The way this works is they push the update to the google play store and apple app store at the same time. They take time to process and go public and they often do it days apart.

i think the issue is the way they're tracking/monitoring steps. It's not really clear, and theres too many variables to rely on. If you're going to be dependent on a connection from shoe to phone, you should be confident in the ability to stay connected. And if you can't do that, there should be another alternative to track steps as the primary way. I'm sure there are plenty of alternatives out there if flushed out properly.
