Right now difficulty adjusts to the number of players unless your are in a private game. For some the current play through is a bit fast even with full lobbies. To keep it friendly for everyone could have a bi-weekly difficulty event for those who want a bit more challenge besides the ordeals. Amp up the enemy difficulty but maybe include more randomized events like more epics on the main map etc. chambers don't open until you complete it or something. Have some new drops for those who make it through. Have a well or something you hit in dark woods to show you want to participate so those who want to still play the regular game can bypass it.

Hey, fantastic suggestion, but there's a lot to unpack

i won't lie, i'm not sure it's something we can implement due to the amount of fragile interlocking systems, but the main issue at hand is definitely that the game is currently much too easy, we're working on fixing it... in a future update! 🥲

in all honesty, we're probably not going to be able to provide the level of challenge the hardcore community inside our discord craves in the near future, or maybe even at all. shrugR y'all are just too good, and we want to make sure the game is fun for everyone... kekw

Private sessions were meant to give the option for content creators and large groups of players to play the game together... while the difficulty was meant to balance the game for coordinated groups AND disincentivize some players from interacting with the system with small groups that should probably be using the matchmaking instead of private lobbies...

for all intents and purposes, this implementation wasn't good for creators and their audience who just picked up the game and made it impossible for even casual groups to play amongst themselves due to the difficulty being much too high for anyone outside of this community.... so we're looking to rework the system in the future, enabling dynamic difficulty and reducing the overall difficulty of the mode in the next major update. we want this system to be much more approachable to players of all levels... not just the late game powerhouse that crave an insurmountable challenge.

that said, we're not crossing out the idea of making more difficult lobbies in the future, but we want to make sure we make the system work and is actually being used before thinking of enabling divergent playstyles empathy...

I'm sorry this might not be the news you want to hear 🥲... and it's not ideal for everyone involved (i also like a challenge kekw)... but our goal is to make sure the game is as fun and engaging as possible at all level of play... and by virtue of systems/time/stability constraints, we have to ensure the game's entry levels first before we can expand on the late-game content

thaaaaat said, this change won't happen over night, it will take some time before it's implemented... so while the private sessions are still at their peak, community-hosted private sessions are definitely something we want to encourage people to do! if you or anyone else wants to host a private session, be it using #👪┃33i-looking-for-group or by creating a discord event stamped approved by mods/us, we'd be more than happy to help make those happen ❤️
