#Ships and modules...so many modules

As much ships per fleet so you can stack admiral buffs.
Generally build types of ships that your alloy economy allows (corvettes early game, cruiser about midgame, battleships are alloy heavy).
Afterburners are great on all ship types, so if confused, put afterburners. Shield capacitors, armor hardening, shield hardening modules are more advanced tech that are expensive and have a niche use case for sweaty minmaxers like me. Just slap something that looks good, it's your game.

Regenerative plating that repairs hull and armor is also great for longer wars since you don't have to repair them as often. Same goes for nanite modules. No module is super terrible besides shield capacitors.
Rule of thumb:
Point defence kills missiles and strike craft (hangars)
Hangars kill small ships (corvettes, destroyers and other strike craft)
Disruptors are great all around cause they bypass everything
Torpedoes demolish big ships and stations but are short range
Big weapons (L-slot/X-slot) are super damaging but also miss regularly and can't shoot point blank
etc etc etc
I see, what shiproles are the best suited for which ships? Example i heard destroyers with only disruptors are great or Frigattes should be used for topedos
in PVE its quite simple
Disruptors against the AI
Anti armor weps with armor against the Pythorean swearm
Shields and anti shield weapons against the unbidden
something along the lines of Tachyon lance battleships against the unbidden
Other then riddle cruisers normally you just spam cruisers and only a few battleships
what are unbidden if i may ask?
3rd crisis
And Cetana is topedo spam
as its a giant ship
thanks
so do you think cruisers disruptors only are enough until late game? just these type of ships?
for singleplayer
yes
unless your fighting something special Ex: the khan/midgame crisis
for khan tmn you usally spam neutron torpedos with a FTL jammer on a neutron star system that disables shields
