to the am5s
am i better off with a 3060?
Difficult choice, do you think you'll be upgrading your PC at all?
atm no, but maybe it will change in the future, but rlly unsure atm
the most i can think of is increasing the memory
if thats the case, would u recommend getting a lower PSU?
hmmmm, I'd probably go 7500 6700, it'll just give you more performance
Nah, wouldn't go any lower than 650
also, what does PWM mean?
Not actually sure what it stands for- it's to do wiht fan control- you get the most with PWM and some with DC
pulse width modulation
Basically there's a fourth wire that allows greater control of the fan speed. DC fans only have three wires and are limited to running at set voltages, so less percise control. These days most fans are 4 pin PWM, unless you've gone with some really cheap ones
does the fans from 3000D have PWM?
Yes
One final thing, would windows 11 software be installed by default on the 1st ssd?
I think they might ask what drive you want it installed on. But yes normally installed on the smallest, fastest drive
it didnt ask me when i saved the quote so yea https://i.imgur.com/pBwhkUo.png
You going with that drive selection or changing it?
our views on cheap fans are very different 😂
How so? 😛
will probably do, would you?
Cheap fans to me are still SATA or Molex
DC is perfectly fine, PWM is nice
I would. I'd go with a better brand than PCS to start with. PCS is fine... but I'd prefer a brand name with a track record in relability, etc
SATA and molex are not "cheap", they're "utter dirt"
oh fair enough
which brand would u recommend
if id to change the first drive
Seagate out of the options available would be my first choice. Solidigm is a good cheaper option. Corsair somewhere in the middle
Sorry I said seagate, I meant Samsung
I have one of each so got them mixed up 😂
I'd go with a M.2 over SSD. Or at least m.2 for your boot drive and then a larger SSD for data/games
