#Horizontally divide the lower farming area into two areas

Self explanatory, the lower farming area feels extremely overwhelming and the northern farming area feels just right so it makes sense to divide the lower one into two seperate farming areas.

you know you can do it yourself by putting some paths in the middle of the field? that way you will get the sensation of separate field

The reason for coded divide mostly (for me) would be nice because scrolling through Field 2 to the bottom every time gets a little tedious.

you can even divide the lower field into smaller areas if you want, which I did and its a good way to design the area

I guess I was mistaken, thanks for letting me know!

I see then hopefully more ppl will vote this suggestion

I also think the 2nd field is large enough to be divided into 2 fields while still maintaining the size for other things

Changing it would mess with farms/people who do have existing farming placement/systems in place with that update though, especially if this is a sizeable divide like the current one between the current north and south fields — and the divide may or may not also make for less farmable tiles as well. Not against the idea, but just pointing that out

i'd be more open to alternate maps similar to SDV, but i like the map as is, and DEF wouldnt want my layout getting wrecked by a map change.

speaking of SDV maybe we can get options to choose the size of our fields so there would be fields with different sizes and you can choose the layout and everything to suit your need that would be cool

#

but for now maybe try to use both path and fence to divide the 2nd field as a temporary solution, the dirt path blends really well with the off-field areas and you can make it as wide as you want and the fence really help to add a separation sense

#

what I did was dividing it horizontally like what I show on my map picture above, I only use one line cause I don't need that much of separation sense but if you want you can put like 3-5 wide dirt path to get bigger gap

#

then for the 2nd half I divide it again into 3 this time vertically so I have 4 different fields to work on

#

I hope this help in the mean time

My wife runs 12 max barns with pasture for the animals, 4 breeding huts and 2 granary. The lower area is just big enough for this project with a garden to boot. The upper area for us holds a modest orchard.

It would really help if the game had a zoom-out option like Stardew. Paths and fences don't really help when you can't tell if you're laying them in the right places. That's the trouble with spatial perception. I can't picture the whole space in my mind while designing so I end up constantly redoing layouts because I've under- or overestimated the space I have at my disposal.

Alternate maps would be a great solution.
