#PC specs.. would you change anything?

i'm guessing you already have a gpu?
Would help if we knew your budget and uses of said machine
Sorry the GPU is the Asus 4080 OC TUF, did want strix but can’t see it available my bad
My budget would be like 4k I’d say
with a budget of 4k you'd be in the range of a 4090
That’s only if I go for a founders edition , the 4090 Asus TUF is a extra 200 ish
pcs don't do FE cards
Ahh ok I haven’t checked that
the factory overclocked cards generally aren't much superior if you're talking a 4090
even the worst brand 4090 is STILL a 4090 lmao
What are you going to be using said machine for?
Machine is for strictly gaming, 240hz 1440p at the moment
What games? I play everything haha
4k is good enough for a full setup. You dont really need a 4090 or a 4080 for 1440p.
As Nym said theyre not FE cards, the 'unbranded ones in the configurator are generally Zotac, Palit or Gigabyte cards fyi - you don't get to choose - personally I've had all three brands before and all have been perfectly fine
I haven’t upgraded in over 7 years hence the parts. I am debating to go 4k with a Samsung G9
Ah okay that makes sense, I just feel shall I just stick with 4080 or push to a 4090
if you're going to be getting a monitor like the g9 the 4080 or 4090 will certainly be able to do anything you want with great viewing experience
wait. How much resolution is the G9 again?
its like super wide.
Yeah I think I’m pretty set on the Asus 4080 OC TUF, but everyone keeps telling me to get the strix card
Nah it’s not super wide , just 4k standard 32inch curved
I was gonna get a g7 240g 1440p
i kinda advise against the factory OC cards since they're crazy price and the performance increase with those GPU's aren't massive
Yeah I keep hearing that a lot
especially since the price difference between that 4080 tuf card and a 4090 is £100 lol
gaming not so much, things like renders it'll get toasty
Yeah I don’t do any of that just games 🙂
For gaming you dont need a 13900k
a bit overkill for the price.
have you considered an amd cpu btw? since you're just gaming the x3d chips are a great choice
Never used them, but was curious
the 7800x3d is probably what i'd say to go with for gaming
the 7900x3d is also an option but a fair amoutn more expensive
I'd personally wouldn't suggest the 7900x3D. You're losing performance of a normal 7900x
Artic thermal paste £9 should I add that rather than standard thermal
the cooler you chose comes with thermal paste and is more than fine
Corsair should have their own thermal paste on the AIO.
At least if you're buying the Corsair AIOs
Would you change any of the Corsair braided cables
Kinda wanted them
Guess it all looks really
Yeah tempting
i made 2 4090 specs, basically the only difference is the cpu
I’m coming from a i7-4770k and gtx 1080
one of my firends is still using their 1080 too
they're planning to upgrade with a similar budget to you
but yeah here's the intel build https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/intel-z790-ddr5-pc/xKjBySyJjZ/

both have basically the same performance
if you have any questions about the choices just shoot em in here
I literally have no idea how big the difference will be
Gonna be crazy
Cheers
My pc is caked in dust
i went from a 2070 super to one of the new amd cards and the performance increase was insane
and considering you're going from a 1080 to possibly a 4080/90 you'll feel like you're on a spaceship
Yeah, it be nice to run games with high fps again, I’m gonna ask PCS if I can collect the machine when I order
I only live 30 mins away
Yes you can, you just need to let them know 🙂
