Originally Clone X holders received a MNLTH and when opened it gave you a random vial and the digital dunk nft, when combined it would evolve the digital version of the dunks. The dunks NFT also gave access to all 4 colorways to pre order in any size you want for about a two month window

The vials could be combined with each other to reach a farther evolution for example 2 robot vials combined = robot evo 2 vial, 3 of a kind equals robot evo 3 etc

Those evolved the digital shoe differently and was also forgeable as a physical vial to be inserted into the physical dunks

I mean, I doubt if these get copied and turned into reps/fakes, the counter fitter would bother putting in an nfc chip. I’m just curious if the next buyer could still use the chip to prove authenticity even if they do not get the nft.

putting the nfc chip into fake doesn’t solve the authentication. nike engineering team has spoken publicly of how a unique key is generated locally on the chip and can’t be duplicated

so lets say that u connected the shoe to the nft

the buyer can scan the shoe afterwards and see that it was connected by you

which would also show the authentication

moving the nft to a new wallet automatically disconnects the nft from the shoe

so if you send the nft to the new buyer, they would have to reconnect them together

and it would show that two different people connected them together via the link history

a bootleg nfc chip will not connect with the nike authentication system. a bootleg nft will not connect with the nike authentication system

that’s what makes the patents registered by rtfkt so significant when the bootleg luxury goods market is billions of dollars in loss
