Howdy fellas! About 2 months ago my turtle had broken off a part of his beak. Taking him out of the tank I had noticed his face had a white film on it that I could not scrub off.I am only able to really see it when hes out of the water and drt. I just noticed that it seems to almost be like a scab. Im not sure if this is just dead skin over where his beak is growing or if it is preventing it. Any info for my little fella would be greatly appreciated!

always better safe than sorry imo, I would go to the vet
Yes. I would say go to a vet
I agree
I just wonder what it is?
Its hard and rough, its not fungal or anything
<@&821923597702135839> , best that I can do as we dont have a designated turtle helper from what I can see
I dont know jack on turtles but curious to when his last shed was and when do you think he will shed again
iirc breaks always grow and sometimes need to be clipped if the animal is kept in poor conditions, so hearing it chipped makes me want to believe it will grow back and be fine but also seeing the "white scrab"....
It reminds me of chapped lips almost hold on, imma do research
Ya hes done it in the past and i just kinda shaved it down so it would be the same length as the other, he just broke it via biting shit he shouldn't. But ive never had to actually clip his beak because i give him bones
But no, ive decided im certainly going to the vet
After i saw the inside of his moth
What did you see, if you dont mind me asking?
I cant rly explain
It kinda looked like dried calcium on the inside of his moutj
Kinda like the outside
Which yes the inside should look white, but it looked kinda rough
Good news is none of this seems to cause him any discomfort
That's good
