#What are your opinions on chameleons?

I think the problem is people don’t understand how much care they need. They can make great pets, but they need a lot of care and it can be quite costly and difficult, especially for first time owners.
I find them fascinating, but likely wouldn't have one myself due to their lifespan and how sensitive they seem to be.
I saw a Panther Chameleon the other day and though it was GORGEOUS, but considering how finnicky they are, I'd only get one after I've got my own permanent home and a few years of reptile keeping under my belt.
Their hands are so weird but soooo cute at the same time!
They look super cool but are way to much work for me.
Cool looking animals , but they dont live long 😦
I'm afraid they're gonna dislike my opinions and die out of spite
That's just me.
I feel like people be hatin on chameleons for no reason.
Honestly theyre really cool and unique animals and neat pets from what ive seen. However most people who own them got them at petsmart and dont know how to care for them lol
Having owned them in the past (currently on the fence about owning them again), I think they're curious little creatures. However, I do wish people would be more realistic about their care and realize that even though it sounds a lot and does cost a lot, it is worth it in the end. I agree, though, that they do receive a wrongfully given reputation and have no specific reason to be hated.
dope and beautiful, wish they lived longer
they aren’t good pets for a lot of people. for some, they make great pets. unfortunately so many people want them bc they “change color to camouflage” and then unnecessarily handle them. you also have to be ok with the possibility that you will pay a lot for an animal who might hate you no matter what.
i like them but i wouldnt like recommend them for first pets or anything,, i feel like another hard thing is they need live plants and i suck at plants lol so yeah
they are very neat but they just don’t pique my interest as much as other animals. likely because when i was younger i saw reptiles, especially chameleons, as an animal i would never ever be qualified to care for and that they were “expert only”, so i never really had the time to learn to enjoy them ||kinda wish more people had the mindset young me had||
